The tradition of the Jewish prayer

Prayer for the Rain

In Judaism there is no free personal prayer to God, all prayers are canonized.
An orthodox Jew must have 3 prayers daily and in the evening prayer there is a part called "a prayer for rain" from the autumn holidays (Sukkot - a feast of tabernacles) Before Easter (Pesach).
And in the summer (from Easter before the Feast of Tabernacles), this prayer is called "a prayer for dew", because from April to October, rain does not happen.

Some Christians would pray for rain in any case. But the Jews understand that this is stupid. You can not pray for the winter to be in the summer, but in Israel it's raining, that we have snow. We can not change the seasons, but we can participate in making the winter soft, and the summer harvest, etc.

In Israel, less than 1000 ml of precipitation falls in a year. For comparison, in Europe - 2500 ml or more.
So in Israel there is a minimum. If it is less, the country will become a desert. That's why prayer for rain is so important.
Jews are praying for rain in Israel around the world.

Jews rock on prayer

You may have noticed that Jews sometimes wobble in prayer
It's because we need to pray by spirit, soul and body.
Therefore, the body should also pray, producing heat.
