¹ חֲז֖וֹן H2377 The vision עֹֽבַדְיָ֑ה H5662 of Obadiah כֹּֽה־ H3541 Thus אָמַר֩ H559 Thus saith אֲדֹנָ֨י H136 the Lord יְהוִ֜ה H3068 from the LORD לֶאֱד֗וֹם H123 concerning Edom שְׁמוּעָ֨ה H8052 a rumour שָׁמַ֜עְנוּ H8085 We have heard מֵאֵ֤ת H853 יְהוָה֙ H3069 GOD וְצִיר֙ H6735 and an ambassador בַּגּוֹיִ֣ם H1471 among the heathen שֻׁלָּ֔ח H7971 is sent ק֛וּמוּ H6965 Arise וְנָק֥וּמָה H6965 ye and let us rise up עָלֶ֖יהָ H5921 against לַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ H4421 against her in battle

² הִנֵּ֥ה H2009 Behold קָטֹ֛ן H6996 thee small נְתַתִּ֖יךָ H5414 Behold I have made בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם H1471 among the heathen בָּז֥וּי H959 despised אַתָּ֖ה H859 You מְאֹֽד׃ H3966 thou art greatly

³ זְד֤וֹן H2087 The pride לִבְּךָ֙ H3820 of thine heart הִשִּׁיאֶ֔ךָ H5377 hath deceived שֹׁכְנִ֥י H7931 thee thou that dwellest בְחַגְוֵי־ H2288 in the clefts סֶּ֖לַע H5553 of the rock מְר֣וֹם H4791 high שִׁבְתּ֑וֹ H7674 cease אֹמֵ֣ר H559 that saith בְּלִבּ֔וֹ H3820 in his heart מִ֥י H4310 Who יוֹרִדֵ֖נִי H3381 Who shall bring me down אָֽרֶץ׃ H776 common

⁴ אִם־ H518 Though תַּגְבִּ֣יהַּ H1361 Though thou exalt כַּנֶּ֔שֶׁר H5404 as the eagle וְאִם־ H518 Though בֵּ֥ין H996 among כּֽוֹכָבִ֖ים H3556 among the stars שִׂ֣ים H7760 and though thou set קִנֶּ֑ךָ H7064 thy nest מִשָּׁ֥ם H8033 there אוֹרִֽידְךָ֖ H3381 thence will I bring thee down נְאֻם־ H5002 saith יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 the LORD

⁵ אִם־ H518 If גַּנָּבִ֤ים H1590 If thieves בָּאֽוּ־ H935 came לְךָ֙ H0 אִם־ H518 If שׁ֣וֹדְדֵי H7703 to thee if robbers לַ֔יְלָה H3915 by night אֵ֣יךְ H349 how נִדְמֵ֔יתָה H1820 (how art thou cut off הֲל֥וֹא H3808 not יִגְנְב֖וּ H1589 ) would they not have stolen דַּיָּ֑ם H1767 had אִם־ H518 If בֹּֽצְרִים֙ H1219 gatherers בָּ֣אוּ H935 came לָ֔ךְ H0 הֲל֖וֹא H3808 not יַשְׁאִ֥ירוּ H7604 to thee would they not leave עֹלֵלֽוֹת׃ H5955 grapes

⁶ אֵ֚יךְ H349 how נֶחְפְּשׂ֣וּ H2664 searched out עֵשָׂ֔ו H6215 How are of Esau נִבְע֖וּ H1158 things sought up מַצְפֻּנָֽיו׃ H4710 are his hidden

⁸ הֲל֛וֹא H3808 not בַּיּ֥וֹם H3117 Shall I not in that day הַה֖וּא H1931 he נְאֻם H5002 saith יְהוָ֑ה H3068 the LORD וְהַאֲבַדְתִּ֤י H6 even destroy חֲכָמִים֙ H2450 the wise מֵֽאֱד֔וֹם H123 out of Edom וּתְבוּנָ֖ה H8394 and understanding מֵהַ֥ר H2022 out of the mount עֵשָֽׂו׃ H6215 Esau

⁹ וְחַתּ֥וּ H2865 shall be dismayed גִבּוֹרֶ֖יךָ H1368 And thy mighty תֵּימָ֑ן H8487 O Teman לְמַ֧עַן H4616 because of יִכָּֽרֶת־ H3772 may be cut off אִ֛ישׁ H376 to the end that every one מֵהַ֥ר H2022 of the mount עֵשָׂ֖ו H6215 of Esau מִקָּֽטֶל׃ H6993 by slaughter

¹⁰ מֵחֲמַ֛ס H2555 For violence אָחִ֥יךָ H251 against thy brother יַעֲקֹ֖ב H3290 Jacob תְּכַסְּךָ֣ H3680 shall cover בוּשָׁ֑ה H955 shame וְנִכְרַ֖תָּ H3772 thee and thou shalt be cut off לְעוֹלָֽם׃ H5769 for ever

¹¹ בְּיוֹם֙ H3117 In the day עֲמָֽדְךָ֣ H5975 that thou stoodest מִנֶּ֔גֶד H5048 On בְּי֛וֹם H3117 on the other side in the day שְׁב֥וֹת H7617 carried away captive זָרִ֖ים H2114 that the strangers חֵיל֑וֹ H2428 his forces וְנָכְרִ֞ים H5237 and foreigners בָּ֣אוּ H935 entered <שַׁעֲרֹו כ> (שְׁעָרָ֗יו H8179 gate ק) וְעַל־ H5921 for יְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ H3389 upon Jerusalem יַדּ֣וּ H3032 and cast גוֹרָ֔ל H1486 lots גַּם־ H1571 again אַתָּ֖ה H859 you כְּאַחַ֥ד H259 even thou as one מֵהֶֽם׃ H1992 do

¹² וְאַל־ H408 not תֵּ֤רֶא H7200 But thou shouldest not have looked בְיוֹם־ H3117 on the day אָחִ֙יךָ֙ H251 of thy brother בְּי֣וֹם H3117 in the day נָכְר֔וֹ H5237 alien וְאַל־ H408 not תִּשְׂמַ֥ח H8055 neither shouldest thou have rejoiced לִבְנֵֽי־ H1121 over the children יְהוּדָ֖ה H3063 of Judah בְּי֣וֹם H3117 in the day אָבְדָ֑ם H6 of their destruction וְאַל־ H408 nay תַּגְדֵּ֥ל H1431 proudly פִּ֖יךָ H6310 neither shouldest thou have spoken בְּי֥וֹם H3117 in the day צָרָֽה׃ H6869 of distress

¹³ אַל־ H408 not תָּב֤וֹא H935 Thou shouldest not have entered בְשַֽׁעַר־ H8179 into the gate עַמִּי֙ H5971 of my people בְּי֣וֹם H3117 in the day אֵידָ֔ם H343 of their calamity אַל־ H408 not תֵּ֧רֶא H7200 yea thou shouldest not have looked גַם־ H1571 Yes אַתָּ֛ה H859 you בְּרָעָת֖וֹ H7451 on their affliction בְּי֣וֹם H3117 in the day אֵיד֑וֹ H343 of their calamity וְאַל־ H408 not תִּשְׁלַ֥חְנָה H7971 nor have laid בְחֵיל֖וֹ H2428 on their substance בְּי֥וֹם H3117 in the day אֵידֽוֹ׃ H343 of their calamity

¹⁴ וְאַֽל־ H408 not תַּעֲמֹד֙ H5975 Neither shouldest thou have stood עַל־ H5921 at הַפֶּ֔רֶק H6563 in the crossway לְהַכְרִ֖ית H3772 to cut off אֶת־ H853 פְּלִיטָ֑יו H6412 those of his that did escape וְאַל־ H408 not תַּסְגֵּ֥ר H5462 neither shouldest thou have delivered up שְׂרִידָ֖יו H8300 those of his that did remain בְּי֥וֹם H3117 in the day צָרָֽה׃ H6869 of distress

¹⁵ כִּֽי־ H3588 for קָר֥וֹב H7138 near יוֹם־ H3117 For the day יְהוָ֖ה H3068 of the LORD עַל־ H5921 on כָּל־ H3605 all הַגּוֹיִ֑ם H1471 upon all the heathen כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 you עָשִׂ֙יתָ֙ H6213 as thou hast done יֵעָ֣שֶׂה H6213 it shall be done לָּ֔ךְ H0 גְּמֻלְךָ֖ H1576 unto thee thy reward יָשׁ֥וּב H7725 shall return בְּרֹאשֶֽׁךָ׃ H7218 upon thine own head

¹⁶ כִּ֗י H3588 Because כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 you שְׁתִיתֶם֙ H8354 For as ye have drunk עַל־ H5921 and הַ֣ר H2022 mountain קָדְשִׁ֔י H6944 upon my holy יִשְׁתּ֥וּ H8354 drink כָֽל־ H3605 All הַגּוֹיִ֖ם H1471 shall all the heathen תָּמִ֑יד H8548 continually וְשָׁת֣וּ H8354 yea they shall drink וְלָע֔וּ H3886 and they shall swallow down וְהָי֖וּ H1961 and become כְּל֥וֹא H3808 and they shall be as though they had not הָיֽוּ׃ H1961 existed

¹⁷ וּבְהַ֥ר H2022 But upon mount צִיּ֛וֹן H6726 Zion תִּהְיֶ֥ה H1961 will be those פְלֵיטָ֖ה H6413 shall be deliverance וְהָ֣יָה H1961 become קֹ֑דֶשׁ H6944 and there shall be holiness וְיָֽרְשׁוּ֙ H3423 shall possess בֵּ֣ית H1004 and the house יַֽעֲקֹ֔ב H3290 of Jacob אֵ֖ת H853 מוֹרָֽשֵׁיהֶם׃ H4180 their possessions

¹⁸ וְהָיָה֩ H1961 Then בֵית־ H1004 And the house יַעֲקֹ֨ב H3290 of Jacob אֵ֜שׁ H784 shall be a fire וּבֵ֧ית H1004 and the house יוֹסֵ֣ף H3130 of Joseph לֶהָבָ֗ה H3852 a flame וּבֵ֤ית H1004 and the house עֵשָׂו֙ H6215 of Esau לְקַ֔שׁ H7179 for stubble וְדָלְק֥וּ H1814 and they shall kindle בָהֶ֖ם H0 וַאֲכָל֑וּם H398 in them and devour וְלֹֽא־ H3808 will be no יִֽהְיֶ֤ה H1961 become שָׂרִיד֙ H8300 them and there shall not be remaining לְבֵ֣ית H1004 of the house עֵשָׂ֔ו H6215 of Esau כִּ֥י H3588 For יְהוָ֖ה H3068 for the LORD דִּבֵּֽר׃ H1696 hath spoken

¹⁹ וְיָרְשׁ֨וּ H3423 shall possess הַנֶּ֜גֶב H5045 And the south אֶת־ H853 הַ֣ר H2022 the mount עֵשָׂ֗ו H6215 of Esau וְהַשְּׁפֵלָה֙ H8219 and the plain אֶת־ H853 פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים H6430 the Philistines וְיָרְשׁוּ֙ H3423 and they shall possess אֶת־ H853 שְׂדֵ֣ה H7704 the fields אֶפְרַ֔יִם H669 of Ephraim וְאֵ֖ת H853 שְׂדֵ֣ה H7704 and the fields שֹׁמְר֑וֹן H8111 of Samaria וּבִנְיָמִ֖ן H1144 and Benjamin אֶת־ H853 הַגִּלְעָֽד׃ H1568 Gilead

²⁰ וְגָלֻ֣ת H1546 And the captivity הַֽחֵל־ H2426 of this host הַ֠זֶּה H2088 of this לִבְנֵ֨י H1121 of the children יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל H3478 of Israel אֲשֶֽׁר־ H834 Who כְּנַעֲנִים֙ H3669 that of the Canaanites עַד־ H5704 far צָ֣רְפַ֔ת H6886 unto Zarephath וְגָלֻ֥ת H1546 and the captivity יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם H3389 of Jerusalem אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 who בִּסְפָרַ֑ד H5614 which in Sepharad יִֽרְשׁ֕וּ H3423 shall possess אֵ֖ת H853 עָרֵ֥י H5892 the cities הַנֶּֽגֶב׃ H5045 of the south

²¹ וְעָל֤וּ H5927 shall come up מֽוֹשִׁעִים֙ H3467 And saviours בְּהַ֣ר H2022 on mount צִיּ֔וֹן H6726 Zion לִשְׁפֹּ֖ט H8199 to judge אֶת־ H853 הַ֣ר H2022 the mount עֵשָׂ֑ו H6215 of Esau וְהָיְתָ֥ה H1961 become לַֽיהוָ֖ה H3068 shall be the LORD'S הַמְּלוּכָֽה׃ H4410 and the kingdom
