Internet auto parts can come out sideways

Online auto parts stores have recently become widespread, but the choice of details through them is fraught with serious errors.

In the increasing popularity of online auto parts stores there is nothing surprising. First, they greatly simplify the process of acquiring a part - there is no need to ring up or go round a lot of outlets or to jostle in the market.

It is enough to sit at home or in the office in a quite comfortable environment without hurrying to dig on several sites and everything - the necessary auto component was found, paid, it remains only to pick it up at the time convenient for you at the point of issue.

Secondly, in online stores, parts are usually much cheaper. This is achieved due to the fact that on the one hand, such stores mostly do not have their own warehouses, and quickly acquire parts from the main suppliers as orders are received. And if there is no warehouse, then there is no and significant costs associated with its content.

On the other hand, the low level of prices is due to a fairly wide range, with the same detail being offered in several formats: in the "original" format; Analogue to the well-known conveyor supplier (usually 2-3 variants) from Europe, Japan or America; A dubious but branded analog of unknown origin (usually 3-4 variants, most likely from Southeast Asia); No name.

But just all the above advantages of virtual trading and are the main danger for the car owner - by definition, not being a specialist in the selection of auto parts.

Meanwhile, the correct selection is a very complicated and responsible task. Errors here are allowed even by experienced, professional service people, what can we say about ordinary citizens. In this regard, we give some recommendations on how to minimize the probability of such errors.

Select by VIN

Online stores, most often offer several options for choosing a part: by the number of the original part, by the catalogs of auto parts manufacturers, by car and by VIN.

The easiest way, of course, is to look for a car: choose a make, model, year of release, body type, etc., indicate what you are actually looking for for example "brake pads" and start the search.

But here it is necessary to understand that one and the same model of a vehicle or rather its component base over the years of production can repeatedly undergo all sorts of modifications, upgrades and improvements.

Moreover, these upgrades and improvements are both global in nature and very local, and therefore it is not uncommon for the same part to change beyond recognition in comparison with its original version during the production.

And it is natural to establish such a detail on the inappropriate modification of the PBX model is impossible in principle, after all, even its shape, the location of attachment points, etc., may change. But in fact this is the same, say, "stabilizer rack".

Consequently, the choice of "by car", as well as "by catalogs" is fraught with a high probability of error, because no one can give any guarantee whether the manufacturer of spare parts has monitored this modernization or not. The "original" catalog also can not be a guarantee of one hundred percent accuracy, because you do not know which modification with what changes is represented in this catalog.

To avoid such an error, it is most appropriate to select by VIN. In the identification number of "sewn" all the characteristics of the vehicle, its entire component base, all the features and, of course, the improvements made.

Analog Details

They bribe their low cost. When a person is presented with a choice from, say, 5-6 generators, he subconsciously tends to cheaper. But here, as well as in the first case, one must understand that "not all yoghurts are equally useful.

Analogues can be divided into two categories. The first is conveyor suppliers. These are large international companies, with well-known names. Their products, both in the primary market of conveyor equipment, and in the secondary auto parts market, they produce in full accordance with the specifications of automakers.

Therefore, getting their parts, you take a 100% suitable product - exactly the same with the symbol of the automaker goes to the car factory.

The second category - the company is little-known, does not supply products to the conveyor. Their details, they are trivially transfigured from the "original". Will they get in size or not? Pick up an adequate material for reliability or not pick up? Will it be possible to ensure the stability of the quality of the parts produced? These and other similar questions are difficult to answer. And the ordinary motorist is impossible at all.

Hence the recommendation number two - try to choose analogues from the companies of conveyor suppliers. They are definitely cheaper than the "original" although, in fact, they are the same "original" only instead of the brand of auto concern they bear the brand of their real manufacturer.

And it is this same manufacturer that makes exactly the same part for the conveyor. But they are more expensive than "dark horses" and "cats in a sack." Which is understandable - a 100% quality guarantee is worth the money.

Return of goods

But if the error with selection still took place, do not despair. Under the Russian Law on the Protection of Consumer Rights, Internet commerce is the so-called "remote way of selling goods", and therefore in accordance with clause 4 v. 26.1:

" The consumer has the right to refuse the goods at any time prior to its transfer, and after the transfer of the goods - within seven days.

If the information on the order and timing of the return of good quality goods was not provided in writing at the time of delivery, the consumer has the right to refuse the goods within three months from the date of delivery of the goods.

Return of good quality goods is possible in the case if its presentation, consumer properties, as well as a document confirming the fact and terms of purchase of the specified goods are preserved.

Absence of a document confirming the fact and conditions of the purchase of the goods does not deprive the consumer of the opportunity to refer to other evidence of the purchase of the goods from this seller.

If the consumer refuses the goods, the seller must refund to him the sum of money paid by the consumer under the contract, with the exception of the seller's costs for the delivery of the returned goods from the consumer, no later than ten days after the consumer presents the relevant claim …
