First, let's touch on late insertions into the Bible, then distortions.<p/>

A common misconception is that the Bible is perceived as a kind of collection of pulp novels: one novel - one author. <br>
It is more correct to compare the Bible with a serious scientific work, where there is an organization curator and many participants.<p/>

So, the author of the New Testament is the Church. <br>
The Church determined which texts would be included in the canon and which would not.<p/>

<b>The insertions did not in any way affect the teaching of the Church</b>. I recommend not arguing in these places, just recognizing them as late insertions. And base the teachings of the Church on other places. This way you will knock out trump cards from your opponents.<p/>

<h2>Later insertions of the New Testament</h2>

<b>Luke ch. 1-2</b> - the story of the birth of Jesus, which is read at Christmas.<br>
It is absent from early manuscripts. Why? <p/>

Then the story of Christmas was known to everyone and did not seem very important. What was more important was the ministry of Jesus. <br>
The birth story was written only by Matthew and that was enough. <br>
In addition, then they expected the imminent coming of Christ.<p/>

Over time, many well-known and obvious details acquired significance and these chapters were returned.<br>
And where were they before? <br>
By the way, if all the manuscripts of the New Testament disappear today, it can be easily restored from the texts of the church fathers. <br>
The New Testament has been quoted so often and so widely that it can be completely restored.<p/>

<b>John ch. 21</b><p/>

<b>Mark 16:9-20</b><p/>

It is obvious that the outer part of the scroll could become unusable and be lost. <br>
Therefore, it is absent in later manuscripts. <br>
When the format became book, the texts began to wear out equally. <br>
Whether these were original texts or added later because otherwise the texts looked unfinished is unknown.<p/>

<b>Matthew 6:13</b> <i>For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen</i><p/>

In earlier manuscripts this line is missing from the Lord's Prayer. <br>
The fact is that this prayer was given as a simple example, but later they began to simply memorize it. <br>
Thus the prayer ended in a way it cannot end:<p/>

<i>...but deliver us from <b>the evil one</b></i><p/>

It was clear to the Jews that prayer could not end with <b>the evil one</b>, but pagan Christians did not know this.<br>
so I had to add it.<p/>

<b>John 7:53 - 8:11</b> - <b>The story of the forgiveness of a woman taken in adultery</b> is not found in early manuscripts.<br>
Then this story began to appear in the Gospel of Luke (either after 21:38, then after 24:53), and in the Gospel of John it sometimes appears after 7:36 or after 21:25.<br>
Perhaps someone simply made such copies for personal use or exclusively for their community.<p/>

Most likely there was evidence of this story; the rest of the author’s text was of no interest. <br>
There was no point in posting this story separately, so they decided to simply add it to one of the Gospels. <br>
The author is the church and it determines the text. By the way, there was an attempt to collect all 4 gospels into a single text.<p/>

<b>John 5:3-4</b> <i>blind, lame, withered, waiting for the movement of the water, for the angel of the Lord from time to time went down into the pool and troubled the water, and whoever entered it first when the water was troubled was recovered, no matter what illness he was possessed by</i><p/>

<b>Acts 15:20,29</b> <i>and that you do not do to others what you do not want for yourself...</i><p/>

<b>1 John 5:7</b> <bi>For three testify in heaven: the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.</i><p/>

<b>Mark 1:34</b> <i>And He healed many who were suffering from various diseases; cast out many demons and did not allow the demons to say that they know <b>that He is the Christ</b></i><br>
In early manuscripts, instead of <b>that He is the Christ</b> it was written <b>that they know Him</b>.<p/>

<b>Mar.7:8</b> <i>For ye, having forsaken the commandment of God, hold to the tradition of men, the washing of cups and cups, and do many other things like these</i> <br>
In early manuscripts there was no <i>washing of mugs and bowls</i><p/>

In early manuscripts <b>taking up the cross</b> is missing.<p/>

<b>Luke 1:28</b> <i>An angel came to Her and said: “Rejoice, full of grace! The Lord is with You; <b>blessed are You among women</b>”</i><br >
In early manuscripts <b>blessed art thou among wives</b> is absent.<p/>

<b>Luke 4:8</b> <i>Jesus answered him: “<b>Get behind Me, Satan;</b> it is written: Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him alone.”</i <br>
In early manuscripts <b>Get behind Me, Satan;</b> is missing.<p/>

<b>Luke 9:54-56</b> <i>Seeing this, His disciples James and John said: “Lord, do you want us to tell fire to come down from heaven and destroy them, just like Elijah?” did?" But He, turning to them, forbade them and said: “You do not know what kind of spirit you are; for the Son of Man came not to destroy the souls of men, but to save.” And they went to another village</i><br>
