Disadvantages

I’ll tell you right away about the shortcomings, according to the principle - do no harm.
Your OS may be perceived as unreliable and there may be a problem installing some applications, such as banking.
And of course, like everything free - install at your own peril and risk.
That is, if we install, then well, very carefully and accurately.

Benefits

Of course, you get root rights, that is, you will not have imposed programs that take up half the space for software.
You will have pure Android, which means everything will work faster.
There will be more free space.
Well, updates. Official Android will release updates for your phone model once or twice, but there are no restrictions here.
Let's say I bought an expensive flagship phone so that I don't change it for a long time, don't rebuild it, get used to it...
After 5 years, it was still more powerful than budget phones, but the version of Android on it was hopelessly outdated and therefore I could not install many applications.

Recommendation

Personally, I would not install LineageOS while the phone is working fine.
But when I start thinking about something new, why not give LineageOS a chance to revive my phone?
