¹ דְּבַר־ H1697 The word יְהוָ֣ה ׀ H3068 of the LORD אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which הָיָ֗ה H1961 came אֶל־ H413 to הוֹשֵׁ֙עַ֙ H1954 that came unto Hosea בֶּן־ H1121 the son בְּאֵרִ֔י H882 of Beeri בִּימֵ֨י H3117 in the days עֻזִּיָּ֥ה H5818 of Uzziah יוֹתָ֛ם H3147 Jotham אָחָ֥ז H271 Ahaz יְחִזְקִיָּ֖ה H2396 Hezekiah מַלְכֵ֣י H4428 kings יְהוּדָ֑ה H3063 of Judah וּבִימֵ֛י H3117 and in the days יָרָבְעָ֥ם H3379 of Jeroboam בֶּן־ H1121 the son יוֹאָ֖שׁ H3101 of Joash מֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 king יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 of Israel

² תְּחִלַּ֥ת H8462 The beginning דִּבֶּר־ H1696 of the word יְהוָ֖ה H3068 of the LORD בְּהוֹשֵׁ֑עַ H1954 by Hosea פ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 said יְהוָ֜ה H3068 And the LORD אֶל־ H413 to הוֹשֵׁ֗עַ H1954 to Hosea לֵ֣ךְ H1980 Go קַח־ H3947 take לְךָ֞ H0 אֵ֤שֶׁת H802 unto thee a wife זְנוּנִים֙ H2183 of whoredoms וְיַלְדֵ֣י H3206 and children זְנוּנִ֔ים H2183 of whoredoms כִּֽי־ H3588 for זָנֹ֤ה H2181 hath committed great תִזְנֶה֙ H2181 whoredom הָאָ֔רֶץ H776 for the land מֵֽאַחֲרֵ֖י H310 from יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 the LORD

³ וַיֵּ֙לֶךְ֙ H1980 went וַיִּקַּ֔ח H3947 and took אֶת־ H853 גֹּ֖מֶר H1586 Gomer בַּת־ H1323 the daughter דִּבְלָ֑יִם H1691 of Diblaim וַתַּ֥הַר H2029 which conceived וַתֵּֽלֶד־ H3205 and bare ל֖וֹ H0 בֵּֽן׃ H1121 him a son

⁴ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 said יְהוָה֙ H3068 And the LORD אֵלָ֔יו H413 unto קְרָ֥א H7121 unto him Call שְׁמ֖וֹ H8034 his name יִזְרְעֶ֑אל H3157 Jezreel כִּי־ H3588 for ע֣וֹד H5750 yet מְעַ֗ט H4592 for yet a little וּפָ֨קַדְתִּ֜י H6485 and I will avenge אֶת־ H853 דְּמֵ֤י H1818 the blood יִזְרְעֶאל֙ H3157 of Jezreel עַל־ H5921 and בֵּ֣ית H1004 upon the house יֵה֔וּא H3058 of Jehu וְהִ֨שְׁבַּתִּ֔י H7673 and will cause to cease מַמְלְכ֖וּת H4468 the kingdom בֵּ֥ית H1004 of the house יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 of Israel

⁵ וְהָיָ֖ה H1961 become בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 And it shall come to pass at that day הַה֑וּא H1931 I וְשָֽׁבַרְתִּי֙ H7665 that I will break אֶת־ H853 קֶ֣שֶׁת H7198 the bow יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 of Israel בְּעֵ֖מֶק H6010 in the valley יִזְרְעֶֽאל׃ H3157 of Jezreel

⁶ וַתַּ֤הַר H2029 And she conceived again עוֹד֙ H5750 again וַתֵּ֣לֶד H3205 and bare בַּ֔ת H1323 a daughter וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 And said ל֔וֹ H0 קְרָ֥א H7121 unto him Call שְׁמָ֖הּ H8034 her name לֹ֣א H0 רֻחָ֑מָה H3819 Loruhamah כִּי֩ H3588 for לֹ֨א H3808 will no אוֹסִ֜יף H3254 for I will no more ע֗וֹד H5750 again אֲרַחֵם֙ H7355 have mercy אֶת־ H853 בֵּ֣ית H0 יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 of Israel כִּֽי־ H3588 would נָשֹׂ֥א H5375 but I will utterly אֶשָּׂ֖א H5375 take them away לָהֶֽם׃ H0

⁷ וְאֶת־ H853 בֵּ֤ית H1004 upon the house יְהוּדָה֙ H3063 of Judah אֲרַחֵ֔ם H7355 But I will have mercy וְהֽוֹשַׁעְתִּ֖ים H3467 and will save בַּיהוָ֣ה H3068 them by the LORD אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֑ם H430 their God וְלֹ֣א H3808 and will not אֽוֹשִׁיעֵ֗ם H3467 and will not save בְּקֶ֤שֶׁת H7198 them by bow וּבְחֶ֙רֶב֙ H2719 nor by sword וּבְמִלְחָמָ֔ה H4421 nor by battle בְּסוּסִ֖ים H5483 by horses וּבְפָרָשִֽׁים׃ H6571 nor by horsemen

⁸ וַתִּגְמֹ֖ל H1580 Now when she had weaned אֶת־ H853 לֹ֣א H0 רֻחָ֑מָה H3819 Loruhamah וַתַּ֖הַר H2029 she conceived וַתֵּ֥לֶד H3205 and bare בֵּֽן׃ H1121 a son

⁹ וַיֹּ֕אמֶר H559 Then said קְרָ֥א H7121 Call שְׁמ֖וֹ H8034 his name לֹ֣א H0 עַמִּ֑י H3818 Loammi כִּ֤י H3588 for אַתֶּם֙ H859 you לֹ֣א H3808 are not עַמִּ֔י H5971 for ye not my people וְאָנֹכִ֖י H595 I לֹֽא־ H3808 not אֶהְיֶ֥ה H1961 become לָכֶֽם׃ H0 ס

¹⁰ וְֽ֠הָיָה H1961 become מִסְפַּ֤ר H4557 Yet the number בְּנֵֽי־ H1121 of the children יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 of Israel כְּח֣וֹל H2344 shall be as the sand הַיָּ֔ם H3220 of the sea אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 Which לֹֽא־ H3808 cannot יִמַּ֖ד H4058 which cannot be measured וְלֹ֣א H3808 cannot יִסָּפֵ֑ר H5608 nor numbered וְֽ֠הָיָה H1961 become בִּמְק֞וֹם H4725 and it shall come to pass in the place אֲשֶׁר־ H834 Where יֵאָמֵ֤ר H559 where it was said לָהֶם֙ H1992 like לֹֽא־ H3808 cannot עַמִּ֣י H5971 unto them Ye not my people אַתֶּ֔ם H859 It יֵאָמֵ֥ר H559 it shall be said לָהֶ֖ם H1992 to them בְּנֵ֥י H1121 unto them the sons אֵֽל־ H410 God חָֽי׃ H2416 of the living

¹¹ וְ֠נִקְבְּצוּ H6908 be gathered בְּנֵֽי־ H1121 Then shall the children יְהוּדָ֤ה H3063 of Judah וּבְנֵֽי־ H1121 and the children יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 of Israel יַחְדָּ֔ו H3162 together וְשָׂמ֥וּ H7760 and appoint לָהֶ֛ם H0 רֹ֥אשׁ H7218 head אֶחָ֖ד H259 themselves one וְעָל֣וּ H5927 and they shall come up מִן־ H4480 from הָאָ֑רֶץ H776 out of the land כִּ֥י H3588 For גָד֖וֹל H1419 for great י֥וֹם H3117 the day יִזְרְעֶֽאל׃ H3157 of Jezreel

¹ אִמְר֥וּ H559 Say לַאֲחֵיכֶ֖ם H251 ye unto your brethren עַמִּ֑י H5971 Ammi וְלַאֲחֽוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם H269 and to your sisters רֻחָֽמָה׃ H7355 Ruhamah

² רִ֤יבוּ H7378 Plead בְאִמְּכֶם֙ H517 with your mother רִ֔יבוּ H7378 plead כִּֽי־ H3588 for הִיא֙ H1931 he לֹ֣א H3808 is not אִשְׁתִּ֔י H802 for she not my wife וְאָנֹכִ֖י H595 I לֹ֣א H3808 am not אִישָׁ֑הּ H376 neither I her husband וְתָסֵ֤ר H5493 let her therefore put away זְנוּנֶ֙יהָ֙ H2183 her whoredoms מִפָּנֶ֔יה H6440 out of her sight וְנַאֲפוּפֶ֖יהָ H5005 and her adulteries מִבֵּ֥ין H996 between שָׁדֶֽיהָ׃ H7699 from between her breasts

³ פֶּן־ H6435 Or אַפְשִׁיטֶ֣נָּה H6584 Lest I strip עֲרֻמָּ֔ה H6174 her naked וְהִ֨צַּגְתִּ֔יהָ H3322 and set כְּי֖וֹם H3117 her as in the day הִוָּֽלְדָ֑הּ H3205 that she was born וְשַׂמְתִּ֣יהָ H7760 and make כַמִּדְבָּ֗ר H4057 her as a wilderness וְשַׁתִּ֙הָ֙ H7896 and set כְּאֶ֣רֶץ H776 land צִיָּ֔ה H6723 her like a dry וַהֲמִתִּ֖יהָ H4191 and slay בַּצָּמָֽא׃ H6772 her with thirst

⁴ וְאֶת־ H853 בָּנֶ֖יהָ H1121 upon her children לֹ֣א H3808 no אֲרַחֵ֑ם H7355 And I will not have mercy כִּֽי־ H3588 Because בְנֵ֥י H1121 for they the children זְנוּנִ֖ים H2183 of whoredoms הֵֽמָּה׃ H1992 like

⁵ כִּ֤י H3588 for זָֽנְתָה֙ H2181 hath played the harlot אִמָּ֔ם H517 For their mother הֹבִ֖ישָׁה H3001 them hath done shamefully הֽוֹרָתָ֑ם H2029 she that conceived כִּ֣י H3588 for אָמְרָ֗ה H559 for she said אֵלְכָ֞ה H1980 will go אַחֲרֵ֤י H310 after מְאַהֲבַי֙ H157 my lovers נֹתְנֵ֤י H5414 that give לַחְמִי֙ H3899 my bread וּמֵימַ֔י H4325 and my water צַמְרִ֣י H6785 my wool וּפִשְׁתִּ֔י H6593 and my flax שַׁמְנִ֖י H8081 mine oil וְשִׁקּוּיָֽי׃ H8250 and my drink

⁶ לָכֵ֛ן H3651 Therefore הִנְנִי־ H2005 behold שָׂ֥ךְ H7753 Therefore behold I will hedge אֶת־ H853 דַּרְכֵּ֖ךְ H1870 up thy way בַּסִּירִ֑ים H5518 with thorns וְגָֽדַרְתִּי֙ H1443 and make אֶת־ H853 גְּדֵרָ֔הּ H1448 wall וּנְתִיבוֹתֶ֖יהָ H5410 her paths לֹ֥א H3808 cannot תִמְצָֽא׃ H4672 that she shall not find

⁷ וְרִדְּפָ֤ה H7291 And she shall follow אֶת־ H853 מְאַהֲבֶ֙יהָ֙ H157 after her lovers וְלֹֽא־ H3808 she will not תַשִּׂ֣יג H5381 but she shall not overtake אֹתָ֔ם H853 וּבִקְשָׁ֖תַם H1245 them and she shall seek וְלֹ֣א H3808 but will not תִמְצָ֑א H4672 them but shall not find וְאָמְרָ֗ה H559 then shall she say אֵלְכָ֤ה H1980 will go וְאָשׁ֙וּבָה֙ H7725 and return אֶל־ H413 about אִישִׁ֣י H376 husband הָֽרִאשׁ֔וֹן H7223 to my first כִּ֣י H3588 it was ט֥וֹב H2896 for then better לִ֛י H0 אָ֖ז H227 then מֵעָֽתָּה׃ H6258 with me than now

⁸ וְהִיא֙ H1931 he לֹ֣א H3808 does not יָֽדְעָ֔ה H3045 For she did not know כִּ֤י H3588 for אָֽנֹכִי֙ H595 who נָתַ֣תִּי H5414 that I gave לָ֔הּ H0 הַדָּגָ֖ן H1715 her corn וְהַתִּיר֣וֹשׁ H8492 and wine וְהַיִּצְהָ֑ר H3323 and oil וְכֶ֨סֶף H3701 her silver הִרְבֵּ֥יתִי H7235 and multiplied לָ֛הּ H0 וְזָהָ֖ב H2091 and gold עָשׂ֥וּ H6213 they prepared לַבָּֽעַל׃ H1168 for Baal

⁹ לָכֵ֣ן H3651 Therefore אָשׁ֔וּב H7725 Therefore will I return וְלָקַחְתִּ֤י H3947 and take away דְגָנִי֙ H1715 my corn בְּעִתּ֔וֹ H6256 in the time וְתִירוֹשִׁ֖י H8492 thereof and my wine בְּמֽוֹעֲד֑וֹ H4150 in the season וְהִצַּלְתִּי֙ H5337 thereof and will recover צַמְרִ֣י H6785 my wool וּפִשְׁתִּ֔י H6593 and my flax לְכַסּ֖וֹת H3680 to cover אֶת־ H853 עֶרְוָתָֽהּ׃ H6172 her nakedness

¹⁰ וְעַתָּ֛ה H6258 and then אֲגַלֶּ֥ה H1540 And now will I discover אֶת־ H853 נַבְלֻתָ֖הּ H5040 her lewdness לְעֵינֵ֣י H5869 in the sight מְאַהֲבֶ֑יהָ H157 of her lovers וְאִ֖ישׁ H376 and none לֹֽא־ H3808 and no יַצִּילֶ֥נָּה H5337 shall deliver מִיָּדִֽי׃ H3027 her out of mine hand

¹¹ וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי֙ H7673 to cease כָּל־ H3605 to all מְשׂוֹשָׂ֔הּ H4885 I will also cause all her mirth חַגָּ֖הּ H2282 her feast days חָדְשָׁ֣הּ H2320 her new moons וְשַׁבַּתָּ֑הּ H7676 and her sabbaths וְכֹ֖ל H3605 and all מוֹעֲדָֽהּ׃ H4150 and all her solemn feasts

¹² וַהֲשִׁמֹּתִ֗י H8074 And I will destroy גַּפְנָהּ֙ H1612 her vines וּתְאֵ֣נָתָ֔הּ H8384 and her fig trees אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 of which אָמְרָ֗ה H559 whereof she hath said אֶתְנָ֥ה H866 These my rewards הֵ֙מָּה֙ H1992 These לִ֔י H0 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 Which נָֽתְנוּ־ H5414 have given לִ֖י H0 מְאַֽהֲבָ֑י H157 that my lovers וְשַׂמְתִּ֣ים H7760 me and I will make לְיַ֔עַר H3293 them a forest וַאֲכָלָ֖תַם H398 shall eat חַיַּ֥ת H2416 and the beasts הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃ H7704 of the field

¹³ וּפָקַדְתִּ֣י H6485 And I will visit עָלֶ֗יהָ H5921 and אֶת־ H853 יְמֵ֤י H3117 upon her the days הַבְּעָלִים֙ H1168 of Baalim אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 When תַּקְטִ֣יר H6999 wherein she burned incense לָהֶ֔ם H1992 to them וַתַּ֤עַד H5710 to them and she decked נִזְמָהּ֙ H5141 herself with her earrings וְחֶלְיָתָ֔הּ H2484 and her jewels וַתֵּ֖לֶךְ H1980 along אַחֲרֵ֣י H310 after מְאַהֲבֶ֑יהָ H157 her lovers וְאֹתִ֥י H853 שָׁכְחָ֖ה H7911 and forgat נְאֻם־ H5002 me saith יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 the LORD פ

¹⁴ לָכֵ֗ן H3651 Therefore הִנֵּ֤ה H2009 behold אָֽנֹכִי֙ H595 I מְפַתֶּ֔יהָ H6601 Therefore behold I will allure וְהֹֽלַכְתִּ֖יהָ H1980 her Bring הַמִּדְבָּ֑ר H4057 her into the wilderness וְדִבַּרְתִּ֖י H1696 and speak עַל־ H5921 and לִבָּֽהּ׃ H3820 comfortably

¹⁵ וְנָתַ֨תִּי H5414 And I will give לָ֤הּ H0 אֶת־ H853 כְּרָמֶ֙יהָ֙ H3754 her her vineyards מִשָּׁ֔ם H8033 there וְאֶת־ H853 עֵ֥מֶק H6010 from thence and the valley עָכ֖וֹר H5911 of Achor לְפֶ֣תַח H6607 for a door תִּקְוָ֑ה H8615 of hope וְעָ֤נְתָה H6030 and she shall sing שָּׁ֙מָּה֙ H8033 there כִּימֵ֣י H3117 there as in the days נְעוּרֶ֔יהָ H5271 of her youth וִּכְי֖וֹם H3117 and as in the day עֲלֹתָ֥הּ H5927 when she came up מֵאֶֽרֶץ־ H776 out of the land מִצְרָֽיִם׃ H4714 of Egypt ס

¹⁶ וְהָיָ֤ה H1961 will come בַיּוֹם־ H3117 And it shall be at that day הַהוּא֙ H1931 he נְאֻם־ H5002 saith יְהוָ֔ה H3068 the LORD תִּקְרְאִ֖י H7121 thou shalt call אִישִׁ֑י H376 me Ishi וְלֹֽא־ H3808 and will no תִקְרְאִי־ H7121 and shalt call לִ֥י H0 ע֖וֹד H5750 longer בַּעְלִֽי׃ H1180 me no more Baali

¹⁷ וַהֲסִרֹתִ֛י H5493 For I will take away אֶת־ H853 שְׁמ֥וֹת H8034 the names הַבְּעָלִ֖ים H1168 of Baalim מִפִּ֑יהָ H6310 out of her mouth וְלֹֽא־ H3808 no יִזָּכְר֥וּ H2142 and they shall no more be remembered ע֖וֹד H5750 more בִּשְׁמָֽם׃ H8034 by their name

¹⁸ וְכָרַתִּ֨י H3772 will I make לָהֶ֤ם H0 בְּרִית֙ H1285 a covenant בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 And in that day הַה֔וּא H1931 he עִם־ H5973 with חַיַּ֤ת H2416 for them with the beasts הַשָּׂדֶה֙ H7704 of the field וְעִם־ H5973 with ע֣וֹף H5775 and with the fowls הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם H8064 of heaven וְרֶ֖מֶשׂ H7431 and the creeping things הָֽאֲדָמָ֑ה H127 of the ground וְקֶ֨שֶׁת H7198 the bow וְחֶ֤רֶב H2719 and the sword וּמִלְחָמָה֙ H4421 and the battle אֶשְׁבּ֣וֹר H7665 and I will break מִן־ H4480 from הָאָ֔רֶץ H776 out of the earth וְהִשְׁכַּבְתִּ֖ים H7901 and will make them to lie down לָבֶֽטַח׃ H983 safely

¹⁹ וְאֵרַשְׂתִּ֥יךְ H781 And I will betroth לִ֖י H0 לְעוֹלָ֑ם H5769 thee unto me for ever וְאֵרַשְׂתִּ֥יךְ H781 yea I will betroth לִי֙ H0 בְּצֶ֣דֶק H6664 thee unto me in righteousness וּבְמִשְׁפָּ֔ט H4941 and in judgment וּבְחֶ֖סֶד H2617 and in lovingkindness וּֽבְרַחֲמִֽים׃ H7356 and in mercies

²⁰ וְאֵרַשְׂתִּ֥יךְ H781 I will even betroth לִ֖י H0 בֶּאֱמוּנָ֑ה H530 thee unto me in faithfulness וְיָדַ֖עַתְּ H3045 and thou shalt know אֶת־ H853 יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 the LORD ס

²¹ וְהָיָ֣ה ׀ H1961 will come בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 And it shall come to pass in that day הַה֗וּא H1931 I אֶֽעֱנֶה֙ H6030 I will hear נְאֻם־ H5002 saith יְהוָ֔ה H3068 the LORD אֶעֱנֶ֖ה H6030 I will hear אֶת־ H853 הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם H8064 the heavens וְהֵ֖ם H1992 and they יַעֲנ֥וּ H6030 and they shall hear אֶת־ H853 הָאָֽרֶץ׃ H776 the earth

²² וְהָאָ֣רֶץ H776 And the earth תַּעֲנֶ֔ה H6030 shall hear אֶת־ H853 הַדָּגָ֖ן H1715 the corn וְאֶת־ H853 הַתִּיר֣וֹשׁ H8492 and the wine וְאֶת־ H853 הַיִּצְהָ֑ר H3323 and the oil וְהֵ֖ם H1992 and they יַעֲנ֥וּ H6030 and they shall hear אֶֽת־ H853 יִזְרְעֶֽאל׃ H3157 Jezreel

²³ וּזְרַעְתִּ֤יהָ H2232 And I will sow לִּי֙ H0 בָּאָ֔רֶץ H776 her unto me in the earth וְרִֽחַמְתִּ֖י H7355 and I will have mercy אֶת־ H853 לֹ֣א H3808 not רֻחָ֑מָה H7355 compassion וְאָמַרְתִּ֤י H559 and I will say לְלֹֽא־ H3808 were not עַמִּי֙ H5971 to not my people עַמִּי־ H5971 Thou my people אַ֔תָּה H859 you וְה֖וּא H1931 and I יֹאמַ֥ר H559 and they shall say אֱלֹהָֽי׃ H430 my God פ

¹ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 Then said יְהוָ֜ה H3068 the LORD אֵלַ֗י H413 about ע֚וֹד H5750 again לֵ֣ךְ H1980 Go אֱ‍ֽהַב־ H157 yet love אִשָּׁ֔ה H802 a woman אֲהֻ֥בַת H157 beloved רֵ֖עַ H7453 of friend וּמְנָאָ֑פֶת H5003 yet an adulteress כְּאַהֲבַ֤ת H160 according to the love יְהוָה֙ H3068 of the LORD אֶת־ H853 בְּנֵ֣י H1121 toward the children יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 of Israel וְהֵ֗ם H1992 they פֹּנִים֙ H6437 who look אֶל־ H413 about אֱלֹהִ֣ים H430 gods אֲחֵרִ֔ים H312 to other וְאֹהֲבֵ֖י H157 and love אֲשִׁישֵׁ֥י H809 flagons עֲנָבִֽים׃ H6025 of wine

² וָאֶכְּרֶ֣הָ H3739 So I bought לִּ֔י H0 בַּחֲמִשָּׁ֥ה H2568 fif עָשָׂ֖ר H6240 teen כָּ֑סֶף H3701 of silver וְחֹ֥מֶר H2563 and an homer שְׂעֹרִ֖ים H8184 of barley וְלֵ֥תֶךְ H3963 and an half homer שְׂעֹרִֽים׃ H8184 of barley

³ וָאֹמַ֣ר H559 And I said אֵלֶ֗יהָ H413 be toward יָמִ֤ים H3117 days רַבִּים֙ H7227 for me many תֵּ֣שְׁבִי H3427 unto her Thou shalt abide לִ֔י H0 לֹ֣א H3808 nor תִזְנִ֔י H2181 thou shalt not play the harlot וְלֹ֥א H3808 nor תִֽהְיִ֖י H1961 and thou shalt not be לְאִ֑ישׁ H376 for man וְגַם־ H1571 will also אֲנִ֖י H589 I אֵלָֽיִךְ׃ H413 be toward

⁵ אַחַ֗ר H310 Afterward יָשֻׁ֙בוּ֙ H7725 return בְּנֵ֣י H1121 shall the children יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 of Israel וּבִקְשׁוּ֙ H1245 and seek אֶת־ H853 יְהוָ֣ה H3069 God אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֔ם H430 their God וְאֵ֖ת H853 דָּוִ֣ד H1732 and David מַלְכָּ֑ם H4428 their king וּפָחֲד֧וּ H6342 and shall fear אֶל־ H413 about יְהוָ֛ה H3069 God וְאֶל־ H413 and to טוּב֖וֹ H2898 and his goodness בְּאַחֲרִ֥ית H319 in the latter הַיָּמִֽים׃ H3117 days פ

¹ שִׁמְע֥וּ H8085 Hear דְבַר־ H1697 the word יְהוָ֖ה H3068 of the LORD בְּנֵ֣י H1121 ye children יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 of Israel כִּ֣י H3588 Because רִ֤יב H7379 hath a controversy לַֽיהוָה֙ H3068 for the LORD עִם־ H5973 against יוֹשְׁבֵ֣י H3427 with the inhabitants הָאָ֔רֶץ H776 of the land כִּ֠י H3588 Because אֵין־ H369 there אֱמֶ֧ת H571 because no truth וְֽאֵין־ H369 is no חֶ֛סֶד H2617 nor mercy וְאֵֽין־ H369 there דַּ֥עַת H1847 nor knowledge אֱלֹהִ֖ים H430 of God בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ H776 in the land

² אָלֹ֣ה H422 By swearing וְכַחֵ֔שׁ H3584 and lying וְרָצֹ֥חַ H7523 and killing וְגָנֹ֖ב H1589 and stealing וְנָאֹ֑ף H5003 and committing adultery פָּרָ֕צוּ H6555 they break out וְדָמִ֥ים H1818 and blood בְּדָמִ֖ים H1818 blood נָגָֽעוּ׃ H5060 toucheth

³ עַל־ H5921 and כֵּ֣ן ׀ H3651 after that תֶּאֱבַ֣ל H56 mourn הָאָ֗רֶץ H776 Therefore shall the land וְאֻמְלַל֙ H535 therein shall languish כָּל־ H3605 and everyone יוֹשֵׁ֣ב H3427 and every one that dwelleth בָּ֔הּ H0 בְּחַיַּ֥ת H2416 with the beasts הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה H7704 of the field וּבְע֣וֹף H5775 and with the fowls הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם H8064 of heaven וְגַם־ H1571 and also דְּגֵ֥י H1709 yea the fishes הַיָּ֖ם H3220 of the sea יֵאָסֵֽפוּ׃ H622 also shall be taken away

⁴ אַ֥ךְ H389 Yet אִ֛ישׁ H376 Yet let no man אַל־ H408 no יָרֵ֖ב H7378 strive וְאַל־ H408 no יוֹכַ֣ח H3198 nor reprove אִ֑ישׁ H376 another וְעַמְּךָ֖ H5971 for thy people כִּמְרִיבֵ֥י H7378 as they that strive כֹהֵֽן׃ H3548 with the priest

⁵ וְכָשַׁלְתָּ֣ H3782 Therefore shalt thou fall הַיּ֔וֹם H3117 in the day וְכָשַׁ֧ל H3782 also shall fall גַּם־ H1571 also נָבִ֛יא H5030 and the prophet עִמְּךָ֖ H5973 by לָ֑יְלָה H3915 with thee in the night וְדָמִ֖יתִי H1820 and I will destroy אִמֶּֽךָ׃ H517 thy mother

⁶ נִדְמ֥וּ H1820 are destroyed עַמִּ֖י H5971 My people מִבְּלִ֣י H1097 corruption הַדָּ֑עַת H1847 for lack of knowledge כִּֽי־ H3588 Because אַתָּ֞ה H859 you הַדַּ֣עַת H1847 knowledge מָאַ֗סְתָּ H3988 because thou hast rejected וְאֶמְאָֽסְאךָ֙ H3988 I will also reject מִכַּהֵ֣ן H3547 thee that thou shalt be no priest לִ֔י H0 וַתִּשְׁכַּח֙ H7911 to me seeing thou hast forgotten תּוֹרַ֣ת H8451 the law אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ H430 of thy God אֶשְׁכַּ֥ח H7911 I will also forget בָּנֶ֖יךָ H1121 thy children גַּם־ H1571 also אָֽנִי׃ H589 I

⁷ כְּרֻבָּ֖ם H7235 abundance כֵּ֣ן H3651 the more חָֽטְאוּ־ H2398 so they sinned לִ֑י H0 כְּבוֹדָ֖ם H3519 their glory בְּקָל֥וֹן H7036 into shame אָמִֽיר׃ H4171 against me will I change

⁸ חַטַּ֥את H2403 the sin עַמִּ֖י H5971 of my people יֹאכֵ֑לוּ H398 They eat up וְאֶל־ H413 toward עֲוֹנָ֖ם H5771 on their iniquity יִשְׂא֥וּ H5375 and they set נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ H5315 their heart

⁹ וְהָיָ֥ה H1961 will be like כָעָ֖ם H5971 And there shall be like people כַּכֹּהֵ֑ן H3548 like priest וּפָקַדְתִּ֤י H6485 and I will punish עָלָיו֙ H5921 for דְּרָכָ֔יו H1870 them for their ways וּמַעֲלָלָ֖יו H4611 them their doings אָשִׁ֥יב H7725 and reward לֽוֹ׃ H0

¹⁰ וְאָֽכְלוּ֙ H398 For they shall eat וְלֹ֣א H3808 not יִשְׂבָּ֔עוּ H7646 and not have enough הִזְנ֖וּ H2181 they shall commit whoredom וְלֹ֣א H3808 not יִפְרֹ֑צוּ H6555 and shall not increase כִּֽי־ H3588 Because אֶת־ H853 יְהוָ֥ה H3068 to the LORD עָזְב֖וּ H5800 because they have left off לִשְׁמֹֽר׃ H8104 to take heed

¹¹ זְנ֛וּת H2184 Whoredom וְיַ֥יִן H3196 and wine וְתִיר֖וֹשׁ H8492 and new wine יִֽקַּֽח־ H3947 take away לֵֽב׃ H3820 the heart

¹² עַמִּי֙ H5971 My people בְּעֵצ֣וֹ H6086 counsel at their stocks יִשְׁאָ֔ל H7592 ask וּמַקְל֖וֹ H4731 and their staff יַגִּ֣יד H5046 declareth ל֑וֹ H0 כִּ֣י H3588 For ר֤וּחַ H7307 unto them for the spirit זְנוּנִים֙ H2183 of whoredoms הִתְעָ֔ה H8582 hath caused to err וַיִּזְנ֖וּ H2181 and they have gone a whoring מִתַּ֥חַת H8478 Thahash אֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃ H430 from under their God

¹³ עַל־ H5921 on רָאשֵׁ֨י H7218 upon the tops הֶהָרִ֜ים H2022 of the mountains יְזַבֵּ֗חוּ H2076 They sacrifice וְעַל־ H5921 on הַגְּבָעוֹת֙ H1389 upon the hills יְקַטֵּ֔רוּ H6999 and burn incense תַּ֣חַת H8478 Under אַלּ֧וֹן H437 under oaks וְלִבְנֶ֛ה H3839 and poplars וְאֵלָ֖ה H424 and elms כִּ֣י H3588 Because ט֣וֹב H2896 thereof good צִלָּ֑הּ H6738 because the shadow עַל־ H5921 and כֵּ֗ן H3651 after that תִּזְנֶ֙ינָה֙ H2181 shall commit whoredom בְּנ֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם H1323 therefore your daughters וְכַלּוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם H3618 and your spouses תְּנָאַֽפְנָה׃ H5003 shall commit adultery

¹⁴ לֹֽא־ H3808 without אֶפְק֨וֹד H6485 I will not punish עַל־ H5921 and בְּנוֹתֵיכֶ֜ם H1323 your daughters כִּ֣י H3588 when תִזְנֶ֗ינָה H2181 when they commit whoredom וְעַל־ H5921 Or כַּלּֽוֹתֵיכֶם֙ H3618 nor your spouses כִּ֣י H3588 when תְנָאַ֔פְנָה H5003 when they commit adultery כִּי־ H3588 when הֵם֙ H1992 themselves עִם־ H5973 with הַזֹּנ֣וֹת H2181 with whores יְפָרֵ֔דוּ H6504 for themselves are separated וְעִם־ H5973 with הַקְּדֵשׁ֖וֹת H6948 with harlots יְזַבֵּ֑חוּ H2076 and they sacrifice וְעָ֥ם H5971 therefore the people לֹֽא־ H3808 without יָבִ֖ין H995 doth not understand יִלָּבֵֽט׃ H3832 shall fall

¹⁵ אִם־ H518 Though זֹנֶ֤ה H2181 play the harlot אַתָּה֙ H859 you יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 Though thou Israel אַל־ H408 nay יֶאְשַׁ֖ם H816 offend יְהוּדָ֑ה H3063 let not Judah וְאַל־ H408 nay תָּבֹ֣אוּ H935 and come הַגִּלְגָּ֗ל H1537 not ye unto Gilgal וְאַֽל־ H408 not תַּעֲלוּ֙ H5927 neither go ye up בֵּ֣ית H0 אָ֔וֶן H1007 to Bethaven וְאַל־ H408 nay תִּשָּׁבְע֖וּ H7650 nor swear חַי־ H2416 liveth יְהוָֽה׃ H3069 God

¹⁶ כִּ֚י H3588 Since כְּפָרָ֣ה H6510 heifer סֹֽרֵרָ֔ה H5637 slideth back סָרַ֖ר H5637 as a backsliding יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 For Israel עַתָּה֙ H6258 now יִרְעֵ֣ם H7462 will feed יְהוָ֔ה H3068 now the LORD כְּכֶ֖בֶשׂ H3532 them as a lamb בַּמֶּרְחָֽב׃ H4800 in a large place

¹⁷ חֲב֧וּר H2266 joined עֲצַבִּ֛ים H6091 to idols אֶפְרָ֖יִם H669 Ephraim הַֽנַּֽח־ H3240 let him alone לֽוֹ׃ H0

¹⁸ סָ֖ר H5493 is sour סָבְאָ֑ם H5435 Their drink הַזְנֵ֣ה H2181 they have committed whoredom הִזְנ֔וּ H2181 continually אָהֲב֥וּ H157 do love הֵב֛וּ H157 love קָל֖וֹן H7036 shame מָגִנֶּֽיהָ׃ H4043 her rulers

¹ שִׁמְעוּ־ H8085 Hear זֹ֨את H2063 O הַכֹּהֲנִ֜ים H3548 ye this O priests וְהַקְשִׁ֣יבוּ ׀ H7181 and hearken בֵּ֣ית H1004 ye house יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל H3478 of Israel וּבֵ֤ית H1004 O house הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 of the king הַאֲזִ֔ינוּ H238 and give ye ear כִּ֥י H3588 for לָכֶ֖ם H0 הַמִּשְׁפָּ֑ט H4941 for judgment כִּֽי־ H3588 for פַח֙ H6341 toward you because ye have been a snare הֱיִיתֶ֣ם H1961 have been לְמִצְפָּ֔ה H4709 on Mizpah וְרֶ֖שֶׁת H7568 and a net פְּרוּשָׂ֥ה H6566 spread עַל־ H5921 on תָּבֽוֹר׃ H8396 upon Tabor

² וְשַׁחֲטָ֥ה H7819 to make slaughter שֵׂטִ֖ים H7846 And the revolters הֶעְמִ֑יקוּ H6009 are profound וַאֲנִ֖י H589 I מוּסָ֥ר H4148 though I a rebuker לְכֻלָּֽם׃ H3605 all

³ אֲנִי֙ H589 I יָדַ֣עְתִּי H3045 I know אֶפְרַ֔יִם H669 Ephraim וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 and Israel לֹֽא־ H3808 is not נִכְחַ֣ד H3582 is not hid מִמֶּ֑נִּי H4480 at כִּ֤י H3588 For עַתָּה֙ H6258 now הִזְנֵ֣יתָ H2181 thou committest whoredom אֶפְרַ֔יִם H669 from me for now O Ephraim נִטְמָ֖א H2930 is defiled יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 Israel

⁴ לֹ֤א H3808 will not יִתְּנוּ֙ H5414 They will not frame מַ֣עַלְלֵיהֶ֔ם H4611 their doings לָשׁ֖וּב H7725 to turn אֶל־ H413 to אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֑ם H430 unto their God כִּ֣י H3588 For ר֤וּחַ H7307 for the spirit זְנוּנִים֙ H2183 of whoredoms בְּקִרְבָּ֔ם H7130 in the midst וְאֶת־ H853 יְהוָ֖ה H3068 the LORD לֹ֥א H3808 not יָדָֽעוּ׃ H3045 of them and they have not known

⁵ וְעָנָ֥ה H6030 doth testify גְאֽוֹן־ H1347 And the pride יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 of Israel בְּפָנָ֑יו H6440 to his face וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל H3478 therefore shall Israel וְאֶפְרַ֗יִם H669 and Ephraim יִכָּֽשְׁלוּ֙ H3782 fall בַּעֲוֹנָ֔ם H5771 in their iniquity כָּשַׁ֥ל H3782 also shall fall גַּם־ H1571 also יְהוּדָ֖ה H3063 Judah עִמָּֽם׃ H5973 with

⁶ בְּצֹאנָ֣ם H6629 with their flocks וּבִבְקָרָ֗ם H1241 and with their herds יֵֽלְכ֛וּ H1980 will go לְבַקֵּ֥שׁ H1245 to seek אֶת־ H853 יְהוָ֖ה H3068 the LORD וְלֹ֣א H3808 they will not יִמְצָ֑אוּ H4672 but they shall not find חָלַ֖ץ H2502 he hath withdrawn מֵהֶֽם׃ H1992 against

¹⁰ הָיוּ֙ H1961 have become שָׂרֵ֣י H8269 The princes יְהוּדָ֔ה H3063 of Judah כְּמַסִּיגֵ֖י H5253 were like them that remove גְּב֑וּל H1366 the bound עֲלֵיהֶ֕ם H5921 on אֶשְׁפּ֥וֹךְ H8210 I will pour out כַּמַּ֖יִם H4325 upon them like water עֶבְרָתִֽי׃ H5678 my wrath

¹³ וַיַּ֨רְא H7200 saw אֶפְרַ֜יִם H669 When Ephraim אֶת־ H853 חָלְי֗וֹ H2483 his sickness וִֽיהוּדָה֙ H3063 and Judah אֶת־ H853 מְזֹר֔וֹ H4205 his wound וַיֵּ֤לֶךְ H1980 went אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ H669 Ephraim אֶל־ H413 to אַשּׁ֔וּר H804 to the Assyrian וַיִּשְׁלַ֖ח H7971 and sent אֶל־ H413 to מֶ֣לֶךְ H4428 to king יָרֵ֑ב H3377 Jareb וְה֗וּא H1931 he לֹ֤א H3808 not יוּכַל֙ H3201 yet could לִרְפֹּ֣א H7495 he not heal לָכֶ֔ם H0 וְלֹֽא־ H3808 Or יִגְהֶ֥ה H1455 you nor cure מִכֶּ֖ם H4480 at מָזֽוֹר׃ H4205 you of your wound

¹⁴ כִּ֣י H3588 for אָנֹכִ֤י H595 I כַשַּׁ֙חַל֙ H7826 as a lion לְאֶפְרַ֔יִם H669 For I unto Ephraim וְכַכְּפִ֖יר H3715 and as a young lion לְבֵ֣ית H1004 to the house יְהוּדָ֑ה H3063 of Judah אֲנִ֨י H589 I אֲנִ֤י H589 I אֶטְרֹף֙ H2963 I I will tear וְאֵלֵ֔ךְ H1980 and go אֶשָּׂ֖א H5375 I will take away וְאֵ֥ין H369 and there מַצִּֽיל׃ H5337 and none shall rescue

¹⁵ אֵלֵ֤ךְ H1980 will go אָשׁ֙וּבָה֙ H7725 return אֶל־ H413 to מְקוֹמִ֔י H4725 to my place עַ֥ד H5704 against אֲשֶֽׁר־ H834 they יֶאְשְׁמ֖וּ H816 till they acknowledge their offence וּבִקְשׁ֣וּ H1245 and seek פָנָ֑י H6440 my face בַּצַּ֥ר H6862 in their affliction לָהֶ֖ם H1992 they יְשַׁחֲרֻֽנְנִי׃ H7836 they will seek me early

¹ לְכוּ֙ H1980 Come וְנָשׁ֣וּבָה H7725 and let us return אֶל־ H413 to יְהוָ֔ה H3068 unto the LORD כִּ֛י H3588 for ה֥וּא H1931 He טָרָ֖ף H2963 for he hath torn וְיִרְפָּאֵ֑נוּ H7495 and he will heal יַ֖ךְ H5221 us he hath smitten וְיַחְבְּשֵֽׁנוּ׃ H2280 and he will bind us up

² יְחַיֵּ֖נוּ H2421 will he revive מִיֹּמָ֑יִם H3117 After two days בַּיּוֹם֙ H3117 day הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֔י H7992 us in the third יְקִמֵ֖נוּ H6965 he will raise us up וְנִחְיֶ֥ה H2421 and we shall live לְפָנָֽיו׃ H6440 in his sight

³ וְנֵדְעָ֣ה H3045 Then shall we know נִרְדְּפָ֗ה H7291 we follow לָדַ֙עַת֙ H3045 on to know אֶת־ H853 יְהוָ֔ה H3068 the LORD כְּשַׁ֖חַר H7837 as the morning נָכ֣וֹן H3559 is prepared מֽוֹצָא֑וֹ H4161 his going forth וְיָב֤וֹא H935 and he shall come כַגֶּ֙שֶׁם֙ H1653 unto us as the rain לָ֔נוּ H0 כְּמַלְק֖וֹשׁ H4456 as the latter י֥וֹרֶה H3138 autumn rain אָֽרֶץ׃ H776 unto the earth

O Judah וְחַסְדְּכֶם֙ H2617 unto thee? for your goodness כַּֽעֲנַן־ H6051 cloud בֹּ֔קֶר H1242 as a morning וְכַטַּ֖ל H2919 dew מַשְׁכִּ֥ים H7925 and as the early הֹלֵֽךְ׃ H1980 it goeth away

⁵ עַל־ H5921 and כֵּ֗ן H3651 after that חָצַ֙בְתִּי֙ H2672 Therefore have I hewed בַּנְּבִיאִ֔ים H5030 by the prophets הֲרַגְתִּ֖ים H2026 I have slain בְּאִמְרֵי־ H561 them by the words פִ֑י H6310 of my mouth וּמִשְׁפָּטֶ֖יךָ H4941 and thy judgments א֥וֹר H216 the light יֵצֵֽא׃ H3318 goeth forth

⁶ כִּ֛י H3588 in חֶ֥סֶד H2617 mercy חָפַ֖צְתִּי H2654 For I desired וְלֹא־ H3808 rather זָ֑בַח H2077 and not sacrifice וְדַ֥עַת H1847 and the knowledge אֱלֹהִ֖ים H430 of God מֵעֹלֽוֹת׃ H5930 more than burnt offerings

⁷ וְהֵ֕מָּה H1992 like כְּאָדָ֖ם H121 Adam עָבְר֣וּ H5674 have transgressed בְרִ֑ית H1285 the covenant שָׁ֖ם H8033 There בָּ֥גְדוּ H898 there have they dealt treacherously בִֽי׃ H0

⁸ גִּלְעָ֕ד H1568 Gilead קִרְיַ֖ת H7151 a city פֹּ֣עֲלֵי H6466 of them that work אָ֑וֶן H205 iniquity עֲקֻבָּ֖ה H6121 polluted מִדָּֽם׃ H1818 with blood

⁹ וּכְחַכֵּ֨י H2442 of robbers wait אִ֜ישׁ H376 for a man גְּדוּדִ֗ים H1416 And as troops חֶ֚בֶר H2267 the company כֹּֽהֲנִ֔ים H3548 of priests דֶּ֖רֶךְ H1870 in the way יְרַצְּחוּ־ H7523 murder שֶׁ֑כְמָה H7927 to Shechem כִּ֥י H3588 Surely זִמָּ֖ה H2154 lewdness עָשֽׂוּ׃ H6213 for they commit

³ זָנַ֥ח H2186 hath cast off יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 Israel ט֑וֹב H2896 good אוֹיֵ֖ב H341 the enemy יִרְדְּֽפוֹ׃ H7291 shall pursue

⁵ זָנַח֙ H2186 hath cast עֶגְלֵ֣ךְ H5695 Thy calf שֹֽׁמְר֔וֹן H8111 O Samaria חָרָ֥ה H2734 is kindled אַפִּ֖י H639 off mine anger בָּ֑ם H0 עַד־ H5704 long מָתַ֕י H4970 How לֹ֥א H3808 against them how long ere יוּכְל֖וּ H3201 they attain נִקָּיֹֽן׃ H5356 cleanness

⁶ כִּ֤י H3588 Surely מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 For from Israel וְה֔וּא H1931 this חָרָ֣שׁ H2796 it also the workman עָשָׂ֔הוּ H6213 made וְלֹ֥א H3808 is not אֱלֹהִ֖ים H430 it therefore it not God ה֑וּא H1931 this כִּֽי־ H3588 Surely שְׁבָבִ֣ים H7616 shall be broken in pieces יִֽהְיֶ֔ה H1961 become עֵ֖גֶל H5695 but the calf שֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃ H8111 of Samaria

⁷ כִּ֛י H3588 for ר֥וּחַ H7307 the wind יִזְרָ֖עוּ H2232 For they have sown וְסוּפָ֣תָה H5492 the whirlwind יִקְצֹ֑רוּ H7114 and they shall reap קָמָ֣ה H7054 it hath no stalk אֵֽין־ H369 has ל֗וֹ H0 צֶ֚מַח H6780 the bud בְּלִ֣י H1097 no יַֽעֲשֶׂה־ H6213 shall yield קֶּ֔מַח H7058 no meal אוּלַ֣י H194 if יַֽעֲשֶׂ֔ה H6213 so be it yield זָרִ֖ים H2114 the strangers יִבְלָעֻֽהוּ׃ H1104 shall swallow it up

⁸ נִבְלַ֖ע H1104 is swallowed up יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 Israel עַתָּה֙ H6258 are now הָי֣וּ H1961 become בַגּוֹיִ֔ם H1471 now shall they be among the Gentiles כִּכְלִ֖י H3627 as a vessel אֵֽין־ H369 no חֵ֥פֶץ H2656 wherein no pleasure בּֽוֹ׃ H0

⁹ כִּֽי־ H3588 for הֵ֙מָּה֙ H1992 they עָל֣וּ H5927 For they are gone up אַשּׁ֔וּר H804 to Assyria פֶּ֖רֶא H6501 a wild ass בּוֹדֵ֣ד H909 alone ל֑וֹ H0 אֶפְרַ֖יִם H669 by himself Ephraim הִתְנ֥וּ H8566 hath hired אֲהָבִֽים׃ H158 lovers

¹⁰ גַּ֛ם H1571 Even כִּֽי־ H3588 though יִתְנ֥וּ H8566 Yea though they have hired בַגּוֹיִ֖ם H1471 among the nations עַתָּ֣ה H6258 Now אֲקַבְּצֵ֑ם H6908 now will I gather וַיָּחֵ֣לּוּ H2490 them and they shall sorrow מְּעָ֔ט H4592 a little מִמַּשָּׂ֖א H4853 for the burden מֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 of the king שָׂרִֽים׃ H8269 of princes

¹⁴ תֵּן־ H5414 Give לָהֶ֥ם H0 יְהוָ֖ה H3068 them O LORD מַה־ H4100 how long תִּתֵּ֑ן H5414 what wilt thou give תֵּן־ H5414 ? give לָהֶם֙ H0 רֶ֣חֶם H7358 womb מַשְׁכִּ֔יל H7921 them a miscarrying וְשָׁדַ֖יִם H7699 breasts צֹמְקִֽים׃ H6784 and dry

⁴ דִּבְּר֣וּ H1696 They have spoken דְבָרִ֔ים H1697 words אָל֥וֹת H422 swearing שָׁ֖וְא H7723 falsely כָּרֹ֣ת H3772 in making בְּרִ֑ית H1285 a covenant וּפָרַ֤ח H6524 springeth up כָּרֹאשׁ֙ H7219 as hemlock מִשְׁפָּ֔ט H4941 thus judgment עַ֖ל H5921 in תַּלְמֵ֥י H8525 in the furrows שָׂדָֽי׃ H7704 of the field

⁷ נִדְמֶ֥ה H1820 is cut off שֹׁמְר֖וֹן H8111 Samaria מַלְכָּ֑הּ H4428 her king כְּקֶ֖צֶף H7110 as the foam עַל־ H5921 on פְּנֵי־ H6440 upon מָֽיִם׃ H4325 the water

⁹ מִימֵי֙ H3117 from the days הַגִּבְעָ֔ה H1390 of Gibeah חָטָ֖אתָ H2398 thou hast sinned יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 O Israel שָׁ֣ם H8033 There עָמָ֔דוּ H5975 there they stood לֹֽא־ H3808 not תַשִּׂיגֵ֧ם H5381 did not overtake בַּגִּבְעָ֛ה H1390 in Gibeah מִלְחָמָ֖ה H4421 the battle עַל־ H5921 against בְּנֵ֥י H1121 against the children עַֽלְוָֽה׃ H5932 of iniquity

¹⁰ בְּאַוָּתִ֖י H185 in my desire וְאֶסֳּרֵ֑ם H3256 that I should chastise וְאֻסְּפ֤וּ H622 shall be gathered עֲלֵיהֶם֙ H5921 against עַמִּ֔ים H5971 them and the people בְּאָסְרָ֖ם H631 against them when they shall bind לִשְׁתֵּ֥י H8147 themselves in their two <עֵינֹתָם כ> (עֹונֹתָֽם׃ H5868 mighty ק)

¹² זִרְע֨וּ H2232 Sow לָכֶ֤ם H0 לִצְדָקָה֙ H6666 to yourselves in righteousness קִצְר֣וּ H7114 reap לְפִי־ H6310 in חֶ֔סֶד H2617 mercy נִ֥ירוּ H5214 break up לָכֶ֖ם H0 נִ֑יר H5215 your fallow ground וְעֵת֙ H6256 for time לִדְר֣וֹשׁ H1875 to seek אֶת־ H853 יְהוָ֔ה H3069 God עַד־ H5704 Until יָב֕וֹא H935 till he come וְיֹרֶ֥ה H3384 and rain צֶ֖דֶק H6664 righteousness לָכֶֽם׃ H0

¹³ חֲרַשְׁתֶּם־ H2790 Ye have plowed רֶ֛שַׁע H7562 wickedness עַוְלָ֥תָה H5766 iniquity קְצַרְתֶּ֖ם H7114 ye have reaped אֲכַלְתֶּ֣ם H398 ye have eaten פְּרִי־ H6529 the fruit כָ֑חַשׁ H3585 of lies כִּֽי־ H3588 Because בָטַ֥חְתָּ H982 because thou didst trust בְדַרְכְּךָ֖ H1870 in thy way בְּרֹ֥ב H7230 in the multitude גִּבּוֹרֶֽיךָ׃ H1368 of thy mighty men

¹⁴ וְקָ֣אם H6965 arise שָׁאוֹן֮ H7588 Therefore shall a tumult בְּעַמֶּךָ֒ H5971 among thy people וְכָל־ H3605 and all מִבְצָרֶ֣יךָ H4013 and all thy fortresses יוּשַּׁ֔ד H7703 shall be spoiled כְּשֹׁ֧ד H7701 spoiled שַֽׁלְמַ֛ן H8020 as Shalman בֵּ֥ית H0 אַֽרְבֵ֖אל H1009 Betharbel בְּי֣וֹם H3117 in the day מִלְחָמָ֑ה H4421 of battle אֵ֥ם H517 the mother עַל־ H5921 with בָּנִ֖ים H1121 upon children רֻטָּֽשָׁה׃ H7376 was dashed in pieces

¹⁵ כָּ֗כָה H3602 So עָשָׂ֤ה H6213 do לָכֶם֙ H0 בֵּֽית־ H0 אֵ֔ל H1008 shall Bethel מִפְּנֵ֖י H6440 unto you because רָעַ֣ת H7451 of your great רָֽעַתְכֶ֑ם H7451 wickedness בַּשַּׁ֕חַר H7837 in a morning נִדְמֹ֥ה H1820 utterly נִדְמָ֖ה H1820 be cut off מֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 shall the king יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 of Israel

¹ כִּ֛י H3588 When נַ֥עַר H5288 a child יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 When Israel וָאֹהֲבֵ֑הוּ H157 then I loved וּמִמִּצְרַ֖יִם H4714 out of Egypt קָרָ֥אתִי H7121 him and called לִבְנִֽי׃ H1121 my son

² קָרְא֖וּ H7121 they called לָהֶ֑ם H0 כֵּ֚ן H3651 the more הָלְכ֣וּ H1980 them so they went מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם H6440 from them לַבְּעָלִ֣ים H1168 unto Baalim יְזַבֵּ֔חוּ H2076 they sacrificed וְלַפְּסִלִ֖ים H6456 to graven images יְקַטֵּרֽוּן׃ H6999 and burned incense

³ וְאָנֹכִ֤י H595 is I תִרְגַּ֙לְתִּי֙ H7270 taught לְאֶפְרַ֔יִם H669 Ephraim קָחָ֖ם H3947 taking עַל־ H5921 in זְרֽוֹעֹתָ֑יו H2220 them by their arms וְלֹ֥א H3808 did not יָדְע֖וּ H3045 but they knew כִּ֥י H3588 for רְפָאתִֽים׃ H7495 not that I healed

⁴ בְּחַבְלֵ֨י H2256 them with cords אָדָ֤ם H120 of a man אֶמְשְׁכֵם֙ H4900 I drew בַּעֲבֹת֣וֹת H5688 with bands אַהֲבָ֔ה H160 of love וָאֶהְיֶ֥ה H1961 became לָהֶ֛ם H0 כִּמְרִ֥ימֵי H7311 and I was to them as they that take off עֹ֖ל H5923 the yoke עַ֣ל H5921 from לְחֵיהֶ֑ם H3895 on their jaws וְאַ֥ט H328 secret אֵלָ֖יו H413 to אוֹכִֽיל׃ H398 meat

⁵ לֹ֤א H3808 They will not יָשׁוּב֙ H7725 He shall not return אֶל־ H413 to אֶ֣רֶץ H776 into the land מִצְרַ֔יִם H4714 of Egypt וְאַשּׁ֖וּר H804 but the Assyrian ה֣וּא H1931 he מַלְכּ֑וֹ H4428 shall be his king כִּ֥י H3588 Because מֵאֲנ֖וּ H3985 because they refused לָשֽׁוּב׃ H7725 to return

⁶ וְחָלָ֥ה H2342 shall abide חֶ֙רֶב֙ H2719 And the sword בְּעָרָ֔יו H5892 on his cities וְכִלְּתָ֥ה H3615 and shall consume בַדָּ֖יו H905 his branches וְאָכָ֑לָה H398 and devour מִֽמֹּעֲצ֖וֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ H4156 because of their own counsels

⁷ וְעַמִּ֥י H5971 And my people תְלוּאִ֖ים H8511 are bent לִמְשֽׁוּבָתִ֑י H4878 to backsliding וְאֶל־ H413 about עַל֙ H5920 them to the most High יִקְרָאֻ֔הוּ H7121 from me though they called יַ֖חַד H3162 none at all לֹ֥א H3808 None יְרוֹמֵם׃ H7311 would exalt

⁸ אֵ֞יךְ H349 How אֶתֶּנְךָ֣ H5414 How shall I give thee up אֶפְרַ֗יִם H669 Ephraim אֲמַגֶּנְךָ֙ H4042 deliver יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 Israel אֵ֚יךְ H349 How אֶתֶּנְךָ֣ H5414 make כְאַדְמָ֔ה H126 Admah אֲשִֽׂימְךָ֖ H7760 appoint כִּצְבֹאיִ֑ם H6636 Zeboiim נֶהְפַּ֤ךְ H2015 is turned עָלַי֙ H5921 within לִבִּ֔י H3820 care for יַ֖חַד H3162 together נִכְמְר֥וּ H3648 are kindled נִחוּמָֽי׃ H5150 within me my repentings

⁹ לֹ֤א H3808 I will not אֶֽעֱשֶׂה֙ H6213 I will not execute חֲר֣וֹן H2740 the fierceness אַפִּ֔י H639 of mine anger לֹ֥א H3808 not אָשׁ֖וּב H7725 I will not return לְשַׁחֵ֣ת H7843 to destroy אֶפְרָ֑יִם H669 Ephraim כִּ֣י H3588 For אֵ֤ל H410 for I God אָֽנֹכִי֙ H595 I וְלֹא־ H3808 not אִ֔ישׁ H582 in בְּקִרְבְּךָ֣ H7130 in the midst קָד֔וֹשׁ H6918 the Holy One וְלֹ֥א H3808 and I will not אָב֖וֹא H935 of thee and I will not enter בְּעִֽיר׃ H5892 into the city

¹⁰ אַחֲרֵ֧י H310 after יְהוָ֛ה H3068 the LORD יֵלְכ֖וּ H1980 will walk כְּאַרְיֵ֣ה H738 like a lion יִשְׁאָ֑ג H7580 he shall roar כִּֽי־ H3588 Indeed ה֣וּא H1931 He יִשְׁאַ֔ג H7580 when he shall roar וְיֶחֶרְד֥וּ H2729 shall tremble בָנִ֖ים H1121 then the children מִיָּֽם׃ H3220 from the west

¹¹ יֶחֶרְד֤וּ H2729 They shall tremble כְצִפּוֹר֙ H6833 as a bird מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם H4714 out of Egypt וּכְיוֹנָ֖ה H3123 and as a dove מֵאֶ֣רֶץ H776 out of the land אַשּׁ֑וּר H804 of Assyria וְהוֹשַׁבְתִּ֥ים H3427 and I will place עַל־ H5921 in בָּתֵּיהֶ֖ם H1004 them in their houses נְאֻם־ H5002 saith יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 the LORD ס

¹² סְבָבֻ֤נִי H5437 compasseth בְכַ֙חַשׁ֙ H3585 me about with lies אֶפְרַ֔יִם H669 Ephraim וּבְמִרְמָ֖ה H4820 with deceit בֵּ֣ית H1004 and the house יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 of Israel וִֽיהוּדָ֗ה H3063 but Judah עֹ֥ד H5750 is also רָד֙ H7300 yet ruleth עִם־ H5973 against אֵ֔ל H410 with God וְעִם־ H5973 against קְדוֹשִׁ֖ים H6918 with the saints נֶאֱמָֽן׃ H539 and is faithful

¹ אֶפְרַ֜יִם H669 Ephraim רֹעֶ֥ה H7462 feedeth ר֙וּחַ֙ H7307 on wind וְרֹדֵ֣ף H7291 and followeth קָדִ֔ים H6921 after the east wind כָּל־ H3605 he הַיּ֕וֹם H3117 he daily כָּזָ֥ב H3577 lies וָשֹׁ֖ד H7701 and desolation יַרְבֶּ֑ה H7235 increaseth וּבְרִית֙ H1285 a covenant עִם־ H5973 with אַשּׁ֣וּר H804 with the Assyrians יִכְרֹ֔תוּ H3772 and they do make וְשֶׁ֖מֶן H8081 and oil לְמִצְרַ֥יִם H4714 into Egypt יוּבָֽל׃ H2986 is carried

² וְרִ֥יב H7379 hath also a controversy לַֽיהוָ֖ה H3069 God עִם־ H5973 with יְהוּדָ֑ה H3063 with Judah וְלִפְקֹ֤ד H6485 and will punish עַֽל־ H5921 and יַעֲקֹב֙ H3290 Jacob כִּדְרָכָ֔יו H1870 according to his ways כְּמַעֲלָלָ֖יו H4611 according to his doings יָשִׁ֥יב H7725 will he recompense לֽוֹ׃ H0

³ בַּבֶּ֖טֶן H990 in the womb עָקַ֣ב H6117 by the heel אֶת־ H853 אָחִ֑יו H251 He took his brother וּבְאוֹנ֖וֹ H202 and by his strength שָׂרָ֥ה H8280 he had power אֶת־ H854 with אֱלֹהִֽים׃ H430 with God

⁴ וָיָּ֤שַׂר H7786 Yea he had power אֶל־ H413 with מַלְאָךְ֙ H4397 over the angel וַיֻּכָ֔ל H3201 and prevailed בָּכָ֖ה H1058 he wept וַיִּתְחַנֶּן־ H2603 and made supplication ל֑וֹ H0 בֵּֽית־ H0 אֵל֙ H1008 him Bethel יִמְצָאֶ֔נּוּ H4672 unto him he found וְשָׁ֖ם H8033 and there יְדַבֵּ֥ר H1696 and there he spake עִמָּֽנוּ׃ H5973 Even

⁵ וַֽיהוָ֖ה H3068 Even the LORD אֱלֹהֵ֣י H430 God הַצְּבָא֑וֹת H6635 of hosts יְהוָ֖ה H3068 the LORD זִכְרֽוֹ׃ H2143 his memorial

⁶ וְאַתָּ֖ה H859 you בֵּאלֹהֶ֣יךָ H430 thou to thy God תָשׁ֑וּב H7725 Therefore turn חֶ֤סֶד H2617 mercy וּמִשְׁפָּט֙ H4941 and judgment שְׁמֹ֔ר H8104 keep וְקַוֵּ֥ה H6960 and wait אֶל־ H413 for אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ H430 on thy God תָּמִֽיד׃ H8548 continually

⁷ כְּנַ֗עַן H3667 a merchant בְּיָד֛וֹ H3027 in his hand מֹאזְנֵ֥י H3976 the balances מִרְמָ֖ה H4820 of deceit לַעֲשֹׁ֥ק H6231 to oppress אָהֵֽב׃ H157 he loveth

⁸ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 said אֶפְרַ֔יִם H669 And Ephraim אַ֣ךְ H389 Surely עָשַׁ֔רְתִּי H6238 Yet I am become rich מָצָ֥אתִי H4672 I have found me out א֖וֹן H202 substance לִ֑י H0 כָּל־ H3605 all יְגִיעַ֕י H3018 all my labours לֹ֥א H3808 No יִמְצְאוּ־ H4672 they shall find לִ֖י H0 עָוֹ֥ן H5771 none iniquity אֲשֶׁר־ H834 which חֵֽטְא׃ H2399 in me that sin

⁹ וְאָנֹכִ֛י H595 I יְהוָ֥ה H3068 And I the LORD אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ H430 thy God מֵאֶ֣רֶץ H776 from the land מִצְרָ֑יִם H4714 of Egypt עֹ֛ד H5750 again אוֹשִֽׁיבְךָ֥ H3427 will yet make thee to dwell בָאֳהָלִ֖ים H168 in tabernacles כִּימֵ֥י H3117 as in the days מוֹעֵֽד׃ H4150 of the solemn feast

¹⁰ וְדִבַּ֙רְתִּי֙ H1696 I have also spoken עַל־ H5921 unto הַנְּבִיאִ֔ים H5030 by the prophets וְאָנֹכִ֖י H595 I חָז֣וֹן H2377 visions הִרְבֵּ֑יתִי H7235 and I have multiplied וּבְיַ֥ד H3027 by the ministry הַנְּבִיאִ֖ים H5030 of the prophets אֲדַמֶּֽה׃ H1819 and used similitudes

¹² וַיִּבְרַ֥ח H1272 fled יַעֲקֹ֖ב H3290 And Jacob שְׂדֵ֣ה H7704 into the country אֲרָ֑ם H758 of Syria וַיַּעֲבֹ֤ד H5647 served יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 and Israel בְּאִשָּׁ֔ה H802 for a wife וּבְאִשָּׁ֖ה H802 and for a wife שָׁמָֽר׃ H8104 he kept

¹³ וּבְנָבִ֕יא H5030 And by a prophet הֶעֱלָ֧ה H5927 brought יְהוָ֛ה H3068 the LORD אֶת־ H853 יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 Israel מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם H4714 out of Egypt וּבְנָבִ֖יא H5030 and by a prophet נִשְׁמָֽר׃ H8104 was he preserved

¹⁴ הִכְעִ֥יס H3707 provoked to anger אֶפְרַ֖יִם H669 Ephraim תַּמְרוּרִ֑ים H8563 most bitterly וְדָמָיו֙ H1818 his blood עָלָ֣יו H5921 and יִטּ֔וֹשׁ H5203 therefore shall he leave וְחֶ֨רְפָּת֔וֹ H2781 upon him and his reproach יָשִׁ֥יב H7725 return ל֖וֹ H0 אֲדֹנָֽיו׃ H136 his Lord

¹ כְּדַבֵּ֤ר H1696 spake אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ H669 When Ephraim רְתֵ֔ת H7578 trembling נָשָׂ֥א H5375 he exalted ה֖וּא H1931 himself בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 himself in Israel וַיֶּאְשַׁ֥ם H816 but when he offended בַּבַּ֖עַל H1168 in Baal וַיָּמֹֽת׃ H4191 he died

² וְעַתָּ֣ה ׀ H6258 and now יוֹסִ֣פוּ H3254 more and more לַחֲטֹ֗א H2398 And now they sin וַיַּעְשׂ֣וּ H6213 and have made לָהֶם֩ H0 מַסֵּכָ֨ה H4541 them molten images מִכַּסְפָּ֤ם H3701 of their silver כִּתְבוּנָם֙ H8394 according to their own understanding עֲצַבִּ֔ים H6091 idols מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה H4639 all of it the work חָרָשִׁ֖ים H2796 of the craftsmen כֻּלֹּ֑ה H3605 All לָהֶם֙ H0 הֵ֣ם H1992 They אֹמְרִ֔ים H559 they say זֹבְחֵ֣י H2076 that sacrifice אָדָ֔ם H120 of them Let the men עֲגָלִ֖ים H5695 the calves יִשָּׁקֽוּן׃ H5401 kiss

³ לָכֵ֗ן H3651 Therefore יִֽהְיוּ֙ H1961 become כַּעֲנַן־ H6051 cloud בֹּ֔קֶר H1242 Therefore they shall be as the morning וְכַטַּ֖ל H2919 dew מַשְׁכִּ֣ים H7925 and as the early הֹלֵ֑ךְ H1980 that passeth away כְּמֹץ֙ H4671 as the chaff יְסֹעֵ֣ר H5590 is driven with the whirlwind מִגֹּ֔רֶן H1637 out of the floor וּכְעָשָׁ֖ן H6227 and as the smoke מֵאֲרֻבָּֽה׃ H699 out of the chimney

⁴ וְאָנֹכִ֛י H595 I יְהוָ֥ה H3068 Yet I the LORD אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ H430 thy God מֵאֶ֣רֶץ H776 from the land מִצְרָ֑יִם H4714 of Egypt וֵאלֹהִ֤ים H430 no god זֽוּלָתִי֙ H2108 but me לֹ֣א H3808 were not תֵדָ֔ע H3045 and thou shalt know וּמוֹשִׁ֥יעַ H3467 for no saviour אַ֖יִן H369 there בִּלְתִּֽי׃ H1115 beside me

⁵ אֲנִ֥י H589 I יְדַעְתִּ֖יךָ H3045 I did know בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר H4057 thee in the wilderness בְּאֶ֖רֶץ H776 in the land תַּלְאֻבֽוֹת׃ H8514 of great drought

⁶ כְּמַרְעִיתָם֙ H4830 According to their pasture וַיִּשְׂבָּ֔עוּ H7646 so were they filled שָׂבְע֖וּ H7646 they were filled וַיָּ֣רָם H7311 was exalted לִבָּ֑ם H3820 and their heart עַל־ H5921 and כֵּ֖ן H3651 after that שְׁכֵחֽוּנִי׃ H7911 therefore have they forgotten

⁷ וָאֱהִ֥י H1961 become לָהֶ֖ם H0 כְּמוֹ־ H3644 will be like שָׁ֑חַל H7826 Therefore I will be unto them as a lion כְּנָמֵ֖ר H5246 as a leopard עַל־ H5921 by דֶּ֥רֶךְ H1870 by the way אָשֽׁוּר׃ H7789 will I observe

⁸ אֶפְגְּשֵׁם֙ H6298 I will meet כְּדֹ֣ב H1677 them as a bear שַׁכּ֔וּל H7909 bereaved וְאֶקְרַ֖ע H7167 and will rend סְג֣וֹר H5458 the caul לִבָּ֑ם H3820 of their heart וְאֹכְלֵ֥ם H398 and there will I devour שָׁם֙ H8033 There כְּלָבִ֔יא H3833 them like a lion חַיַּ֥ת H2416 beast הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה H7704 the wild תְּבַקְּעֵֽם׃ H1234 shall tear

⁹ שִֽׁחֶתְךָ֥ H7843 thou hast destroyed יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 O Israel כִּֽי־ H3588 for בִ֥י H0 בְעֶזְרֶֽךָ׃ H5828 thyself but in me thine help

¹⁰ אֱהִ֤י H165 I will מַלְכְּךָ֙ H4428 be thy king אֵפ֔וֹא H645 where וְיוֹשִֽׁיעֲךָ֖ H3467 that may save בְּכָל־ H3605 all עָרֶ֑יךָ H5892 your cities וְשֹׁ֣פְטֶ֔יךָ H8199 and your judges אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 of whom אָמַ֔רְתָּ H559 of whom thou saidst תְּנָה־ H5414 Give לִּ֖י H0 מֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 me a king וְשָׂרִֽים׃ H8269 captain

¹¹ אֶֽתֶּן־ H5414 I gave לְךָ֥ H0 מֶ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 thee a king בְּאַפִּ֔י H639 in mine anger וְאֶקַּ֖ח H3947 and took בְּעֶבְרָתִֽי׃ H5678 away in my wrath ס

¹² צָרוּר֙ H6887 bound up עֲוֹ֣ן H5771 The iniquity אֶפְרָ֔יִם H669 of Ephraim צְפוּנָ֖ה H6845 hid חַטָּאתֽוֹ׃ H2403 his sin

¹³ חֶבְלֵ֥י H2256 The sorrows יֽוֹלֵדָ֖ה H3205 of a travailing woman יָבֹ֣אוּ H935 shall come ל֑וֹ H0 הוּא־ H1931 he בֵן֙ H1121 son לֹ֣א H3808 is not חָכָ֔ם H2450 upon him he an unwise כִּֽי־ H3588 is not עֵ֥ת H6256 long לֹֽא־ H3808 not יַעֲמֹ֖ד H5975 for he should not stay בְּמִשְׁבַּ֥ר H4866 in the breaking forth בָּנִֽים׃ H1121 of children

¹⁴ מִיַּ֤ד H3027 them from the power שְׁאוֹל֙ H7585 of the grave אֶפְדֵּ֔ם H6299 I will ransom מִמָּ֖וֶת H4194 them from death אֶגְאָלֵ֑ם H1350 I will redeem אֱהִ֨י H165 I will דְבָרֶיךָ֜ H1698 be thy plagues מָ֗וֶת H4194 O death אֱהִ֤י H165 I will קָֽטָבְךָ֙ H6987 be thy destruction שְׁא֔וֹל H7585 O grave נֹ֖חַם H5164 repentance יִסָּתֵ֥ר H5641 shall be hid מֵעֵינָֽי׃ H5869 from mine eyes

¹⁵ כִּ֣י H3588 for ה֔וּא H1931 he בֵּ֥ן H996 among אַחִ֖ים H251 among brethren יַפְרִ֑יא H6500 Though he be fruitful יָב֣וֹא H935 shall come קָדִים֩ H6921 an east wind ר֨וּחַ H7307 the wind יְהוָ֜ה H3068 of the LORD מִמִּדְבָּ֣ר H4057 from the wilderness עֹלֶ֗ה H5927 shall come up וְיֵב֤וֹשׁ H954 shall become dry מְקוֹרוֹ֙ H4726 and his spring וְיֶחֱרַ֣ב H2717 shall be dried up מַעְיָנ֔וֹ H4599 and his fountain ה֣וּא H1931 It יִשְׁסֶ֔ה H8154 he shall spoil אוֹצַ֖ר H214 the treasure כָּל־ H3605 of every כְּלִ֥י H3627 vessels חֶמְדָּֽה׃ H2532 of all pleasant

¹⁶ תֶּאְשַׁם֙ H816 shall become desolate שֹֽׁמְר֔וֹן H8111 Samaria כִּ֥י H3588 for מָרְתָ֖ה H4784 for she hath rebelled בֵּֽאלֹהֶ֑יהָ H430 against her God בַּחֶ֣רֶב H2719 by the sword יִפֹּ֔לוּ H5307 they shall fall עֹלְלֵיהֶ֣ם H5768 their infants יְרֻטָּ֔שׁוּ H7376 shall be dashed in pieces וְהָרִיּוֹתָ֖יו H2030 and their women with child יְבֻקָּֽעוּ׃ H1234 shall be ripped up פ

¹ שׁ֚וּבָה H7725 return יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 O Israel עַ֖ד H5704 against יְהוָ֣ה H3068 unto the LORD אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ H430 thy God כִּ֥י H3588 for כָשַׁ֖לְתָּ H3782 for thou hast fallen בַּעֲוֹנֶֽךָ׃ H5771 by thine iniquity

² קְח֤וּ H3947 Take עִמָּכֶם֙ H5973 with דְּבָרִ֔ים H1697 with you words וְשׁ֖וּבוּ H7725 and turn אֶל־ H413 to יְהוָ֑ה H3068 to the LORD אִמְר֣וּ H559 say אֵלָ֗יו H413 away כָּל־ H3605 all תִּשָּׂ֤א H5375 unto him Take away עָוֹן֙ H5771 all iniquity וְקַח־ H3947 and receive ט֔וֹב H2896 graciously וּֽנְשַׁלְּמָ֥ה H7999 so will we render פָרִ֖ים H6499 the calves שְׂפָתֵֽינוּ׃ H8193 of our lips

³ אַשּׁ֣וּר ׀ H804 Asshur לֹ֣א H3808 Nor יוֹשִׁיעֵ֗נוּ H3467 shall not save עַל־ H5921 on סוּס֙ H5483 upon horses לֹ֣א H3808 Nor נִרְכָּ֔ב H7392 us we will not ride וְלֹא־ H3808 Nor נֹ֥אמַר H559 neither will we say ע֛וֹד H5750 again אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ H430 our gods לְמַעֲשֵׂ֣ה H4639 any more to the work יָדֵ֑ינוּ H3027 of our hands אֲשֶׁר־ H834 after בְּךָ֖ H0 יְרֻחַ֥ם H7355 findeth mercy יָתֽוֹם׃ H3490 for in thee the fatherless

⁴ אֶרְפָּא֙ H7495 I will heal מְשׁ֣וּבָתָ֔ם H4878 their backsliding אֹהֲבֵ֖ם H157 I will love נְדָבָ֑ה H5071 them freely כִּ֛י H3588 for שָׁ֥ב H7725 is turned away אַפִּ֖י H639 for mine anger מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ H4480 at

⁵ אֶהְיֶ֤ה H1961 will be like כַטַּל֙ H2919 I will be as the dew לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 unto Israel יִפְרַ֖ח H6524 he shall grow כַּשּֽׁוֹשַׁנָּ֑ה H7799 as the lily וְיַ֥ךְ H5221 and cast forth שָׁרָשָׁ֖יו H8328 his roots כַּלְּבָנֽוֹן׃ H3844 as Lebanon

⁶ יֵֽלְכוּ֙ H1980 will sprout יֹֽנְקוֹתָ֔יו H3127 His branches וִיהִ֥י H1961 will be like כַזַּ֖יִת H2132 shall be as the olive tree הוֹד֑וֹ H1935 and his beauty וְרֵ֥יחַֽ H7381 and his smell ל֖וֹ H0 כַּלְּבָנֽוֹן׃ H3844 as Lebanon

⁷ יָשֻׁ֙בוּ֙ H7725 shall return יֹשְׁבֵ֣י H3427 They that dwell בְצִלּ֔וֹ H6738 under his shadow יְחַיּ֥וּ H2421 they shall revive דָגָ֖ן H1715 the corn וְיִפְרְח֣וּ H6524 and grow כַגָּ֑פֶן H1612 as the vine זִכְר֖וֹ H2143 the scent כְּיֵ֥ין H3196 thereof as the wine לְבָנֽוֹן׃ H3844 of Lebanon ס

⁸ אֶפְרַ֕יִם H669 Ephraim מַה־ H4100 what לִּ֥י H0 ע֖וֹד H5750 more לָֽעֲצַבִּ֑ים H6091 idol אֲנִ֧י H589 I עָנִ֣יתִי H6030 testify וַאֲשׁוּרֶ֗נּוּ H7789 and observed אֲנִי֙ H589 I כִּבְר֣וֹשׁ H1265 fir tree רַֽעֲנָ֔ן H7488 him I like a green מִמֶּ֖נִּי H4480 at פֶּרְיְךָ֥ H6529 From me is thy fruit נִמְצָֽא׃ H4672 found

⁹ מִ֤י H4310 Whoever חָכָם֙ H2450 Who wise וְיָ֣בֵֽן H995 and he shall understand אֵ֔לֶּה H428 these נָב֖וֹן H995 these ? prudent וְיֵֽדָעֵ֑ם H3045 and he shall know כִּֽי־ H3588 for יְשָׁרִ֞ים H3477 right דַּרְכֵ֣י H1870 them? for the ways יְהוָ֗ה H3069 God וְצַדִּקִים֙ H6662 and the just יֵ֣לְכוּ H1980 will walk בָ֔ם H0 וּפֹשְׁעִ֖ים H6586 in them but the transgressors יִכָּ֥שְׁלוּ H3782 shall fall בָֽם׃ H0
