¹ וְהַמֶּ֤לֶךְ H4428 Now king דָּוִד֙ H1732 David זָקֵ֔ן H2204 was old בָּ֖א H935 stricken בַּיָּמִ֑ים H3117 in years וַיְכַסֻּ֙הוּ֙ H3680 and they covered בַּבְּגָדִ֔ים H899 him with clothes וְלֹ֥א H3808 no יִחַ֖ם H3179 but he gat no heat לֽוֹ׃ H0

² וַיֹּ֧אמְרוּ H559 said ל֣וֹ H0 עֲבָדָ֗יו H5650 Wherefore his servants יְבַקְשׁ֞וּ H1245 unto him Let there be sought לַאדֹנִ֤י H113 for my lord הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 the king נַעֲרָ֣ה H5291 a young בְתוּלָ֔ה H1330 virgin וְעָֽמְדָה֙ H5975 and let her stand לִפְנֵ֣י H6440 before הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 the king וּתְהִי־ H1961 and become ל֖וֹ H0 סֹכֶ֑נֶת H5532 and let her cherish וְשָׁכְבָ֣ה H7901 him and let her lie בְחֵיקֶ֔ךָ H2436 in thy bosom וְחַ֖ם H2552 may get heat לַאדֹנִ֥י H113 that my lord הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 the king

³ וַיְבַקְשׁוּ֙ H1245 So they sought נַעֲרָ֣ה H5291 damsel יָפָ֔ה H3303 for a fair בְּכֹ֖ל H3605 all גְּב֣וּל H1366 throughout all the coasts יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 of Israel וַֽיִּמְצְא֗וּ H4672 and found אֶת־ H853 אֲבִישַׁג֙ H49 Abishag הַשּׁ֣וּנַמִּ֔ית H7767 a Shunammite וַיָּבִ֥אוּ H935 and brought אֹתָ֖הּ H853 לַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 her to the king

⁴ וְהַֽנַּעֲרָ֖ה H5291 And the damsel יָפָ֣ה H3303 fair עַד־ H5704 against מְאֹ֑ד H3966 very וַתְּהִ֨י H1961 became לַמֶּ֤לֶךְ H4428 the king סֹכֶ֙נֶת֙ H5532 and cherished וַתְּשָׁ֣רְתֵ֔הוּ H8334 and ministered וְהַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 to him but the king לֹ֥א H3808 did not יְדָעָֽהּ׃ H3045 knew

⁵ וַאֲדֹנִיָּ֧ה H138 Then Adonijah בֶן־ H1121 the son חַגִּ֛ית H2294 of Haggith מִתְנַשֵּׂ֥א H5375 exalted לֵאמֹ֖ר H559 himself saying אֲנִ֣י H589 I אֶמְלֹ֑ךְ H4427 I will be king וַיַּ֣עַשׂ H6213 and he prepared ל֗וֹ H0 רֶ֚כֶב H7393 him chariots וּפָ֣רָשִׁ֔ים H6571 and horsemen וַחֲמִשִּׁ֥ים H2572 and fifty אִ֖ישׁ H376 men רָצִ֥ים H7323 to run לְפָנָֽיו׃ H6440 before

⁶ וְלֹֽא־ H3808 had never עֲצָב֨וֹ H6087 had not displeased אָבִ֤יו H1 And his father מִיָּמָיו֙ H3117 him at any time לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 in saying מַדּ֖וּעַ H4069 Why כָּ֣כָה H3602 after that manner עָשִׂ֑יתָ H6213 Why hast thou done so וְגַם־ H1571 again ה֤וּא H1931 he טֽוֹב־ H2896 man תֹּ֙אַר֙ H8389 be drawn מְאֹ֔ד H3966 ? and he also very וְאֹת֥וֹ H853 יָלְדָ֖ה H3205 and bare אַחֲרֵ֥י H310 him after אַבְשָׁלֽוֹם׃ H53 Absalom

⁷ וַיִּהְי֣וּ H1961 become דְבָרָ֔יו H1697 And he conferred עִ֚ם H5973 with יוֹאָ֣ב H3097 with Joab בֶּן־ H1121 the son צְרוּיָ֔ה H6870 of Zeruiah וְעִ֖ם H5973 and with אֶבְיָתָ֣ר H54 and with Abiathar הַכֹּהֵ֑ן H3548 the priest וַֽיַּעְזְר֔וּ H5826 helped אַחֲרֵ֖י H310 and they following אֲדֹנִיָּֽה׃ H138 Adonijah

⁸ וְצָד֣וֹק H6659 But Zadok הַ֠כֹּהֵן H3548 the priest וּבְנָיָ֨הוּ H1141 and Benaiah בֶן־ H1121 the son יְהוֹיָדָ֜ע H3077 of Jehoiada וְנָתָ֤ן H5416 and Nathan הַנָּבִיא֙ H5030 the prophet וְשִׁמְעִ֣י H8096 and Shimei וְרֵעִ֔י H7472 and Rei וְהַגִּבּוֹרִ֖ים H1368 and the mighty men אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 who לְדָוִ֑ד H1732 which to David לֹ֥א H3808 not הָי֖וּ H1961 become עִם־ H5973 with אֲדֹנִיָּֽהוּ׃ H138 were not with Adonijah

⁹ וַיִּזְבַּ֣ח H2076 slew אֲדֹנִיָּ֗הוּ H138 And Adonijah צֹ֤אן H6629 sheep וּבָקָר֙ H1241 and oxen וּמְרִ֔יא H4806 and fat cattle עִ֚ם H5973 by אֶ֣בֶן H68 by the stone הַזֹּחֶ֔לֶת H2120 of Zoheleth אֲשֶׁר־ H834 which אֵ֖צֶל H681 which by עֵ֣ין H0 רֹגֵ֑ל H5883 Enrogel וַיִּקְרָ֗א H7121 and called אֶת־ H853 כָּל־ H3605 all אֶחָיו֙ H251 all his brethren בְּנֵ֣י H1121 sons הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 the king's וּלְכָל־ H3605 and all אַנְשֵׁ֥י H376 the men יְהוּדָ֖ה H3063 of Judah עַבְדֵ֥י H5650 servants הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 the king's

¹⁰ וְֽאֶת־ H853 נָתָן֩ H5416 But Nathan הַנָּבִ֨יא H5030 the prophet וּבְנָיָ֜הוּ H1141 and Benaiah וְאֶת־ H853 הַגִּבּוֹרִ֛ים H1368 and the mighty men וְאֶת־ H853 שְׁלֹמֹ֥ה H8010 and Solomon אָחִ֖יו H251 his brother לֹ֥א H3808 did not קָרָֽא׃ H7121 he called

¹¹ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 spake נָתָ֗ן H5416 Wherefore Nathan אֶל־ H413 about בַּת־ H0 שֶׁ֤בַע H1339 unto Bathsheba אֵם־ H517 the mother שְׁלֹמֹה֙ H8010 of Solomon לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 saying הֲל֣וֹא H3808 not שָׁמַ֔עַתְּ H8085 Hast thou not heard כִּ֥י H3588 for מָלַ֖ךְ H4427 doth reign אֲדֹנִיָּ֣הוּ H138 that Adonijah בֶן־ H1121 the son חַגִּ֑ית H2294 of Haggith וַאֲדֹנֵ֥ינוּ H113 our lord דָוִ֖ד H1732 and David לֹ֥א H3808 does not יָדָֽע׃ H3045 knoweth

¹² וְעַתָּ֕ה H6258 now לְכִ֛י H1980 come אִיעָצֵ֥ךְ H3289 give נָ֖א H4994 please עֵצָ֑ה H6098 counsel וּמַלְּטִי֙ H4422 that thou mayest save אֶת־ H853 נַפְשֵׁ֔ךְ H5315 thine own life וְאֶת־ H853 נֶ֥פֶשׁ H5315 and the life בְּנֵ֖ךְ H1121 of thy son שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃ H8010 Solomon

¹³ לְכִ֞י H1980 Go וּבֹ֣אִי ׀ H935 and get thee in אֶל־ H413 to הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 unto king דָּוִ֗ד H1732 David וְאָמַ֤רְתְּ H559 and say אֵלָיו֙ H413 about הֲלֹֽא־ H3808 not אַתָּ֞ה H859 you אֲדֹנִ֣י H113 unto him Didst not thou my lord הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ H4428 O king נִשְׁבַּ֤עְתָּ H7650 swear לַאֲמָֽתְךָ֙ H519 unto thine handmaid לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 saying כִּֽי־ H3588 Assuredly שְׁלֹמֹ֤ה H8010 Solomon בְנֵךְ֙ H1121 thy son יִמְלֹ֣ךְ H4427 shall reign אַחֲרַ֔י H310 after וְה֖וּא H1931 and he יֵשֵׁ֣ב H3427 me and he shall sit עַל־ H5921 and כִּסְאִ֑י H3678 seat וּמַדּ֖וּעַ H4069 how מָלַ֥ךְ H4427 reign אֲדֹנִיָֽהוּ׃ H138 has Adonijah

¹⁴ הִנֵּ֗ה H2009 Behold עוֹדָ֛ךְ H5750 are still מְדַבֶּ֥רֶת H1696 Behold while thou yet talkest שָׁ֖ם H8033 there עִם־ H5973 with הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 there with the king וַאֲנִי֙ H589 I אָב֣וֹא H935 I also will come in אַחֲרַ֔יִךְ H310 after וּמִלֵּאתִ֖י H4390 thee and confirm אֶת־ H853 דְּבָרָֽיִךְ׃ H1697 thy words

¹⁵ וַתָּבֹ֨א H935 went in בַת־ H0 שֶׁ֤בֶע H1339 And Bathsheba אֶל־ H413 to הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 unto the king הַחַ֔דְרָה H2315 into the chamber וְהַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 and the king זָקֵ֣ן H2204 old מְאֹ֑ד H3966 was very וַֽאֲבִישַׁג֙ H49 and Abishag הַשּׁ֣וּנַמִּ֔ית H7767 the Shunammite מְשָׁרַ֖ת H8334 ministered אֶת־ H853 הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 unto the king

¹⁶ וַתִּקֹּ֣ד H6915 bowed בַּת־ H0 שֶׁ֔בַע H1339 And Bathsheba וַתִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ H7812 and did obeisance לַמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 unto the king וַיֹּ֥אמֶר H559 said הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 And the king מַה־ H4100 What לָּֽךְ׃ H0

¹⁷ וַתֹּ֣אמֶר H559 And she said ל֗וֹ H0 אֲדֹנִי֙ H113 unto him My lord אַתָּ֨ה H859 you נִשְׁבַּ֜עְתָּ H7650 thou swarest בַּֽיהוָ֤ה H3068 by the LORD אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ H430 thy God לַֽאֲמָתֶ֔ךָ H519 unto thine handmaid כִּֽי־ H3588 Surely שְׁלֹמֹ֥ה H8010 Assuredly Solomon בְנֵ֖ךְ H1121 thy son יִמְלֹ֣ךְ H4427 shall reign אַחֲרָ֑י H310 after וְה֖וּא H1931 and he יֵשֵׁ֥ב H3427 me and he shall sit עַל־ H5921 upon כִּסְאִֽי׃ H3678 upon my throne

¹⁸ וְעַתָּ֕ה H6258 Now הִנֵּ֥ה H2009 behold אֲדֹנִיָּ֖ה H138 And now behold Adonijah מָלָ֑ךְ H4427 reigneth וְעַתָּ֛ה H6258 and now אֲדֹנִ֥י H113 and now my lord הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 the king לֹ֥א H3808 not יָדָֽעְתָּ׃ H3045 thou knowest

¹⁹ וַ֠יִּזְבַּח H2076 And he hath slain שׁ֥וֹר H7794 oxen וּֽמְרִיא־ H4806 and fat cattle וְצֹאן֮ H6629 and sheep לָרֹב֒ H7230 in abundance וַיִּקְרָא֙ H7121 and hath called לְכָל־ H3605 all בְּנֵ֣י H1121 all the sons הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 of the king וּלְאֶבְיָתָר֙ H54 and Abiathar הַכֹּהֵ֔ן H3548 the priest וּלְיֹאָ֖ב H3097 and Joab שַׂ֣ר H8269 the captain הַצָּבָ֑א H6635 of the host וְלִשְׁלֹמֹ֥ה H8010 but Solomon עַבְדְּךָ֖ H5650 thy servant לֹ֥א H3808 has not קָרָֽא׃ H7121 hath he not called

²⁰ וְאַתָּה֙ H859 you אֲדֹנִ֣י H113 And thou my lord הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 O king עֵינֵ֥י H5869 the eyes כָל־ H3605 of all יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 of all Israel עָלֶ֑יךָ H5921 and לְהַגִּ֣יד H5046 upon thee that thou shouldest tell לָהֶ֔ם H0 מִ֗י H4310 who יֵשֵׁ֛ב H3427 them who shall sit עַל־ H5921 on כִּסֵּ֥א H3678 on the throne אֲדֹנִֽי־ H113 of my lord הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 the king אַחֲרָֽיו׃ H310 after

²¹ וְהָיָ֕ה H1961 will come כִּשְׁכַ֥ב H7901 shall sleep אֲדֹנִֽי־ H113 Otherwise it shall come to pass when my lord הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 the king עִם־ H5973 with אֲבֹתָ֑יו H1 with his fathers וְהָיִ֗יתִי H1961 will come אֲנִ֛י H589 I וּבְנִ֥י H1121 that I and my son שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה H8010 Solomon חַטָּאִֽים׃ H2400 shall be counted offenders

²² וְהִנֵּ֛ה H2009 Behold עוֹדֶ֥נָּה H5750 was still מְדַבֶּ֖רֶת H1696 And lo while she yet talked עִם־ H5973 with הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 with the king וְנָתָ֥ן H5416 Nathan הַנָּבִ֖יא H5030 the prophet בָּֽא׃ H935 also came in

²³ וַיַּגִּ֤ידוּ H5046 And they told לַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 the king לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 saying הִנֵּ֖ה H2009 Here נָתָ֣ן H5416 Behold Nathan הַנָּבִ֑יא H5030 the prophet וַיָּבֹא֙ H935 And when he was come in לִפְנֵ֣י H6440 before הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 the king וַיִּשְׁתַּ֧חוּ H7812 he bowed לַמֶּ֛לֶךְ H4428 himself before the king עַל־ H5921 with אַפָּ֖יו H639 with his face אָֽרְצָה׃ H776 to the ground

²⁴ וַיֹּאמֶר֮ H559 said נָתָן֒ H5416 And Nathan אֲדֹנִ֣י H113 My lord הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 O king אַתָּ֣ה H859 have you אָמַ֔רְתָּ H559 hast thou said אֲדֹנִיָּ֖הוּ H138 Adonijah יִמְלֹ֣ךְ H4427 shall reign אַחֲרָ֑י H310 after וְה֖וּא H1931 and he יֵשֵׁ֥ב H3427 me and he shall sit עַל־ H5921 and כִּסְאִֽי׃ H3678 seat

²⁵ כִּ֣י ׀ H3588 for יָרַ֣ד H3381 For he is gone down הַיּ֗וֹם H3117 this day וַ֠יִּזְבַּח H2076 and hath slain שׁ֥וֹר H7794 oxen וּֽמְרִיא־ H4806 and fat cattle וְצֹאן֮ H6629 and sheep לָרֹב֒ H7230 in abundance וַיִּקְרָא֩ H7121 and hath called לְכָל־ H3605 all בְּנֵ֨י H1121 sons הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ H4428 all the king's וּלְשָׂרֵ֤י H8269 and the captains הַצָּבָא֙ H6635 of the host וּלְאֶבְיָתָ֣ר H54 and Abiathar הַכֹּהֵ֔ן H3548 the priest וְהִנָּ֛ם H2009 and behold אֹכְלִ֥ים H398 and behold they eat וְשֹׁתִ֖ים H8354 and drink לְפָנָ֑יו H6440 before וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ H559 him and say יְחִ֖י H2421 God save הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ H4428 king אֲדֹנִיָּֽהוּ׃ H138 Adonijah

²⁶ וְלִ֣י H0 אֲנִֽי־ H589 me עַ֠בְדֶּךָ H5650 But me me thy servant וּלְצָדֹ֨ק H6659 and Zadok הַכֹּהֵ֜ן H3548 the priest וְלִבְנָיָ֧הוּ H1141 and Benaiah בֶן־ H1121 the son יְהוֹיָדָ֛ע H3077 of Jehoiada וְלִשְׁלֹמֹ֥ה H8010 Solomon עַבְדְּךָ֖ H5650 and thy servant לֹ֥א H3808 has not קָרָֽא׃ H7121 hath he not called

²⁷ אִ֗ם H518 lo מֵאֵת֙ H853 אֲדֹנִ֣י H113 by my lord הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 the king נִהְיָ֖ה H1961 done הַדָּבָ֣ר H1697 Is this thing הַזֶּ֑ה H2088 has this וְלֹ֤א H3808 have not הוֹדַ֙עְתָּ֙ H3045 and thou hast not shewed אֶֽת־ H853 <עַבְדֶּיךָ כ> (עַבְדְּךָ֔ H5650 bondage ק) מִ֗י H4310 who יֵשֵׁ֛ב H3427 who should sit עַל־ H5921 on כִּסֵּ֥א H3678 on the throne אֲדֹנִֽי־ H113 of my lord הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 the king אַחֲרָֽיו׃ H310 after ס

²⁸ וַיַּ֨עַן H6030 answered הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ H4428 Then king דָּוִד֙ H1732 David וַיֹּ֔אמֶר H559 and said קִרְאוּ־ H7121 Call לִ֖י H0 לְבַת־ H0 שָׁ֑בַע H1339 me Bathsheba וַתָּבֹא֙ H935 And she came לִפְנֵ֣י H6440 presence הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 into the king's וַֽתַּעֲמֹ֖ד H5975 and stood לִפְנֵ֥י H6440 before הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 the king

²⁹ וַיִּשָּׁבַ֥ע H7650 sware הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 And the king וַיֹּאמַ֑ר H559 and said חַי־ H2416 liveth יְהוָ֕ה H3068 the LORD אֲשֶׁר־ H834 who פָּדָ֥ה H6299 that hath redeemed אֶת־ H853 נַפְשִׁ֖י H5315 my soul מִכָּל־ H3605 all צָרָֽה׃ H6869 out of all distress

³⁰ כִּ֡י H3588 surely כַּאֲשֶׁר֩ H834 I נִשְׁבַּ֨עְתִּי H7650 Even as I sware לָ֜ךְ H0 בַּיהוָ֨ה H3068 unto thee by the LORD אֱלֹהֵ֤י H430 God יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 of Israel לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 saying כִּֽי־ H3588 surely שְׁלֹמֹ֤ה H8010 Assuredly Solomon בְנֵךְ֙ H1121 thy son יִמְלֹ֣ךְ H4427 shall reign אַחֲרַ֔י H310 after וְה֛וּא H1931 and he יֵשֵׁ֥ב H3427 me and he shall sit עַל־ H5921 on כִּסְאִ֖י H3678 upon my throne תַּחְתָּ֑י H8478 Thahash כִּ֛י H3588 surely כֵּ֥ן H3651 so אֶעֱשֶׂ֖ה H6213 in my stead even so will I certainly do הַיּ֥וֹם H3117 this day הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 this

³¹ וַתִּקֹּ֨ד H6915 bowed בַּת־ H0 שֶׁ֤בַע H1339 Then Bathsheba אַפַּ֙יִם֙ H639 with face אֶ֔רֶץ H776 to the earth וַתִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ H7812 and did reverence לַמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 to the king וַתֹּ֕אמֶר H559 and said יְחִ֗י H2421 live אֲדֹנִ֛י H113 Let my lord הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ H4428 king דָּוִ֖ד H1732 David לְעֹלָֽם׃ H5769 for ever פ

³² וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ׀ H559 said הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 And king דָּוִ֗ד H1732 David קִרְאוּ־ H7121 Call לִ֞י H0 לְצָד֤וֹק H6659 me Zadok הַכֹּהֵן֙ H3548 the priest וּלְנָתָ֣ן H5416 and Nathan הַנָּבִ֔יא H5030 the prophet וְלִבְנָיָ֖הוּ H1141 and Benaiah בֶּן־ H1121 the son יְהוֹיָדָ֑ע H3077 of Jehoiada וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ H935 And they came לִפְנֵ֥י H6440 before הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 the king

³³ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 also said הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ H4428 The king לָהֶ֗ם H0 קְח֤וּ H3947 unto them Take עִמָּכֶם֙ H5973 with אֶת־ H853 עַבְדֵ֣י H5650 with you the servants אֲדֹנֵיכֶ֔ם H113 of your lord וְהִרְכַּבְתֶּם֙ H7392 to ride אֶת־ H853 שְׁלֹמֹ֣ה H8010 and cause Solomon בְנִ֔י H1121 my son עַל־ H5921 on הַפִּרְדָּ֖ה H6506 upon mine own mule אֲשֶׁר־ H834 after לִ֑י H0 וְהוֹרַדְתֶּ֥ם H3381 and bring him down אֹת֖וֹ H853 אֶל־ H413 to גִּחֽוֹן׃ H1521 to Gihon

³⁴ וּמָשַׁ֣ח H4886 anoint אֹת֣וֹ H853 שָׁ֠ם H8033 there צָד֨וֹק H6659 And let Zadok הַכֹּהֵ֜ן H3548 the priest וְנָתָ֧ן H5416 and Nathan הַנָּבִ֛יא H5030 the prophet לְמֶ֖לֶךְ H4428 him there king עַל־ H5921 over יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 over Israel וּתְקַעְתֶּם֙ H8628 and blow בַּשּׁוֹפָ֔ר H7782 ye with the trumpet וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֕ם H559 and say יְחִ֖י H2421 God save הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ H4428 king שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃ H8010 Solomon

³⁵ וַעֲלִיתֶ֣ם H5927 Then ye shall come up אַחֲרָ֗יו H310 after וּבָא֙ H935 him that he may come וְיָשַׁ֣ב H3427 and sit עַל־ H5921 over כִּסְאִ֔י H3678 upon my throne וְה֥וּא H1931 he יִמְלֹ֖ךְ H4427 for he shall be king תַּחְתָּ֑י H8478 my place וְאֹת֤וֹ H854 for צִוִּ֙יתִי֙ H6680 in my stead and I have appointed לִֽהְי֣וֹת H1961 become נָגִ֔יד H5057 him to be ruler עַל־ H5921 over יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 over Israel וְעַל־ H5921 over יְהוּדָֽה׃ H3063 and over Judah

³⁶ וַיַּ֨עַן H6030 answered בְּנָיָ֧הוּ H1141 And Benaiah בֶן־ H1121 the son יְהֽוֹיָדָ֛ע H3077 of Jehoiada אֶת־ H853 הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 the king וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ׀ H559 and said אָמֵ֑ן H543 Amen כֵּ֚ן H3651 Thus יֹאמַ֣ר H559 say יְהוָ֔ה H3068 the LORD אֱלֹהֵ֖י H430 God אֲדֹנִ֥י H113 of my lord הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 the king

³⁷ כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 after הָיָ֤ה H1961 been יְהוָה֙ H3068 As the LORD עִם־ H5973 with אֲדֹנִ֣י H113 hath been with my lord הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 the king כֵּ֖ן H3651 so <יְהִי כ> (יִֽהְיֶ֣ה H1961 has been ק) עִם־ H5973 with שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה H8010 even so be he with Solomon וִֽיגַדֵּל֙ H1431 greater אֶת־ H853 כִּסְא֔וֹ H3678 his throne מִ֨כִּסֵּ֔א H3678 than the throne אֲדֹנִ֖י H113 of my lord הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ H4428 king דָּוִֽד׃ H1732 David

³⁸ וַיֵּ֣רֶד H3381 went down צָד֣וֹק H6659 So Zadok הַ֠כֹּהֵן H3548 the priest וְנָתָ֨ן H5416 and Nathan הַנָּבִ֜יא H5030 the prophet וּבְנָיָ֣הוּ H1141 and Benaiah בֶן־ H1121 the son יְהוֹיָדָ֗ע H3077 of Jehoiada וְהַכְּרֵתִי֙ H3746 captains וְהַפְּלֵתִ֔י H6432 and the Pelethites וַיַּרְכִּ֙בוּ֙ H7392 to ride אֶת־ H853 שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 and caused Solomon עַל־ H5921 and פִּרְדַּ֖ת H6506 mule הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 upon king דָּוִ֑ד H1732 David's וַיֹּלִ֥כוּ H1980 and brought אֹת֖וֹ H853 עַל־ H5921 and גִּחֽוֹן׃ H1521 him to Gihon

³⁹ וַיִּקַּח֩ H3947 took צָד֨וֹק H6659 And Zadok הַכֹּהֵ֜ן H3548 the priest אֶת־ H853 קֶ֤רֶן H7161 an horn הַשֶּׁ֙מֶן֙ H8081 of oil מִן־ H4480 from הָאֹ֔הֶל H168 out of the tabernacle וַיִּמְשַׁ֖ח H4886 and anointed אֶת־ H853 שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה H8010 Solomon וַֽיִּתְקְעוּ֙ H8628 And they blew בַּשּׁוֹפָ֔ר H7782 the trumpet וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ H559 said כָּל־ H3605 and all הָעָ֔ם H5971 and all the people יְחִ֖י H2421 God save הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ H4428 king שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃ H8010 Solomon

⁴⁰ וַיַּעֲל֤וּ H5927 came up כָל־ H3605 All הָעָם֙ H5971 And all the people אַֽחֲרָ֔יו H310 after וְהָעָם֙ H5971 him and the people מְחַלְּלִ֣ים H2490 piped בַּחֲלִלִ֔ים H2485 with pipes וּשְׂמֵחִ֖ים H8056 and rejoiced שִׂמְחָ֣ה H8057 joy גְדוֹלָ֑ה H1419 with great וַתִּבָּקַ֥ע H1234 rent הָאָ֖רֶץ H776 so that the earth בְּקוֹלָֽם׃ H6963 with the sound

⁴¹ וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע H8085 that with him heard אֲדֹנִיָּ֗הוּ H138 And Adonijah וְכָל־ H3605 and all הַקְּרֻאִים֙ H7121 and all the guests אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 who אִתּ֔וֹ H854 for וְהֵ֖ם H1992 like כִּלּ֣וּ H3615 as they had made an end לֶאֱכֹ֑ל H398 of eating וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ע H8085 heard יוֹאָב֙ H3097 And when Joab אֶת־ H853 ק֣וֹל H6963 the sound הַשּׁוֹפָ֔ר H7782 of the trumpet וַיֹּ֕אמֶר H559 he said מַדּ֥וּעַ H4069 Why קֽוֹל־ H6963 Wherefore noise הַקִּרְיָ֖ה H7151 of the city הוֹמָֽה׃ H1993 being in an uproar

⁴² עוֹדֶ֣נּוּ H5750 was still מְדַבֵּ֔ר H1696 And while he yet spake וְהִנֵּ֧ה H2009 behold יוֹנָתָ֛ן H3129 behold Jonathan בֶּן־ H1121 the son אֶבְיָתָ֥ר H54 of Abiathar הַכֹּהֵ֖ן H3548 the priest בָּ֑א H935 came וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 said אֲדֹנִיָּ֙הוּ֙ H138 and Adonijah בֹּ֔א H935 unto him Come in כִּ֣י H3588 for אִ֥ישׁ H376 man חַ֛יִל H2428 for thou a valiant אַ֖תָּה H859 you וְט֥וֹב H2896 good תְּבַשֵּֽׂר׃ H1319 tidings

⁴³ וַיַּ֙עַן֙ H6030 answered יוֹנָתָ֔ן H3129 And Jonathan וַיֹּ֖אמֶר H559 and said לַאֲדֹנִיָּ֑הוּ H138 to Adonijah אֲבָ֕ל H61 Verily אֲדֹנֵ֥ינוּ H113 our lord הַמֶּֽלֶךְ־ H4428 king דָּוִ֖ד H1732 David הִמְלִ֥יךְ H4427 king אֶת־ H853 שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃ H8010 hath made Solomon

⁴⁴ וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח H7971 hath sent אִתּֽוֹ־ H854 for הַ֠מֶּלֶךְ H4428 And the king אֶת־ H853 צָד֨וֹק H6659 with him Zadok הַכֹּהֵ֜ן H3548 the priest וְאֶת־ H853 נָתָ֣ן H5416 and Nathan הַנָּבִ֗יא H5030 the prophet וּבְנָיָ֙הוּ֙ H1141 and Benaiah בֶּן־ H1121 the son יְה֣וֹיָדָ֔ע H3077 of Jehoiada וְהַכְּרֵתִ֖י H3774 and the Cherethites וְהַפְּלֵתִ֑י H6432 and the Pelethites וַיַּרְכִּ֣בוּ H7392 and they have caused him to ride אֹת֔וֹ H853 עַ֖ל H5921 and פִּרְדַּ֥ת H6506 mule הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 upon the king's

⁴⁵ וַיִּמְשְׁח֣וּ H4886 have anointed אֹת֡וֹ H853 צָד֣וֹק H6659 And Zadok הַכֹּהֵ֣ן H3548 the priest וְנָתָן֩ H5416 and Nathan הַנָּבִ֨יא H5030 the prophet לְמֶ֜לֶךְ H4428 him king בְּגִח֗וֹן H1521 in Gihon וַיַּעֲל֤וּ H5927 and they are come up מִשָּׁם֙ H8033 there שְׂמֵחִ֔ים H8056 from thence rejoicing וַתֵּהֹ֖ם H1949 rang again הַקִּרְיָ֑ה H7151 so that the city ה֥וּא H1931 This הַקּ֖וֹל H6963 This the noise אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which שְׁמַעְתֶּֽם׃ H8085 that ye have heard

⁴⁶ וְגַם֙ H1571 Besides יָשַׁ֣ב H3427 sitteth שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 And also Solomon עַ֖ל H5921 on כִּסֵּ֥א H3678 on the throne הַמְּלוּכָֽה׃ H4410 of the kingdom

⁴⁷ וְגַם־ H1571 Moreover בָּ֜אוּ H935 came עַבְדֵ֣י H5650 servants הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ H4428 And moreover the king's לְ֠בָרֵךְ H1288 to bless אֶת־ H853 אֲדֹנֵ֜ינוּ H113 our lord הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 king דָּוִד֮ H1732 David לֵאמֹר֒ H559 saying יֵיטֵ֨ב H3190 better <אֱלֹהֶיךָ כ> (אֱלֹהִ֜ים H430 angels ק) אֶת־ H853 שֵׁ֤ם H8034 make the name שְׁלֹמֹה֙ H8010 of Solomon מִשְּׁמֶ֔ךָ H8034 than thy name וִֽיגַדֵּ֥ל H1431 greater אֶת־ H853 כִּסְא֖וֹ H3678 his throne מִכִּסְאֶ֑ךָ H3678 than thy throne וַיִּשְׁתַּ֥חוּ H7812 bowed הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 And the king עַל־ H5921 on הַמִּשְׁכָּֽב׃ H4904 himself upon the bed

⁴⁸ וְגַם־ H1571 has also כָּ֖כָה H3602 thus אָמַ֣ר H559 And also thus said הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 the king בָּר֨וּךְ H1288 Blessed יְהוָ֜ה H3068 the LORD אֱלֹהֵ֣י H430 God יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל H3478 of Israel אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 who נָתַ֥ן H5414 which hath given הַיּ֛וֹם H3117 this day יֹשֵׁ֥ב H3427 to sit עַל־ H5921 on כִּסְאִ֖י H3678 on my throne וְעֵינַ֥י H5869 mine eyes רֹאֽוֹת׃ H7200 even seeing

⁴⁹ וַיֶּֽחֶרְדוּ֙ H2729 were afraid וַיָּקֻ֔מוּ H6965 and rose up כָּל־ H3605 all הַ֨קְּרֻאִ֔ים H7121 And all the guests אֲשֶׁ֖ר H834 him לַאֲדֹנִיָּ֑הוּ H138 that with Adonijah וַיֵּלְכ֖וּ H1980 went אִ֥ישׁ H376 every man לְדַרְכּֽוֹ׃ H1870 his way

⁵⁰ וַאֲדֹ֣נִיָּ֔הוּ H138 And Adonijah יָרֵ֖א H3372 feared מִפְּנֵ֣י H6440 because שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה H8010 of Solomon וַיָּ֣קָם H6965 and arose וַיֵּ֔לֶךְ H1980 went וַֽיַּחֲזֵ֖ק H2388 and caught hold בְּקַרְנ֥וֹת H7161 on the horns הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ H4196 of the altar

⁵¹ וַיֻּגַּ֤ד H5046 And it was told לִשְׁלֹמֹה֙ H8010 Solomon לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 saying הִנֵּה֙ H2009 Behold אֲדֹ֣נִיָּ֔הוּ H138 Behold Adonijah יָרֵ֖א H3372 feareth אֶת־ H853 הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 king שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה H8010 Solomon וְ֠הִנֵּה H2009 behold אָחַ֞ז H270 for lo he hath caught hold בְּקַרְנ֤וֹת H7161 on the horns הַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ H4196 of the altar לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 saying יִשָּֽׁבַֽע־ H7650 swear לִ֤י H0 כַיּוֹם֙ H3117 unto me to day הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 Let king שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 Solomon אִם־ H518 he will not יָמִ֥ית H4191 that he will not slay אֶת־ H853 עַבְדּ֖וֹ H5650 his servant בֶּחָֽרֶב׃ H2719 with the sword

⁵² וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 said שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 And Solomon אִ֚ם H518 If יִהְיֶ֣ה H1961 become לְבֶן־ H1121 man חַ֔יִל H2428 If he will shew himself a worthy לֹֽא־ H3808 not יִפֹּ֥ל H5307 of him fall מִשַּׂעֲרָת֖וֹ H8185 there shall not an hair אָ֑רְצָה H776 to the earth וְאִם־ H518 if רָעָ֥ה H7451 but if wickedness תִמָּצֵא־ H4672 shall be found ב֖וֹ H0 וָמֵֽת׃ H4191 in him he shall die

⁵³ וַיִּשְׁלַ֞ח H7971 sent הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 So king שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה H8010 Solomon וַיֹּרִדֻ֙הוּ֙ H3381 and they brought him down מֵעַ֣ל H5921 from הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ H4196 from the altar וַיָּבֹ֕א H935 And he came וַיִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ H7812 and bowed לַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 himself to king שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה H8010 Solomon וַיֹּֽאמֶר־ H559 said ל֥וֹ H0 שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה H8010 and Solomon לֵ֥ךְ H1980 Go לְבֵיתֶֽךָ׃ H1004 to thine house פ

¹ וַיִּקְרְב֥וּ H7126 drew nigh יְמֵֽי־ H3117 Now the days דָוִ֖ד H1732 of David לָמ֑וּת H4191 that he should die וַיְצַ֛ו H6680 and he charged אֶת־ H853 שְׁלֹמֹ֥ה H8010 Solomon בְנ֖וֹ H1121 his son לֵאמֹֽר׃ H559 saying

² אָנֹכִ֣י H595 I הֹלֵ֔ךְ H1980 I go בְּדֶ֖רֶךְ H1870 the way כָּל־ H3605 of all הָאָ֑רֶץ H776 of all the earth וְחָזַקְתָּ֖ H2388 be thou strong וְהָיִ֥יתָֽ H1961 and show לְאִֽישׁ׃ H376 therefore and shew thyself a man

³ וְשָׁמַרְתָּ֞ H8104 And keep אֶת־ H853 מִשְׁמֶ֣רֶת ׀ H4931 the charge יְהוָ֣ה H3068 of the LORD אֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ H430 thy God לָלֶ֤כֶת H1980 to walk בִּדְרָכָיו֙ H1870 in his ways לִשְׁמֹ֨ר H8104 to keep חֻקֹּתָ֤יו H2708 his statutes מִצְוֹתָיו֙ H4687 and his commandments וּמִשְׁפָּטָ֣יו H4941 and his judgments וְעֵדְוֹתָ֔יו H5715 and his testimonies כַּכָּת֖וּב H3789 as it is written בְּתוֹרַ֣ת H8451 in the law מֹשֶׁ֑ה H4872 of Moses לְמַ֣עַן H4616 that תַּשְׂכִּ֗יל H7919 that thou mayest prosper אֵ֚ת H853 כָּל־ H3605 all אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 you תַּֽעֲשֶׂ֔ה H6213 in all that thou doest וְאֵ֛ת H853 כָּל־ H3605 all אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 you תִּפְנֶ֖ה H6437 and whithersoever thou turnest שָֽׁם׃ H8033 in it

⁴ לְמַעַן֩ H4616 so יָקִ֨ים H6965 may continue יְהוָ֜ה H3068 That the LORD אֶת־ H853 דְּבָר֗וֹ H1697 his word אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 which דִּבֶּ֣ר H1696 which he spake עָלַי֮ H5921 concerning לֵאמֹר֒ H559 concerning me saying אִם־ H518 If יִשְׁמְר֨וּ H8104 take heed בָנֶ֜יךָ H1121 If thy children אֶת־ H853 דַּרְכָּ֗ם H1870 to their way לָלֶ֤כֶת H1980 to walk לְפָנַי֙ H6440 before בֶּאֱמֶ֔ת H571 me in truth בְּכָל־ H3605 all לְבָבָ֖ם H3824 with all their heart וּבְכָל־ H3605 all נַפְשָׁ֑ם H5315 and with all their soul לֵאמֹ֕ר H559 thee (said לֹֽא־ H3808 shall not יִכָּרֵ֤ת H3772 there shall not fail לְךָ֙ H0 אִ֔ישׁ H376 he) a man מֵעַ֖ל H5921 concerning כִּסֵּ֥א H3678 on the throne יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 of Israel

⁵ וְגַ֣ם H1571 also אַתָּ֣ה H859 you יָדַ֡עְתָּ H3045 Moreover thou knowest אֵת֩ H853 אֲשֶׁר־ H834 what עָ֨שָׂה H6213 did לִ֜י H0 יוֹאָ֣ב H3097 also what Joab בֶּן־ H1121 the son צְרוּיָ֗ה H6870 of Zeruiah אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 what עָשָׂ֣ה H6213 to me what he did לִשְׁנֵֽי־ H8147 to the two שָׂרֵ֣י H8269 captains צִבְא֣וֹת H6635 of the hosts יִ֠שְׂרָאֵל H3478 of Israel לְאַבְנֵ֨ר H74 unto Abner בֶּן־ H1121 the son נֵ֜ר H5369 of Ner וְלַעֲמָשָׂ֤א H6021 and unto Amasa בֶן־ H1121 the son יֶ֙תֶר֙ H3500 of Jether וַיַּ֣הַרְגֵ֔ם H2026 whom he slew וַיָּ֥שֶׂם H7760 and shed דְּמֵֽי־ H1818 the blood מִלְחָמָ֖ה H4421 of war בְּשָׁלֹ֑ם H7965 in peace וַיִּתֵּ֞ן H5414 and put דְּמֵ֣י H1818 the blood מִלְחָמָ֗ה H4421 of war בַּחֲגֹֽרָתוֹ֙ H2290 upon his girdle אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 what בְּמָתְנָ֔יו H4975 that about his loins וּֽבְנַעֲל֖וֹ H5275 and in his shoes אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 what בְּרַגְלָֽיו׃ H7272 that on his feet

⁶ וְעָשִׂ֖יתָ H6213 Do כְּחָכְמָתֶ֑ךָ H2451 therefore according to thy wisdom וְלֹֽא־ H3808 not תוֹרֵ֧ד H3381 go down שֵׂיבָת֛וֹ H7872 and let not his hoar head בְּשָׁלֹ֖ם H7965 in peace שְׁאֹֽל׃ H7585 to the grave ס

⁷ וְלִבְנֵ֨י H1121 unto the sons בַרְזִלַּ֤י H1271 of Barzillai הַגִּלְעָדִי֙ H1569 the Gileadite תַּֽעֲשֶׂה־ H6213 But shew חֶ֔סֶד H2617 kindness וְהָי֖וּ H1961 become בְּאֹכְלֵ֣י H398 and let them be of those that eat שֻׁלְחָנֶ֑ךָ H7979 at thy table כִּי־ H3588 for כֵן֙ H3651 after that קָרְב֣וּ H7126 for so they came אֵלַ֔י H413 about בְּבָרְחִ֕י H1272 to me when I fled מִפְּנֵ֖י H6440 because אַבְשָׁל֥וֹם H53 of Absalom אָחִֽיךָ׃ H251 thy brother

⁸ וְהִנֵּ֣ה H2009 Behold עִ֠מְּךָ H5973 you שִֽׁמְעִ֨י H8096 And behold with thee Shimei בֶן־ H1121 the son גֵּרָ֥א H1617 of Gera בֶן־ H0 הַיְמִינִי֮ H1145 a Benjamite מִבַּחֻרִים֒ H980 of Bahurim וְה֤וּא H1931 who קִֽלְלַ֙נִי֙ H7043 which cursed קְלָלָ֣ה H7045 curse נִמְרֶ֔צֶת H4834 me with a grievous בְּי֖וֹם H3117 in the day לֶכְתִּ֣י H1980 went מַחֲנָ֑יִם H4266 to Mahanaim וְהֽוּא־ H1931 he יָרַ֤ד H3381 but he came down לִקְרָאתִי֙ H7125 to meet הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן H3383 me at Jordan וָאֶשָּׁ֨בַֽע H7650 and I sware ל֤וֹ H0 בַֽיהוָה֙ H3068 to him by the LORD לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 saying אִם־ H518 I will not אֲמִֽיתְךָ֖ H4191 I will not put thee to death בֶּחָֽרֶב׃ H2719 with the sword

⁹ וְעַתָּה֙ H6258 Now אַל־ H408 nay תְּנַקֵּ֔הוּ H5352 Now therefore hold him not guiltless כִּ֛י H3588 for אִ֥ישׁ H376 man חָכָ֖ם H2450 for thou a wise אָ֑תָּה H859 and you וְיָֽדַעְתָּ֙ H3045 and knowest אֵ֣ת H853 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 what תַּֽעֲשֶׂה־ H6213 what thou oughtest to do לּ֔וֹ H0 וְהוֹרַדְתָּ֧ H3381 bring thou down אֶת־ H853 שֵׂיבָת֛וֹ H7872 unto him but his hoar head בְּדָ֖ם H1818 with blood שְׁאֽוֹל׃ H7585 to the grave

¹⁰ וַיִּשְׁכַּ֥ב H7901 slept דָּוִ֖ד H1732 So David עִם־ H5973 with אֲבֹתָ֑יו H1 with his fathers וַיִּקָּבֵ֖ר H6912 and was buried בְּעִ֥יר H5892 in the city דָּוִֽד׃ H1732 of David פ

¹¹ וְהַיָּמִ֗ים H3117 And the days אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 after מָלַ֤ךְ H4427 reigned דָּוִד֙ H1732 that David עַל־ H5921 over יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 over Israel אַרְבָּעִ֖ים H705 forty שָׁנָ֑ה H8141 years בְּחֶבְר֤וֹן H2275 he in Hebron מָלַךְ֙ H4427 reigned שֶׁ֣בַע H7651 seven שָׁנִ֔ים H8141 years וּבִירוּשָׁלִַ֣ם H3389 he in Jerusalem מָלַ֔ךְ H4427 reigned שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים H7970 and thirty וְשָׁלֹ֖שׁ H7969 and three שָׁנִֽים׃ H8141 years

¹² וּשְׁלֹמֹ֕ה H8010 Solomon יָשַׁ֕ב H3427 Then sat עַל־ H5921 on כִּסֵּ֖א H3678 upon the throne דָּוִ֣ד H1732 of David אָבִ֑יו H1 his father וַתִּכֹּ֥ן H3559 was established מַלְכֻת֖וֹ H4428 king מְאֹֽד׃ H3966 greatly

¹³ וַיָּבֹ֞א H935 came אֲדֹנִיָּ֣הוּ H138 And Adonijah בֶן־ H1121 the son חַגֵּ֗ית H2294 of Haggith אֶל־ H413 about בַּת־ H0 שֶׁ֙בַע֙ H1339 to Bathsheba אֵם־ H517 the mother שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 of Solomon וַתֹּ֖אמֶר H559 And she said הֲשָׁל֣וֹם H7965 Peaceably בֹּאֶ֑ךָ H935 Comest וַיֹּ֖אמֶר H559 said שָׁלֽוֹם׃ H7965 Peacefully

¹⁴ וַיֹּ֕אמֶר H559 He said דָּבָ֥ר H1697 moreover I have somewhat to say לִ֖י H0 אֵלָ֑יִךְ H413 about וַתֹּ֖אמֶר H559 unto thee And she said דַּבֵּֽר׃ H1696 Say on

¹⁵ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר H559 And he said אַ֤תְּ H859 You יָדַ֙עַתְּ֙ H3045 Thou knowest כִּי־ H3588 for לִי֙ H0 הָיְתָ֣ה H1961 and become הַמְּלוּכָ֔ה H4410 that the kingdom וְעָלַ֞י H5921 and שָׂ֧מוּ H7760 set כָֽל־ H3605 all יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל H3478 was mine and all Israel פְּנֵיהֶ֖ם H6440 their faces לִמְלֹ֑ךְ H4427 on me that I should reign וַתִּסֹּ֤ב H5437 is turned about הַמְּלוּכָה֙ H4410 howbeit the kingdom וַתְּהִ֣י H1961 and become לְאָחִ֔י H251 and is become my brother's כִּ֥י H3588 for מֵיְהוָ֖ה H3068 for it was his from the LORD הָ֥יְתָה H1961 and become לּֽוֹ׃ H0

¹⁶ וְעַתָּ֗ה H6258 Now שְׁאֵלָ֤ה H7596 petition אַחַת֙ H259 one אָֽנֹכִי֙ H595 I שֹׁאֵ֣ל H7592 And now I ask מֵֽאִתָּ֔ךְ H853 אַל־ H408 not תָּשִׁ֖בִי H7725 of thee deny אֶת־ H853 פָּנָ֑י H6440 me וַתֹּ֥אמֶר H559 not And she said אֵלָ֖יו H413 to him דַּבֵּֽר׃ H1696 unto him Say on

¹⁷ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר H559 And he said אִמְרִי־ H559 Speak נָא֙ H4994 Please לִשְׁלֹמֹ֣ה H8010 I pray thee unto Solomon הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 the king כִּ֥י H3588 for לֹֽא־ H3808 he will not יָשִׁ֖יב H7725 nay אֶת־ H853 פָּנָ֑יִךְ H6440 thee וְיִתֶּן־ H5414 ) that he give לִ֛י H0 אֶת־ H853 אֲבִישַׁ֥ג H49 me Abishag הַשּׁוּנַמִּ֖ית H7767 the Shunammite לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ H802 to wife

¹⁸ וַתֹּ֥אמֶר H559 said בַּת־ H0 שֶׁ֖בַע H1339 And Bathsheba ט֑וֹב H2896 Well אָנֹכִ֕י H595 I אֲדַבֵּ֥ר H1696 I will speak עָלֶ֖יךָ H5921 and אֶל־ H413 to הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 for thee unto the king

¹⁹ וַתָּבֹ֤א H935 therefore went בַת־ H0 שֶׁ֙בַע֙ H1339 Bathsheba אֶל־ H413 to הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 unto king שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 Solomon לְדַבֶּר־ H1696 to speak ל֖וֹ H0 עַל־ H5921 unto אֲדֹנִיָּ֑הוּ H138 unto him for Adonijah וַיָּקָם֩ H6965 rose up הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ H4428 And the king לִקְרָאתָ֜הּ H7125 to meet וַיִּשְׁתַּ֣חוּ H7812 her and bowed לָ֗הּ H0 וַיֵּ֙שֶׁב֙ H3427 himself unto her and sat down עַל־ H5921 on כִּסְא֔וֹ H3678 on his throne וַיָּ֤שֶׂם H7760 to be set כִּסֵּא֙ H3678 and caused a seat לְאֵ֣ם H517 mother הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 for the king's וַתֵּ֖שֶׁב H3427 and she sat לִֽימִינֽוֹ׃ H3225 on his right hand

²⁰ וַתֹּ֗אמֶר H559 Then she said שְׁאֵלָ֨ה H7596 petition אַחַ֤ת H259 one קְטַנָּה֙ H6996 small אָֽנֹכִי֙ H595 I שֹׁאֶ֣לֶת H7592 I desire מֵֽאִתָּ֔ךְ H853 אַל־ H408 not תָּ֖שֶׁב H7725 not nay אֶת־ H853 פָּנָ֑י H6440 me וַיֹּֽאמֶר־ H559 said לָ֤הּ H0 הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 And the king שַׁאֲלִ֣י H7592 unto her Ask on אִמִּ֔י H517 my mother כִּ֥י H3588 for לֹֽא־ H3808 I will not אָשִׁ֖יב H7725 nay אֶת־ H853 פָּנָֽיִךְ׃ H6440 thee

²¹ וַתֹּ֕אמֶר H559 And she said יֻתַּ֖ן H5414 be given אֶת־ H853 אֲבִישַׁ֣ג H49 Let Abishag הַשֻּׁנַמִּ֑ית H7767 the Shunammite לַאֲדֹנִיָּ֥הוּ H138 to Adonijah אָחִ֖יךָ H251 thy brother לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ H802 to wife

²² וַיַּעַן֩ H6030 answered הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ H4428 And king שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה H8010 Solomon וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 and said לְאִמּ֗וֹ H517 unto his mother וְלָמָה֩ H4100 and why אַ֨תְּ H859 are you שֹׁאֶ֜לֶת H7592 And why dost thou ask אֶת־ H853 אֲבִישַׁ֤ג H49 Abishag הַשֻּׁנַמִּית֙ H7767 the Shunammite לַאֲדֹ֣נִיָּ֔הוּ H138 Adonijah וְשַֽׁאֲלִי־ H7592 asking לוֹ֙ H0 אֶת־ H853 הַמְּלוּכָ֔ה H4410 for him the kingdom כִּ֛י H3588 for ה֥וּא H1931 he אָחִ֖י H251 brother הַגָּד֣וֹל H1419 also for he mine elder מִמֶּ֑נִּי H4480 at וְלוֹ֙ H0 וּלְאֶבְיָתָ֣ר H54 even for him and for Abiathar הַכֹּהֵ֔ן H3548 the priest וּלְיוֹאָ֖ב H3097 and for Joab בֶּן־ H1121 the son צְרוּיָֽה׃ H6870 of Zeruiah פ

²³ וַיִּשָּׁבַע֙ H7650 sware הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 Then king שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 Solomon בַּֽיהוָ֖ה H3068 by the LORD לֵאמֹ֑ר H559 saying כֹּ֣ה H3541 so יַֽעֲשֶׂה־ H6213 do לִּ֤י H0 אֱלֹהִים֙ H430 God וְכֹ֣ה H3541 also יוֹסִ֔יף H3254 so to me and more also כִּ֣י H3588 if בְנַפְשׁ֔וֹ H5315 against his own life דִּבֶּר֙ H1696 have not spoken אֲדֹ֣נִיָּ֔הוּ H138 if Adonijah אֶת־ H853 הַדָּבָ֖ר H1697 this word הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 this

²⁴ וְעַתָּ֗ה H6258 Now חַי־ H2416 liveth יְהוָה֙ H3068 Now therefore the LORD אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 who הֱכִינַ֗נִי H3559 which hath established <וַיֹּושִׁיבִינִי כ> (וַיֹּֽושִׁיבַ֙נִי֙ H3427 abide ק) עַל־ H5921 on כִּסֵּא֙ H3678 me on the throne דָּוִ֣ד H1732 of David אָבִ֔י H1 my father וַאֲשֶׁ֧ר H834 and who עָֽשָׂה־ H6213 and who hath made לִ֛י H0 בַּ֖יִת H1004 me an house כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 who דִּבֵּ֑ר H1696 as he promised כִּ֣י H3588 surely הַיּ֔וֹם H3117 this day יוּמַ֖ת H4191 shall be put to death אֲדֹנִיָּֽהוּ׃ H138 Adonijah

²⁵ וַיִּשְׁלַח֙ H7971 sent הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 And king שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 Solomon בְּיַ֖ד H3027 by the hand בְּנָיָ֣הוּ H1141 of Benaiah בֶן־ H1121 the son יְהוֹיָדָ֑ע H3077 of Jehoiada וַיִּפְגַּע־ H6293 and he fell בּ֖וֹ H0 וַיָּמֹֽת׃ H4191 upon him that he died ס

²⁶ וּלְאֶבְיָתָ֨ר H54 And unto Abiathar הַכֹּהֵ֜ן H3548 the priest אָמַ֣ר H559 said הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ H4428 the king עֲנָתֹת֙ H6068 thee to Anathoth לֵ֣ךְ H1980 Go עַל־ H5921 unto שָׂדֶ֔יךָ H7704 unto thine own fields כִּ֛י H3588 because אִ֥ישׁ H376 for thou worthy מָ֖וֶת H4194 of death אָ֑תָּה H859 you וּבַיּ֨וֹם H3117 but I will not at this time הַזֶּ֜ה H2088 this לֹ֣א H3808 I will not אֲמִיתֶ֗ךָ H4191 put thee to death כִּֽי־ H3588 and because נָשָׂ֜אתָ H5375 because thou barest אֶת־ H853 אֲר֨וֹן H727 the ark אֲדֹנָ֤י H136 of the Lord יְהֹוִה֙ H3069 GOD לִפְנֵי֙ H6440 before דָּוִ֣ד H1732 David אָבִ֔י H1 my father וְכִ֣י H3588 because הִתְעַנִּ֔יתָ H6031 and because thou hast been afflicted בְּכֹ֥ל H3605 everything אֲשֶֽׁר־ H834 which הִתְעַנָּ֖ה H6031 was afflicted אָבִֽי׃ H1 in all wherein my father

²⁷ וַיְגָ֤רֶשׁ H1644 thrust out שְׁלֹמֹה֙ H8010 So Solomon אֶת־ H853 אֶבְיָתָ֔ר H54 Abiathar מִהְי֥וֹת H1961 being כֹּהֵ֖ן H3548 from being priest לַֽיהוָ֑ה H3068 unto the LORD לְמַלֵּא֙ H4390 that he might fulfil אֶת־ H853 דְּבַ֣ר H1697 the word יְהוָ֔ה H3068 of the LORD אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which דִּבֶּ֛ר H1696 which he spake עַל־ H5921 concerning בֵּ֥ית H1004 concerning the house עֵלִ֖י H5941 of Eli בְּשִׁלֹֽה׃ H7887 in Shiloh פ

²⁸ וְהַשְּׁמֻעָה֙ H8052 Then tidings בָּ֣אָה H935 came עַד־ H5704 against יוֹאָ֔ב H3097 to Joab כִּ֣י H3588 for יוֹאָ֗ב H3097 for Joab נָטָה֙ H5186 had turned אַחֲרֵ֣י H310 after אֲדֹנִיָּ֔ה H138 Adonijah וְאַחֲרֵ֥י H310 not after אַבְשָׁל֖וֹם H53 Absalom לֹ֣א H3808 not נָטָ֑ה H5186 though he turned וַיָּ֤נָס H5127 fled יוֹאָב֙ H3097 And Joab אֶל־ H413 to אֹ֣הֶל H168 unto the tabernacle יְהוָ֔ה H3068 of the LORD וַֽיַּחֲזֵ֖ק H2388 and caught hold בְּקַרְנ֥וֹת H7161 on the horns הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ H4196 of the altar

²⁹ וַיֻּגַּ֞ד H5046 And it was told לַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 king שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה H8010 Solomon כִּ֣י H3588 for נָ֤ס H5127 was fled יוֹאָב֙ H3097 that Joab אֶל־ H413 to אֹ֣הֶל H168 unto the tabernacle יְהוָ֔ה H3068 of the LORD וְהִנֵּ֖ה H2009 and behold אֵ֣צֶל H681 and behold by הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ H4196 the altar וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח H7971 sent שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה H8010 Then Solomon אֶת־ H853 בְּנָיָ֧הוּ H1141 Benaiah בֶן־ H1121 the son יְהוֹיָדָ֛ע H3077 of Jehoiada לֵאמֹ֖ר H559 saying לֵ֥ךְ H1980 Go פְּגַע־ H6293 fall בּֽוֹ׃ H0

³⁰ וַיָּבֹ֨א H935 came בְנָיָ֜הוּ H1141 And Benaiah אֶל־ H413 to אֹ֣הֶל H168 to the tabernacle יְהוָ֗ה H3068 of the LORD וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 and said אֵלָ֜יו H413 to him כֹּֽה־ H3541 Thus אָמַ֤ר H559 unto him Thus saith הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 the king צֵ֔א H3318 Come forth וַיֹּ֥אמֶר ׀ H559 And he said לֹ֖א H3808 No כִּ֣י H3588 for פֹ֣ה H6311 here אָמ֑וּת H4191 Nay but I will die וַיָּ֨שֶׁב H7725 again בְּנָיָ֤הוּ H1141 here And Benaiah אֶת־ H853 הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 the king דָּבָ֣ר H1697 word לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 saying כֹּֽה־ H3541 Thus דִבֶּ֥ר H1696 Thus said יוֹאָ֖ב H3097 Joab וְכֹ֥ה H3541 and thus עָנָֽנִי׃ H6030 and thus he answered

³¹ וַיֹּ֧אמֶר H559 said ל֣וֹ H0 הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ H4428 And the king עֲשֵׂה֙ H6213 unto him Do כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which דִּבֶּ֔ר H1696 as he hath said וּפְגַע־ H6293 and fall בּ֖וֹ H0 וּקְבַרְתּ֑וֹ H6912 upon him and bury וַהֲסִירֹ֣תָ ׀ H5493 him that thou mayest take away דְּמֵ֣י H1818 blood חִנָּ֗ם H2600 the innocent אֲשֶׁר֙ H834 which שָׁפַ֣ךְ H8210 shed יוֹאָ֔ב H3097 which Joab מֵעָלַ֕י H5921 and וּמֵעַ֖ל H5921 and בֵּ֥ית H1004 from me and from the house אָבִֽי׃ H1 of my father

³² וְהֵשִׁיב֩ H7725 shall return יְהוָ֨ה H3068 And the LORD אֶת־ H853 דָּמ֜וֹ H1818 his blood עַל־ H5921 on רֹאשׁ֗וֹ H7218 upon his own head אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 because פָּגַ֣ע H6293 who fell בִּשְׁנֵֽי־ H8147 upon two אֲ֠נָשִׁים H376 men צַדִּקִ֨ים H6662 more righteous וְטֹבִ֤ים H2896 and better מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ H4480 more וַיַּהַרְגֵ֣ם H2026 than he and slew בַּחֶ֔רֶב H2719 them with the sword וְאָבִ֥י H1 my father דָוִ֖ד H1732 David לֹ֣א H3808 did not יָדָ֑ע H3045 not knowing אֶת־ H853 אַבְנֵ֤ר H74 Abner בֶּן־ H1121 the son נֵר֙ H5369 of Ner שַׂר־ H8269 captain צְבָ֣א H6635 of the host יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 of Israel וְאֶת־ H853 עֲמָשָׂ֥א H6021 and Amasa בֶן־ H1121 the son יֶ֖תֶר H3500 of Jether שַׂר־ H8269 captain צְבָ֥א H6635 of the host יְהוּדָֽה׃ H3063 of Judah

³³ וְשָׁ֤בוּ H7725 shall therefore return דְמֵיהֶם֙ H1818 Their blood בְּרֹ֣אשׁ H7218 upon the head יוֹאָ֔ב H3097 of Joab וּבְרֹ֥אשׁ H7218 and upon the head זַרְע֖וֹ H2233 of his seed לְעֹלָ֑ם H5769 for ever וּלְדָוִ֡ד H1732 but upon David וּ֠לְזַרְעוֹ H2233 and upon his seed וּלְבֵית֨וֹ H1004 and upon his house וּלְכִסְא֜וֹ H3678 and upon his throne יִהְיֶ֥ה H1961 become שָׁל֛וֹם H7965 shall there be peace עַד־ H5704 for עוֹלָ֖ם H5769 ever מֵעִ֥ם H5973 from יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 from the LORD

³⁴ וַיַּ֗עַל H5927 went up בְּנָיָ֙הוּ֙ H1141 So Benaiah בֶּן־ H1121 the son יְה֣וֹיָדָ֔ע H3077 of Jehoiada וַיִּפְגַּע־ H6293 and fell בּ֖וֹ H0 וַיְמִתֵ֑הוּ H4191 upon him and slew וַיִּקָּבֵ֥ר H6912 him and he was buried בְּבֵית֖וֹ H1004 in his own house בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ H4057 in the wilderness

³⁵ וַיִּתֵּ֨ן H5414 put הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ H4428 And the king אֶת־ H853 בְּנָיָ֧הוּ H1141 Benaiah בֶן־ H1121 the son יְהוֹיָדָ֛ע H3077 of Jehoiada תַּחְתָּ֖יו H8478 his place עַל־ H5921 over הַצָּבָ֑א H6635 in his room over the host וְאֶת־ H853 צָד֤וֹק H6659 and Zadok הַכֹּהֵן֙ H3548 the priest נָתַ֣ן H5414 put הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 did the king תַּ֖חַת H8478 the place אֶבְיָתָֽר׃ H54 in the room of Abiathar

³⁶ וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח H7971 sent הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 And the king וַיִּקְרָ֣א H7121 and called לְשִׁמְעִ֔י H8096 for Shimei וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 and said ל֗וֹ H0 בְּֽנֵה־ H1129 unto him Build לְךָ֥ H0 בַ֙יִת֙ H1004 thee an house בִּיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם H3389 in Jerusalem וְיָשַׁבְתָּ֖ H3427 and dwell שָׁ֑ם H8033 there וְלֹֽא־ H3808 not תֵצֵ֥א H3318 there and go not forth מִשָּׁ֖ם H8033 there אָ֥נֶה H575 thence any whither וָאָֽנָה׃ H575 place

³⁷ וְהָיָ֣ה ׀ H1961 become בְּי֣וֹם H3117 For it shall be on the day צֵאתְךָ֗ H3318 thou goest out וְעָֽבַרְתָּ֙ H5674 and passest over אֶת־ H853 נַ֣חַל H5158 the brook קִדְר֔וֹן H6939 Kidron יָדֹ֥עַ H3045 thou shalt know תֵּדַ֖ע H3045 for certain כִּ֣י H3588 that מ֣וֹת H4191 that thou shalt surely תָּמ֑וּת H4191 die דָּמְךָ֖ H1818 thy blood יִהְיֶ֥ה H1961 your own בְרֹאשֶֽׁךָ׃ H7218 shall be upon thine own head

³⁸ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 said שִׁמְעִ֤י H8096 And Shimei לַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 unto the king ט֣וֹב H2896 good הַדָּבָ֔ר H1697 The saying כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 after דִּבֶּר֙ H1696 hath said אֲדֹנִ֣י H113 as my lord הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 the king כֵּ֖ן H3651 so יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה H6213 do עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ H5650 so will thy servant וַיֵּ֧שֶׁב H3427 dwelt שִׁמְעִ֛י H8096 And Shimei בִּירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם H3389 in Jerusalem יָמִ֥ים H3117 days רַבִּֽים׃ H7227 many ס

³⁹ וַיְהִ֗י H1961 came מִקֵּץ֙ H7093 And it came to pass at the end שָׁלֹ֣שׁ H7969 of three שָׁנִ֔ים H8141 years וַיִּבְרְח֤וּ H1272 ran away שְׁנֵֽי־ H8147 that two עֲבָדִים֙ H5650 of the servants לְשִׁמְעִ֔י H8096 of Shimei אֶל־ H413 to אָכִ֥ישׁ H397 unto Achish בֶּֽן־ H1121 son מַעֲכָ֖ה H4601 of Maachah מֶ֣לֶךְ H4428 king גַּ֑ת H1661 of Gath וַיַּגִּ֤ידוּ H5046 And they told לְשִׁמְעִי֙ H8096 Shimei לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 saying הִנֵּ֥ה H2009 Behold עֲבָדֶ֖יךָ H5650 Behold thy servants בְּגַֽת׃ H1661 in Gath

⁴⁰ וַיָּ֣קָם H6965 arose שִׁמְעִ֗י H8096 And Shimei וַֽיַּחֲבֹשׁ֙ H2280 and saddled אֶת־ H853 חֲמֹר֔וֹ H2543 his ass וַיֵּ֤לֶךְ H1980 and went גַּ֙תָה֙ H1661 to Gath אֶל־ H413 to אָכִ֔ישׁ H397 to Achish לְבַקֵּ֖שׁ H1245 to seek אֶת־ H853 עֲבָדָ֑יו H5650 his servants וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ H1980 went שִׁמְעִ֔י H8096 and Shimei וַיָּבֵ֥א H935 and brought אֶת־ H853 עֲבָדָ֖יו H5650 his servants מִגַּֽת׃ H1661 from Gath

⁴¹ וַיֻּגַּ֖ד H5046 And it was told לִשְׁלֹמֹ֑ה H8010 Solomon כִּי־ H3588 for הָלַ֨ךְ H1980 had gone שִׁמְעִ֧י H8096 that Shimei מִירוּשָׁלִַ֛ם H3389 from Jerusalem גַּ֖ת H1661 to Gath וַיָּשֹֽׁב׃ H7725 and was come again

⁴² וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח H7971 sent הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ H4428 And the king וַיִּקְרָ֣א H7121 and called לְשִׁמְעִ֗י H8096 for Shimei וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 and said אֵלָ֜יו H413 about הֲל֧וֹא H3808 not הִשְׁבַּעְתִּ֣יךָ H7650 unto him Did I not make thee to swear בַֽיהוָ֗ה H3068 by the LORD וָאָעִ֤ד H5749 and protested בְּךָ֙ H0 לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 unto thee saying בְּי֣וֹם H3117 on the day צֵאתְךָ֗ H3318 thou goest out וְהָֽלַכְתָּ֙ H1980 and walkest אָ֣נֶה H575 abroad any whither וָאָ֔נָה H575 anywhere יָדֹ֥עַ H3045 Know תֵּדַ֖ע H3045 for a certain כִּ֣י H3588 for מ֣וֹת H4191 that thou shalt surely תָּמ֑וּת H4191 die וַתֹּ֧אמֶר H559 ? and thou saidst אֵלַ֛י H413 to ט֥וֹב H2896 good הַדָּבָ֖ר H1697 unto me The word שָׁמָֽעְתִּי׃ H8085 I have heard

⁴³ וּמַדּ֕וּעַ H4069 Why לֹ֣א H3808 not שָׁמַ֔רְתָּ H8104 Why then hast thou not kept אֵ֖ת H853 שְׁבֻעַ֣ת H7621 the oath יְהוָ֑ה H3068 of the LORD וְאֶת־ H853 הַמִּצְוָ֖ה H4687 and the commandment אֲשֶׁר־ H834 which צִוִּ֥יתִי H6680 that I have charged עָלֶֽיךָ׃ H5921 also

⁴⁴ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 said הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ H4428 The king אֶל־ H413 to שִׁמְעִ֗י H8096 moreover to Shimei אַתָּ֤ה H859 You יָדַ֙עְתָּ֙ H3045 Thou knowest אֵ֣ת H853 כָּל־ H3605 all הָרָעָ֗ה H7451 all the wickedness אֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 which יָדַע֙ H3045 is privy to לְבָ֣בְךָ֔ H3824 which thine heart אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which עָשִׂ֖יתָ H6213 that thou didst לְדָוִ֣ד H1732 to David אָבִ֑י H1 my father וְהֵשִׁ֧יב H7725 shall return יְהוָ֛ה H3068 therefore the LORD אֶת־ H853 רָעָתְךָ֖ H7451 thy wickedness בְּרֹאשֶֽׁךָ׃ H7218 upon thine own head

⁴⁵ וְהַמֶּ֥לֶךְ H4428 And king שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה H8010 Solomon בָּר֑וּךְ H1288 blessed וְכִסֵּ֣א H3678 and the throne דָוִ֗ד H1732 of David יִהְיֶ֥ה H1961 become נָכ֛וֹן H3559 shall be established לִפְנֵ֥י H6440 before יְהוָ֖ה H3068 the LORD עַד־ H5704 for עוֹלָֽם׃ H5769 ever

⁴⁶ וַיְצַ֣ו H6680 commanded הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ H4428 So the king אֶת־ H853 בְּנָיָ֙הוּ֙ H1141 Benaiah בֶּן־ H1121 the son יְה֣וֹיָדָ֔ע H3077 of Jehoiada וַיֵּצֵ֕א H3318 which went out וַיִּפְגַּע־ H6293 and fell בּ֖וֹ H0 וַיָּמֹ֑ת H4191 upon him that he died וְהַמַּמְלָכָ֥ה H4467 And the kingdom נָכ֖וֹנָה H3559 was established בְּיַד־ H3027 in the hand שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃ H8010 of Solomon

¹ וַיִּתְחַתֵּ֣ן H2859 made affinity שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 And Solomon אֶת־ H854 with פַּרְעֹ֖ה H6547 with Pharaoh מֶ֣לֶךְ H4428 king מִצְרָ֑יִם H4714 of Egypt וַיִּקַּ֣ח H3947 and took אֶת־ H853 בַּת־ H1323 daughter פַּרְעֹ֗ה H6547 Pharaoh's וַיְבִיאֶ֙הָ֙ H935 and brought אֶל־ H413 to עִ֣יר H5892 her into the city דָּוִ֔ד H1732 of David עַ֣ד H5704 until כַּלֹּת֗וֹ H3615 until he had made an end לִבְנ֤וֹת H1129 of building אֶת־ H853 בֵּיתוֹ֙ H1004 his own house וְאֶת־ H853 בֵּ֣ית H1004 and the house יְהוָ֔ה H3068 of the LORD וְאֶת־ H853 חוֹמַ֥ת H2346 and the wall יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם H3389 of Jerusalem סָבִֽיב׃ H5439 round about

² רַ֣ק H7535 but הָעָ֔ם H5971 Only the people מְזַבְּחִ֖ים H2076 sacrificed בַּבָּמ֑וֹת H1116 in high places כִּ֠י H3588 because לֹא־ H3808 no נִבְנָ֥ה H1129 built בַ֙יִת֙ H1004 because there was no house לְשֵׁ֣ם H8034 unto the name יְהוָ֔ה H3068 of the LORD עַ֖ד H5704 until הַיָּמִ֥ים H3117 until those days הָהֵֽם׃ H1992 those פ

³ וַיֶּאֱהַ֤ב H157 loved שְׁלֹמֹה֙ H8010 And Solomon אֶת־ H853 יְהוָ֔ה H3068 the LORD לָלֶ֕כֶת H1980 walking בְּחֻקּ֖וֹת H2708 in the statutes דָּוִ֣ד H1732 of David אָבִ֑יו H1 his father רַ֚ק H7535 but בַּבָּמ֔וֹת H1116 in high places ה֥וּא H1931 he מְזַבֵּ֖חַ H2076 only he sacrificed וּמַקְטִֽיר׃ H6999 and burnt incense

⁴ וַיֵּ֨לֶךְ H1980 went הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ H4428 And the king גִּבְעֹ֙נָה֙ H1391 to Gibeon לִזְבֹּ֣חַ H2076 to sacrifice שָׁ֔ם H8033 there כִּ֥י H3588 for הִ֖יא H1931 there for that הַבָּמָ֣ה H1116 high place הַגְּדוֹלָ֑ה H1419 the great אֶ֤לֶף H505 a thousand עֹלוֹת֙ H5930 burnt offerings יַעֲלֶ֣ה H5927 offer שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 did Solomon עַ֖ל H5921 on הַמִּזְבֵּ֥חַ H4196 upon that altar הַהֽוּא׃ H1931 he

⁵ בְּגִבְע֗וֹן H1391 In Gibeon נִרְאָ֧ה H7200 appeared יְהֹוָ֛ה H3068 the LORD אֶל־ H413 to שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה H8010 to Solomon בַּחֲל֣וֹם H2472 in a dream הַלָּ֑יְלָה H3915 by night וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 said אֱלֹהִ֔ים H430 and God שְׁאַ֖ל H7592 Ask מָ֥ה H4100 what אֶתֶּן־ H5414 what I shall give לָֽךְ׃ H0

⁶ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 said שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה H8010 And Solomon אַתָּ֨ה H859 You עָשִׂ֜יתָ H6213 Thou hast shewed עִם־ H5973 toward עַבְדְּךָ֙ H5650 unto thy servant דָוִ֣ד H1732 David אָבִי֮ H1 my father חֶ֣סֶד H2617 mercy גָּדוֹל֒ H1419 great כַּאֲשֶׁר֩ H834 he הָלַ֨ךְ H1980 according as he walked לְפָנֶ֜יךָ H6440 before בֶּאֱמֶ֧ת H571 thee in truth וּבִצְדָקָ֛ה H6666 and in righteousness וּבְיִשְׁרַ֥ת H3483 and in uprightness לֵבָ֖ב H3824 of heart עִמָּ֑ךְ H5973 toward וַתִּשְׁמָר־ H8104 with thee and thou hast kept ל֗וֹ H0 אֶת־ H853 הַחֶ֤סֶד H2617 kindness הַגָּדוֹל֙ H1419 for him this great הַזֶּ֔ה H2088 this וַתִּתֶּן־ H5414 that thou hast given ל֥וֹ H0 בֵ֛ן H1121 him a son יֹשֵׁ֥ב H3427 to sit עַל־ H5921 on כִּסְא֖וֹ H3678 on his throne כַּיּ֥וֹם H3117 as this day הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 this

⁷ וְעַתָּה֙ H6258 Now יְהוָ֣ה H3068 And now O LORD אֱלֹהָ֔י H430 my God אַתָּה֙ H859 You הִמְלַ֣כְתָּ H4427 king אֶֽת־ H853 עַבְדְּךָ֔ H5650 thou hast made thy servant תַּ֖חַת H8478 place דָּוִ֣ד H1732 instead of David אָבִ֑י H1 my father וְאָֽנֹכִי֙ H595 I נַ֣עַר H5288 child קָטֹ֔ן H6996 and I a little לֹ֥א H3808 not אֵדַ֖ע H3045 I know צֵ֥את H3318 not to go out וָבֹֽא׃ H935 or come in

⁸ וְעַ֨בְדְּךָ֔ H5650 And thy servant בְּת֥וֹךְ H8432 in the midst עַמְּךָ֖ H5971 of thy people אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which בָּחָ֑רְתָּ H977 which thou hast chosen עַם־ H5971 people רָ֕ב H7227 a great אֲשֶׁ֧ר H834 who לֹֽא־ H3808 not יִמָּנֶ֛ה H4487 that cannot be numbered וְלֹ֥א H3808 or יִסָּפֵ֖ר H5608 nor counted מֵרֹֽב׃ H7230 for multitude

⁹ וְנָתַתָּ֨ H5414 Give לְעַבְדְּךָ֜ H5650 therefore thy servant לֵ֤ב H3820 heart שֹׁמֵ֙עַ֙ H8085 an understanding לִשְׁפֹּ֣ט H8199 to judge אֶֽת־ H853 עַמְּךָ֔ H5971 thy people לְהָבִ֖ין H995 that I may discern בֵּֽין־ H996 between ט֣וֹב H2896 between good לְרָ֑ע H7451 and bad כִּ֣י H3588 For מִ֤י H4310 who יוּכַל֙ H3201 for who is able לִשְׁפֹּ֔ט H8199 to judge אֶת־ H853 עַמְּךָ֥ H5971 people הַכָּבֵ֖ד H3515 this thy so great הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 this

¹⁰ וַיִּיטַ֥ב H3190 pleasing הַדָּבָ֖ר H1697 And the speech בְּעֵינֵ֣י H5869 the sight אֲדֹנָ֑י H136 the Lord כִּ֚י H3588 for שָׁאַ֣ל H7592 had asked שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 that Solomon אֶת־ H853 הַדָּבָ֖ר H1697 this thing הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 this

¹¹ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 said אֱלֹהִ֜ים H430 And God אֵלָ֗יו H413 about יַעַן֩ H3282 because אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 you שָׁאַ֜לְתָּ H7592 unto him Because thou hast asked אֶת־ H853 הַדָּבָ֣ר H1697 this thing הַזֶּ֗ה H2088 this וְלֹֽא־ H3808 nor שָׁאַ֨לְתָּ H7592 and hast not asked לְּךָ֜ H0 יָמִ֣ים H3117 life רַבִּ֗ים H7227 for thyself long וְלֹֽא־ H3808 nor שָׁאַ֤לְתָּ H7592 neither hast asked לְּךָ֙ H0 עֹ֔שֶׁר H6239 riches וְלֹ֥א H3808 nor שָׁאַ֖לְתָּ H7592 for thyself nor hast asked נֶ֣פֶשׁ H5315 the life אֹיְבֶ֑יךָ H341 of thine enemies וְשָׁאַ֧לְתָּ H7592 but hast asked לְּךָ֛ H0 הָבִ֖ין H995 for thyself understanding לִשְׁמֹ֥עַ H8085 to discern מִשְׁפָּֽט׃ H4941 judgment

¹² הִנֵּ֥ה H2009 behold עָשִׂ֖יתִי H6213 Behold I have done כִּדְבָרֶ֑יךָ H1697 according to thy words הִנֵּ֣ה ׀ H2009 Behold נָתַ֣תִּי H5414 lo I have given לְךָ֗ H0 לֵ֚ב H3820 heart חָכָ֣ם H2450 thee a wise וְנָב֔וֹן H995 and an understanding אֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 so כָּמ֙וֹךָ֙ H3644 like לֹא־ H3808 no הָיָ֣ה H1961 has been לְפָנֶ֔יךָ H6440 so that there was none like thee before וְאַחֲרֶ֖יךָ H310 thee neither after לֹא־ H3808 nor יָק֥וּם H6965 thee shall any arise כָּמֽוֹךָ׃ H3644 like

¹³ וְגַ֨ם H1571 have also אֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 what לֹֽא־ H3808 have not שָׁאַ֙לְתָּ֙ H7592 thee that which thou hast not asked נָתַ֣תִּי H5414 And I have also given לָ֔ךְ H0 גַּם־ H1571 both עֹ֖שֶׁר H6239 both riches גַּם־ H1571 have also כָּב֑וֹד H3519 and honour אֲ֠שֶׁר H834 so לֹא־ H3808 not הָיָ֨ה H1961 become כָמ֥וֹךָ H3644 like אִ֛ישׁ H376 so that there shall not be any בַּמְּלָכִ֖ים H4428 among the kings כָּל־ H3605 all יָמֶֽיךָ׃ H3117 like unto thee all thy days

¹⁴ וְאִ֣ם ׀ H518 If תֵּלֵ֣ךְ H1980 did walk בִּדְרָכַ֗י H1870 in my ways לִשְׁמֹ֤ר H8104 to keep חֻקַּי֙ H2706 my statutes וּמִצְוֹתַ֔י H4687 and my commandments כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 after הָלַ֖ךְ H1980 walked דָּוִ֣יד H1732 David אָבִ֑יךָ H1 as thy father וְהַאַרַכְתִּ֖י H748 then I will lengthen אֶת־ H853 יָמֶֽיךָ׃ H3117 thy days ס

¹⁵ וַיִּקַ֥ץ H3364 awoke שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה H8010 And Solomon וְהִנֵּ֣ה H2009 and behold חֲל֑וֹם H2472 and behold a dream וַיָּב֨וֹא H935 And he came יְרוּשָׁלִַ֜ם H3389 to Jerusalem וַֽיַּעֲמֹ֣ד ׀ H5975 and stood לִפְנֵ֣י ׀ H6440 before אֲר֣וֹן H727 the ark בְּרִית־ H1285 of the covenant אֲדֹנָ֗י H136 of the Lord וַיַּ֤עַל H5927 and offered up עֹלוֹת֙ H5930 burnt offerings וַיַּ֣עַשׂ H6213 and offered שְׁלָמִ֔ים H8002 peace offerings וַיַּ֥עַשׂ H6213 and made מִשְׁתֶּ֖ה H4960 a feast לְכָל־ H3605 for all עֲבָדָֽיו׃ H5650 to all his servants פ

¹⁶ אָ֣ז H227 Then תָּבֹ֗אנָה H935 Then came שְׁתַּ֛יִם H8147 there two נָשִׁ֥ים H802 women זֹנ֖וֹת H2185 armour אֶל־ H413 to הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 unto the king וַֽתַּעֲמֹ֖דְנָה H5975 and stood לְפָנָֽיו׃ H6440 before

¹⁷ וַתֹּ֜אמֶר H559 said הָאִשָּׁ֤ה H802 woman הָֽאַחַת֙ H259 And the one בִּ֣י H994 O אֲדֹנִ֔י H113 my lord אֲנִי֙ H589 I וְהָאִשָּׁ֣ה H802 I and this woman הַזֹּ֔את H2063 and I יֹשְׁבֹ֖ת H3427 dwell בְּבַ֣יִת H1004 house אֶחָ֑ד H259 in one וָאֵלֵ֥ד H3205 and I was delivered of a child עִמָּ֖הּ H5973 while בַּבָּֽיִת׃ H1004 with her in the house

¹⁸ וַיְהִ֞י H1961 happened בַּיּ֤וֹם H3117 day הַשְּׁלִישִׁי֙ H7992 And it came to pass the third לְלִדְתִּ֔י H3205 after that I was delivered וַתֵּ֖לֶד H3205 was delivered גַּם־ H1571 also הָאִשָּׁ֣ה H802 that this woman הַזֹּ֑את H2063 likewise וַאֲנַ֣חְנוּ H587 we יַחְדָּ֗ו H3162 also and we together אֵֽין־ H369 There זָ֤ר H2114 no stranger אִתָּ֙נוּ֙ H854 in בַּבַּ֔יִת H1004 with us in the house זוּלָתִ֥י H2108 save שְׁתַּֽיִם־ H8147 we two אֲנַ֖חְנוּ H587 we בַּבָּֽיִת׃ H1004 in the house

¹⁹ וַיָּ֛מָת H4191 died בֶּן־ H1121 child הָאִשָּׁ֥ה H802 And this woman's הַזֹּ֖את H2063 in לָ֑יְלָה H3915 in the night אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 because שָׁכְבָ֖ה H7901 because she overlaid עָלָֽיו׃ H5921 and

²⁰ וַתָּקָם֩ H6965 And she arose בְּת֨וֹךְ H8432 the middle הַלַּ֜יְלָה H3915 of the night וַתִּקַּ֧ח H3947 and took אֶת־ H853 בְּנִ֣י H1121 my son מֵֽאֶצְלִ֗י H681 from beside וַאֲמָֽתְךָ֙ H519 me while thine handmaid יְשֵׁנָ֔ה H3463 slept וַתַּשְׁכִּיבֵ֖הוּ H7901 and laid בְּחֵיקָ֑הּ H2436 it in her bosom וְאֶת־ H853 בְּנָ֥הּ H1121 child הַמֵּ֖ת H4191 her dead הִשְׁכִּ֥יבָה H7901 and laid בְחֵיקִֽי׃ H2436 in my bosom

²¹ וָאָקֻ֥ם H6965 And when I rose בַּבֹּ֛קֶר H1242 in the morning לְהֵינִ֥יק H3243 suck אֶת־ H853 בְּנִ֖י H1121 to give my child וְהִנֵּה־ H2009 behold מֵ֑ת H4191 behold it was dead וָאֶתְבּוֹנֵ֤ן H995 but when I had considered אֵלָיו֙ H413 in בַּבֹּ֔קֶר H1242 it in the morning וְהִנֵּ֛ה H2009 behold לֹֽא־ H3808 not הָיָ֥ה H1961 was not בְנִ֖י H1121 behold it was not my son אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 whom יָלָֽדְתִּי׃ H3205 which I did bear

²² וַתֹּאמֶר֩ H559 said הָאִשָּׁ֨ה H802 woman הָאַחֶ֜רֶת H312 And the other לֹ֣א H3808 No כִ֗י H3588 for בְּנִ֤י H1121 my son הַחַי֙ H2416 Nay but the living וּבְנֵ֣ךְ H1121 thy son הַמֵּ֔ת H4191 and the dead וְזֹ֤את H2063 likewise אֹמֶ֙רֶת֙ H559 And this said לֹ֣א H3808 No כִ֔י H3588 one בְּנֵ֥ךְ H1121 thy son הַמֵּ֖ת H4191 No but the dead וּבְנִ֣י H1121 my son הֶחָ֑י H2416 and the living וַתְּדַבֵּ֖רְנָה H1696 Thus they spake לִפְנֵ֥י H6440 before הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 the king

²³ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 Then said הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 the king זֹ֣את H2063 The one אֹמֶ֔רֶת H559 saith זֶה־ H2088 the one בְּנִ֥י H1121 This my son הַחַ֖י H2416 that liveth וּבְנֵ֣ךְ H1121 and thy son הַמֵּ֑ת H4191 the dead וְזֹ֤את H2063 and the other אֹמֶ֙רֶת֙ H559 saith לֹ֣א H3808 No כִ֔י H3588 For בְּנֵ֥ךְ H1121 Nay but thy son הַמֵּ֖ת H4191 the dead וּבְנִ֥י H1121 and my son הֶחָֽי׃ H2416 the living פ

²⁴ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר H559 said הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 And the king קְח֣וּ H3947 Bring לִי־ H0 חָ֑רֶב H2719 me a sword וַיָּבִ֥אוּ H935 And they brought הַחֶ֖רֶב H2719 a sword לִפְנֵ֥י H6440 before הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 the king

²⁵ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 said הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 And the king גִּזְר֛וּ H1504 Divide אֶת־ H853 הַיֶּ֥לֶד H3206 child הַחַ֖י H2416 the living לִשְׁנָ֑יִם H8147 in two וּתְנ֤וּ H5414 and give אֶֽת־ H853 הַחֲצִי֙ H2677 half לְאַחַ֔ת H259 to the one וְאֶֽת־ H853 הַחֲצִ֖י H2677 and half לְאֶחָֽת׃ H259 to the other

²⁶ וַתֹּ֣אמֶר H559 Then spake הָאִשָּׁה֩ H802 the woman אֲשֶׁר־ H834 whose בְּנָ֨הּ H1121 child הַחַ֜י H2416 whose the living אֶל־ H413 to הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ H4428 unto the king כִּֽי־ H3588 for נִכְמְר֣וּ H3648 yearned רַחֲמֶיהָ֮ H7356 for her bowels עַל־ H5921 over בְּנָהּ֒ H1121 upon her son וַתֹּ֣אמֶר ׀ H559 and she said בִּ֣י H994 O אֲדֹנִ֗י H113 my lord תְּנוּ־ H5414 give לָהּ֙ H0 אֶת־ H853 הַיָּל֣וּד H3205 child הַחַ֔י H2416 her the living וְהָמֵ֖ת H4191 and in no wise אַל־ H408 no תְּמִיתֻ֑הוּ H4191 slay וְזֹ֣את H2063 likewise אֹמֶ֗רֶת H559 it But the other said גַּם־ H1571 again לִ֥י H0 גַם־ H1571 again לָ֛ךְ H0 לֹ֥א H3808 nor יִהְיֶ֖ה H1961 yours גְּזֹֽרוּ׃ H1504 Let it be neither mine nor thine divide

²⁷ וַיַּ֨עַן H6030 answered הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ H4428 Then the king וַיֹּ֗אמֶר H559 and said תְּנוּ־ H5414 Give לָהּ֙ H0 אֶת־ H853 הַיָּל֣וּד H3205 child הַחַ֔י H2416 her the living וְהָמֵ֖ת H4191 and in no wise לֹ֣א H3808 no תְמִיתֻ֑הוּ H4191 slay הִ֖יא H1931 She אִמּֽוֹ׃ H517 it she the mother

²⁸ וַיִּשְׁמְע֣וּ H8085 heard כָל־ H3605 all יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל H3478 And all Israel אֶת־ H853 הַמִּשְׁפָּט֙ H4941 of the judgment אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which שָׁפַ֣ט H8199 had judged הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 which the king וַיִּֽרְא֖וּ H3372 and they feared מִפְּנֵ֣י H6440 the king הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 the king כִּ֣י H3588 for רָא֔וּ H7200 for they saw כִּֽי־ H3588 that חָכְמַ֧ת H2451 that the wisdom אֱלֹהִ֛ים H430 of God בְּקִרְבּ֖וֹ H7130 in him לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת H6213 to do מִשְׁפָּֽט׃ H4941 judgment ס

¹ וַֽיְהִי֙ H1961 become הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 So king שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 Solomon מֶ֖לֶךְ H4428 was king עַל־ H5921 over כָּל־ H3605 all יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 over all Israel ס

² וְאֵ֥לֶּה H428 These הַשָּׂרִ֖ים H8269 And these the princes אֲשֶׁר־ H834 after ל֑וֹ H0 עֲזַרְיָ֥הוּ H5838 which he had Azariah בֶן־ H1121 the son צָד֖וֹק H6659 of Zadok הַכֹּהֵֽן׃ H3548 the priest ס

³ אֱלִיחֹ֧רֶף H456 Elihoreph וַאֲחִיָּ֛ה H281 and Ahiah בְּנֵ֥י H1121 the sons שִׁישָׁ֖א H7894 of Shisha סֹפְרִ֑ים H5608 scribes יְהוֹשָׁפָ֥ט H3092 Jehoshaphat בֶּן־ H1121 the son אֲחִיל֖וּד H286 of Ahilud הַמַּזְכִּֽיר׃ H2142 the recorder

²⁶ וַיְהִ֣י H1961 become לִשְׁלֹמֹ֗ה H8010 And Solomon אַרְבָּעִ֥ים H705 had forty אֶ֛לֶף H505 thousand אֻרְוֹ֥ת H723 stalls סוּסִ֖ים H5483 of horses לְמֶרְכָּב֑וֹ H4817 for his chariots וּשְׁנֵים־ H8147 both עָשָׂ֥ר H6240 ten אֶ֖לֶף H505 thousand פָּרָשִֽׁים׃ H6571 horsemen

²⁷ וְכִלְכְּלוּ֩ H3557 provided victual הַנִּצָּבִ֨ים H5324 And those officers הָאֵ֜לֶּה H428 Those אֶת־ H853 הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 for king שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה H8010 Solomon וְאֵ֧ת H853 כָּל־ H3605 and all הַקָּרֵ֛ב H7131 and for all that came אֶל־ H413 about שֻׁלְחַ֥ן H7979 table הַמֶּֽלֶךְ־ H4428 unto king שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה H8010 Solomon's אִ֣ישׁ H376 every man חָדְשׁ֑וֹ H2320 in his month לֹ֥א H3808 not יְעַדְּר֖וּ H5737 they lacked דָּבָֽר׃ H1697 nothing

²⁸ וְהַשְּׂעֹרִ֣ים H8184 Barley וְהַתֶּ֔בֶן H8401 also and straw לַסּוּסִ֖ים H5483 for the horses וְלָרָ֑כֶשׁ H7409 and dromedaries יָבִ֗אוּ H935 brought אֶל־ H413 to הַמָּקוֹם֙ H4725 they unto the place אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 after יִֽהְיֶה־ H1961 become שָּׁ֔ם H8033 it אִ֖ישׁ H376 where were every man כְּמִשְׁפָּטֽוֹ׃ H4941 according to his charge ס

²⁹ וַיִּתֵּן֩ H5414 gave אֱלֹהִ֨ים H430 And God חָכְמָ֧ה H2451 wisdom לִשְׁלֹמֹ֛ה H8010 Solomon וּתְבוּנָ֖ה H8394 and understanding הַרְבֵּ֣ה H7235 much מְאֹ֑ד H3966 exceeding וְרֹ֣חַב H7341 and largeness לֵ֔ב H3820 of heart כַּח֕וֹל H2344 even as the sand אֲשֶׁ֖ר H834 after עַל־ H5921 and שְׂפַ֥ת H8193 shore הַיָּֽם׃ H3220 that on the sea

³⁰ וַתֵּ֙רֶב֙ H7235 excelled חָכְמַ֣ת H2451 wisdom שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 And Solomon's מֵֽחָכְמַ֖ת H2451 the wisdom כָּל־ H3605 of all בְּנֵי־ H1121 of all the children קֶ֑דֶם H6924 of the east country וּמִכֹּ֖ל H3605 and all חָכְמַ֥ת H2451 and all the wisdom מִצְרָֽיִם׃ H4714 of Egypt

³¹ וַיֶּחְכַּם֮ H2449 For he was wiser מִכָּל־ H3605 all הָֽאָדָם֒ H120 than all men מֵאֵיתָ֣ן H387 than Ethan הָאֶזְרָחִ֗י H250 the Ezrahite וְהֵימָ֧ן H1968 and Heman וְכַלְכֹּ֛ל H3633 and Chalcol וְדַרְדַּ֖ע H1862 and Darda בְּנֵ֣י H1121 the sons מָח֑וֹל H4235 of Mahol וַיְהִֽי־ H1961 become שְׁמ֥וֹ H8034 and his fame בְכָֽל־ H3605 all הַגּוֹיִ֖ם H1471 was in all nations סָבִֽיב׃ H5439 round about

³ אַתָּ֨ה H859 You יָדַ֜עְתָּ H3045 Thou knowest אֶת־ H853 דָּוִ֣ד H1732 how that David אָבִ֗י H1 my father כִּ֣י H3588 for לֹ֤א H3808 not יָכֹל֙ H3201 could לִבְנ֣וֹת H1129 not build בַּ֗יִת H1004 an house לְשֵׁם֙ H8034 unto the name יְהוָ֣ה H3068 of the LORD אֱלֹהָ֔יו H430 his God מִפְּנֵ֥י H6440 for הַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה H4421 the wars אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which סְבָבֻ֑הוּ H5437 which were about him on every side עַ֤ד H5704 until תֵּת־ H5414 put יְהוָה֙ H3068 until the LORD אֹתָ֔ם H853 תַּ֖חַת H8478 under כַּפּ֥וֹת H3709 them under the soles <רַגְלֹו כ> (רַגְלָֽי׃ H7272 be able to endure ק)

⁴ וְעַתָּ֕ה H6258 now הֵנִ֨יחַ H5117 hath given me rest יְהוָ֧ה H3068 But now the LORD אֱלֹהַ֛י H430 my God לִ֖י H0 מִסָּבִ֑יב H5439 on every side אֵ֣ין H369 there שָׂטָ֔ן H7854 neither adversary וְאֵ֖ין H369 is neither פֶּ֥גַע H6294 occurrent רָֽע׃ H7451 nor evil

⁵ וְהִנְנִ֣י H2005 behold אֹמֵ֔ר H559 And behold I purpose לִבְנ֣וֹת H1129 to build בַּ֔יִת H1004 an house לְשֵׁ֖ם H8034 unto the name יְהוָ֣ה H3068 of the LORD אֱלֹהָ֑י H430 my God כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר ׀ H834 whom דִּבֶּ֣ר H1696 spake יְהוָ֗ה H3068 as the LORD אֶל־ H413 to דָּוִ֤ד H1732 unto David אָבִי֙ H1 my father לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 saying בִּנְךָ֗ H1121 Thy son אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 whom אֶתֵּ֤ן H5414 whom I will set תַּחְתֶּ֙יךָ֙ H8478 your place עַל־ H5921 on כִּסְאֶ֔ךָ H3678 upon thy throne הֽוּא־ H1931 he יִבְנֶ֥ה H1129 in thy room he shall build הַבַּ֖יִת H1004 an house לִשְׁמִֽי׃ H8034 unto my name

⁶ וְעַתָּ֡ה H6258 Now צַוֵּה֩ H6680 Now therefore command וְיִכְרְתוּ־ H3772 thou that they hew לִ֨י H0 אֲרָזִ֜ים H730 me cedar trees מִן־ H4480 from הַלְּבָנ֗וֹן H3844 out of Lebanon וַֽעֲבָדַי֙ H5650 and my servants יִהְי֣וּ H1961 become עִם־ H5973 will be with עֲבָדֶ֔יךָ H5650 shall be with thy servants וּשְׂכַ֤ר H7939 hire עֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙ H5650 for thy servants אֶתֵּ֣ן H5414 and unto thee will I give לְךָ֔ H0 כְּכֹ֖ל H3605 to all אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 you תֹּאמֵ֑ר H559 according to all that thou shalt appoint כִּ֣י ׀ H3588 for אַתָּ֣ה H859 you יָדַ֗עְתָּ H3045 for thou knowest כִּ֣י H3588 that אֵ֥ין H369 there בָּ֛נוּ H0 אִ֛ישׁ H376 that not among us any יֹדֵ֥עַ H3045 that can skill לִכְרָת־ H3772 to hew עֵצִ֖ים H6086 timber כַּצִּדֹנִֽים׃ H6722 like unto the Sidonians

⁷ וַיְהִ֞י H1961 become כִּשְׁמֹ֧עַ H8085 heard חִירָ֛ם H2438 And it came to pass when Hiram אֶת־ H853 דִּבְרֵ֥י H1697 the words שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה H8010 of Solomon וַיִּשְׂמַ֣ח H8055 that he rejoiced מְאֹ֑ד H3966 greatly וַיֹּ֗אמֶר H559 and said בָּר֤וּךְ H1288 Blessed יְהוָה֙ H3068 the LORD הַיּ֔וֹם H3117 this day אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 who נָתַ֤ן H5414 which hath given לְדָוִד֙ H1732 unto David בֵּ֣ן H1121 son חָכָ֔ם H2450 a wise עַל־ H5921 over הָעָ֥ם H5971 people הָרָ֖ב H7227 over this great הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 this

⁹ עֲ֠בָדַי H5650 My servants יֹרִ֨דוּ H3381 shall bring down מִן־ H4480 from הַלְּבָנ֜וֹן H3844 from Lebanon יָ֗מָּה H3220 unto the sea וַ֠אֲנִי H589 and I אֲשִׂימֵ֨ם H7760 and I will convey דֹּבְר֤וֹת H1702 in floats בַּיָּם֙ H3220 them by sea עַֽד־ H5704 against הַמָּק֞וֹם H4725 unto the place אֲשֶׁר־ H834 where תִּשְׁלַ֥ח H7971 that thou shalt appoint אֵלַ֛י H413 about וְנִפַּצְתִּ֥ים H5310 me and will cause them to be discharged שָׁ֖ם H8033 there וְאַתָּ֣ה H859 and you תִשָּׂ֑א H5375 there and thou shalt receive וְאַתָּה֙ H859 you תַּעֲשֶׂ֣ה H6213 and thou shalt accomplish אֶת־ H853 חֶפְצִ֔י H2656 my desire לָתֵ֖ת H5414 in giving לֶ֥חֶם H3899 food בֵּיתִֽי׃ H1004 for my household

¹⁰ וַיְהִ֨י H1961 become חִיר֜וֹם H2438 So Hiram נֹתֵ֣ן H5414 gave לִשְׁלֹמֹ֗ה H8010 Solomon עֲצֵ֧י H6086 trees אֲרָזִ֛ים H730 cedar וַעֲצֵ֥י H6086 trees בְרוֹשִׁ֖ים H1265 and fir כָּל־ H3605 much חֶפְצֽוֹ׃ H2656 all his desire

¹¹ וּשְׁלֹמֹה֩ H8010 And Solomon נָתַ֨ן H5414 gave לְחִירָ֜ם H2438 Hiram עֶשְׂרִים֩ H6242 twenty אֶ֨לֶף H505 thousand כֹּ֤ר H3734 measures חִטִּים֙ H2406 of wheat מַכֹּ֣לֶת H4361 food לְבֵית֔וֹ H1004 to his household וְעֶשְׂרִ֥ים H6242 and twenty כֹּ֖ר H3734 measures שֶׁ֣מֶן H8081 oil כָּתִ֑ית H3795 of pure כֹּֽה־ H3541 thus יִתֵּ֧ן H5414 thus gave שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה H8010 Solomon לְחִירָ֖ם H2438 to Hiram שָׁנָ֥ה H8141 year בְשָׁנָֽה׃ H8141 by year פ

¹² וַיהוָ֗ה H3068 And the LORD נָתַ֤ן H5414 gave חָכְמָה֙ H2451 wisdom לִשְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 Solomon כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר H834 he דִּבֶּר־ H1696 as he promised ל֑וֹ H0 וַיְהִ֣י H1961 and there was שָׁלֹ֗ם H7965 him and there was peace בֵּ֤ין H996 between חִירָם֙ H2438 between Hiram וּבֵ֣ין H996 between שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 and Solomon וַיִּכְרְת֥וּ H3772 made בְרִ֖ית H1285 a league שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃ H8147 together

¹³ וַיַּ֨עַל H5927 raised הַמֶּ֧לֶךְ H4428 And king שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה H8010 Solomon מַ֖ס H4522 a levy מִכָּל־ H3605 of all יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 out of all Israel וַיְהִ֣י H1961 become הַמַּ֔ס H4522 and the levy שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים H7970 was thirty אֶ֖לֶף H505 thousand אִֽישׁ׃ H376 men

¹⁴ וַיִּשְׁלָחֵ֣ם H7971 And he sent לְבָנ֗וֹנָה H3844 them to Lebanon עֲשֶׂ֨רֶת H6235 ten אֲלָפִ֤ים H505 thousand בַּחֹ֙דֶשׁ֙ H2320 a month חֲלִיפ֔וֹת H2487 by courses חֹ֚דֶשׁ H2320 a month יִהְי֣וּ H1961 were in בַלְּבָנ֔וֹן H3844 they were in Lebanon שְׁנַ֥יִם H8147 two חֳדָשִׁ֖ים H2320 months בְּבֵית֑וֹ H1004 at home וַאֲדֹנִירָ֖ם H141 and Adoniram עַל־ H5921 over הַמַּֽס׃ H4522 over the levy ס

¹⁵ וַיְהִ֧י H1961 become לִשְׁלֹמֹ֛ה H8010 And Solomon שִׁבְעִ֥ים H7657 had threescore and ten אֶ֖לֶף H505 thousand נֹשֵׂ֣א H5375 that bare סַבָּ֑ל H5449 burdens וּשְׁמֹנִ֥ים H8084 and fourscore אֶ֖לֶף H505 thousand חֹצֵ֥ב H2672 hewers בָּהָֽר׃ H2022 in the mountains

¹⁶ לְ֠בַד H905 alone מִשָּׂרֵ֨י H8269 Beside the chief הַנִּצָּבִ֤ים H5324 officers לִשְׁלֹמֹה֙ H8010 of Solomon's אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 who עַל־ H5921 over הַמְּלָאכָ֔ה H4399 which over the work שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת H7969 three אֲלָפִ֖ים H505 thousand וּשְׁלֹ֣שׁ H7969 and three מֵא֑וֹת H3967 hundred הָרֹדִ֣ים H7287 which ruled בָּעָ֔ם H5971 over the people הָעֹשִׂ֖ים H6213 that wrought בַּמְּלָאכָֽה׃ H4399 in the work

¹⁷ וַיְצַ֣ו H6680 commanded הַמֶּ֡לֶךְ H4428 And the king וַיַּסִּעוּ֩ H5265 and they brought אֲבָנִ֨ים H68 stones גְּדֹל֜וֹת H1419 great אֲבָנִ֧ים H68 stones יְקָר֛וֹת H3368 costly לְיַסֵּ֥ד H3245 to lay the foundation הַבָּ֖יִת H1004 of the house אַבְנֵ֥י H68 stones גָזִֽית׃ H1496 hewed

¹⁸ וַֽיִּפְסְל֞וּ H6458 did hew בֹּנֵ֧י H1129 builders שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה H8010 And Solomon's וּבֹנֵ֥י H1129 builders חִיר֖וֹם H2438 and Hiram's וְהַגִּבְלִ֑ים H1382 and the stonesquarers וַיָּכִ֛ינוּ H3559 so they prepared הָעֵצִ֥ים H6086 timber וְהָאֲבָנִ֖ים H68 and stones לִבְנ֥וֹת H1129 to build הַבָּֽיִת׃ H1004 the house פ

¹ וַיְהִ֣י H1961 came בִשְׁמוֹנִ֣ים H8084 and eightieth שָׁנָ֣ה H8141 year וְאַרְבַּ֣ע H702 And it came to pass in the four מֵא֣וֹת H3967 hundred שָׁנָ֡ה H8141 year לְצֵ֣את H3318 were come out בְּנֵֽי־ H1121 after the children יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל H3478 of Israel מֵאֶֽרֶץ־ H776 of the land מִצְרַיִם֩ H4714 of Egypt בַּשָּׁנָ֨ה H8141 year הָרְבִיעִ֜ית H7243 in the fourth בְּחֹ֣דֶשׁ H2320 in the month זִ֗ו H2099 Zif ה֚וּא H1931 which הַחֹ֣דֶשׁ H2320 month הַשֵּׁנִ֔י H8145 which the second לִמְלֹ֥ךְ H4427 reign שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה H8010 of Solomon's עַל־ H5921 over יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 over Israel וַיִּ֥בֶן H1129 that he began to build הַבַּ֖יִת H1004 the house לַיהוָֽה׃ H3068 of the LORD

² וְהַבַּ֗יִת H1004 And the house אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 which בָּנָ֜ה H1129 built הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ H4428 which king שְׁלֹמֹה֙ H8010 Solomon לַֽיהוָ֔ה H3068 for the LORD שִׁשִּֽׁים־ H8346 thereof threescore אַמָּ֥ה H520 cubits אָרְכּ֖וֹ H753 the length וְעֶשְׂרִ֤ים H6242 thereof twenty רָחְבּ֑וֹ H7341 and the breadth וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים H7970 thereof thirty אַמָּ֖ה H520 cubits קוֹמָתֽוֹ׃ H6967 and the height

³ וְהָאוּלָ֗ם H197 And the porch עַל־ H5921 along פְּנֵי֙ H6440 before הֵיכַ֣ל H1964 the temple הַבַּ֔יִת H1004 of the house עֶשְׂרִ֣ים H6242 twenty אַמָּה֙ H520 cubits אָרְכּ֔וֹ H753 the length עַל־ H5921 along פְּנֵ֖י H6440 the front רֹ֣חַב H7341 thereof according to the breadth הַבָּ֑יִת H1004 of the house עֶ֧שֶׂר H6235 ten בָּאַמָּ֛ה H520 cubits רָחְבּ֖וֹ H7341 the breadth עַל־ H5921 along פְּנֵ֥י H6440 the front הַבָּֽיִת׃ H1004 thereof before the house

⁴ וַיַּ֣עַשׂ H6213 he made לַבָּ֔יִת H1004 And for the house חַלּוֹנֵ֖י H2474 windows שְׁקֻפִ֥ים H8261 lights אֲטֻמִֽים׃ H331 of narrow

⁵ וַיִּבֶן֩ H1129 he built עַל־ H5921 Against קִ֨יר H7023 And against the wall הַבַּ֤יִת H1004 of the house <יָצֹועַ כ> (יָצִ֙יעַ֙ H3326 bed ק) סָבִ֔יב H5439 round about אֶת־ H853 קִיר֤וֹת H7023 the walls הַבַּ֙יִת֙ H1004 of the house סָבִ֔יב H5439 round about לַֽהֵיכָ֖ל H1964 of the temple וְלַדְּבִ֑יר H1687 and of the oracle וַיַּ֥עַשׂ H6213 and he made צְלָע֖וֹת H6763 chambers סָבִֽיב׃ H5439 round about

⁶ <הַיָּצֹועַ כ> (הַיָּצִ֨יעַ H3326 bed ק) הַתַּחְתֹּנָ֜ה H8481 The nethermost חָמֵ֧שׁ H2568 five בָּאַמָּ֣ה H520 cubits רָחְבָּ֗הּ H7341 broad וְהַתִּֽיכֹנָה֙ H8484 and the middle שֵׁ֤שׁ H8337 six בָּֽאַמָּה֙ H520 cubits רָחְבָּ֔הּ H7341 broad וְהַ֨שְּׁלִישִׁ֔ית H7992 and the third שֶׁ֥בַע H7651 seven בָּאַמָּ֖ה H520 cubits רָחְבָּ֑הּ H7341 broad כִּ֡י H3588 for מִגְרָעוֹת֩ H4052 narrowed rests נָתַ֨ן H5414 he made לַבַּ֤יִת H1004 the house סָבִיב֙ H5439 round about ח֔וּצָה H2351 for without of לְבִלְתִּ֖י H1115 because אֲחֹ֥ז H270 that should not be fastened בְּקִֽירוֹת־ H7023 in the walls הַבָּֽיִת׃ H1004 of the house

⁷ וְהַבַּ֙יִת֙ H1004 And the house בְּהִבָּ֣נֹת֔וֹ H1129 when it was in building אֶֽבֶן־ H68 of stone שְׁלֵמָ֥ה H8003 made ready מַסָּ֖ע H4551 before it was brought נִבְנָ֑ה H1129 was built וּמַקָּב֤וֹת H4717 thither so that there was neither hammer וְהַגַּרְזֶן֙ H1631 nor axe כָּל־ H3605 any כְּלִ֣י H3627 any tool בַרְזֶ֔ל H1270 of iron לֹֽא־ H3808 neither נִשְׁמַ֥ע H8085 heard בַּבַּ֖יִת H1004 in the house בְּהִבָּנֹתֽוֹ׃ H1129 while it was in building

⁸ פֶּ֗תַח H6607 The door הַצֵּלָע֙ H6763 chamber הַתִּ֣יכֹנָ֔ה H8484 for the middle אֶל־ H413 about כֶּ֥תֶף H3802 side הַבַּ֖יִת H1004 of the house הַיְמָנִ֑ית H3233 in the right וּבְלוּלִּ֗ים H3883 with winding stairs יַֽעֲלוּ֙ H5927 and they went up עַל־ H5921 unto הַתִּ֣יכֹנָ֔ה H8484 into the middle וּמִן־ H4480 at הַתִּֽיכֹנָ֖ה H8484 and out of the middle אֶל־ H413 to הַשְּׁלִשִֽׁים׃ H7992 into the third

⁹ וַיִּ֥בֶן H1129 So he built אֶת־ H853 הַבַּ֖יִת H1004 the house וַיְכַלֵּ֑הוּ H3615 and finished וַיִּסְפֹּ֤ן H5603 it and covered אֶת־ H853 הַבַּ֙יִת֙ H1004 the house גֵּבִ֔ים H1356 with beams וּשְׂדֵרֹ֖ת H7713 and boards בָּאֲרָזִֽים׃ H729 made of cedar

¹⁰ וַיִּ֤בֶן H1129 And he built אֶת־ H853 <הַיָּצֹועַ כ> (הַיָּצִ֙יעַ֙ H3326 bed ק) עַל־ H5921 against כָּל־ H3605 the whole הַבַּ֔יִת H1004 against all the house חָמֵ֥שׁ H2568 five אַמּ֖וֹת H520 cubits קֽוֹמָת֑וֹ H6967 high וַיֶּאֱחֹ֥ז H270 and they rested אֶת־ H853 הַבַּ֖יִת H1004 on the house בַּעֲצֵ֥י H6086 timber אֲרָזִֽים׃ H730 of cedar פ

¹¹ וַֽיְהִי֙ H1961 came דְּבַר־ H1697 And the word יְהוָ֔ה H3069 God אֶל־ H413 to שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה H8010 came to Solomon לֵאמֹֽר׃ H559 saying

¹² הַבַּ֨יִת H1004 this house הַזֶּ֜ה H2088 this אֲשֶׁר־ H834 which אַתָּ֣ה H859 you בֹנֶ֗ה H1129 which thou art in building אִם־ H518 if תֵּלֵ֤ךְ H1980 will walk בְּחֻקֹּתַי֙ H2708 in my statutes וְאֶת־ H853 מִשְׁפָּטַ֣י H4941 my judgments תַּֽעֲשֶׂ֔ה H6213 and execute וְשָׁמַרְתָּ֥ H8104 and keep אֶת־ H853 כָּל־ H3605 all מִצְוֹתַ֖י H4687 all my commandments לָלֶ֣כֶת H1980 walking בָּהֶ֑ם H0 וַהֲקִמֹתִ֤י H6965 in them then will I perform אֶת־ H853 דְּבָרִי֙ H1697 my word אִתָּ֔ךְ H854 for אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which דִּבַּ֖רְתִּי H1696 with thee which I spake אֶל־ H413 to דָּוִ֥ד H1732 unto David אָבִֽיךָ׃ H1 thy father

¹³ וְשָׁ֣כַנְתִּ֔י H7931 And I will dwell בְּת֖וֹךְ H8432 among בְּנֵ֣י H1121 the children יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 of Israel וְלֹ֥א H3808 and will not אֶעֱזֹ֖ב H5800 and will not forsake אֶת־ H853 עַמִּ֥י H5971 my people יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 Israel ס

¹⁴ וַיִּ֧בֶן H1129 built שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה H8010 So Solomon אֶת־ H853 הַבַּ֖יִת H1004 the house וַיְכַלֵּֽהוּ׃ H3615 and finished

¹⁵ וַיִּבֶן֩ H1129 And he built אֶת־ H853 קִיר֨וֹת H7023 the walls הַבַּ֤יִת H1004 of the house מִבַּ֙יְתָה֙ H1004 within בְּצַלְע֣וֹת H6763 with boards אֲרָזִ֔ים H730 of cedar מִקַּרְקַ֤ע H7172 both the floor הַבַּ֙יִת֙ H1004 of the house עַד־ H5704 against קִיר֣וֹת H7023 and the walls הַסִּפֻּ֔ן H5604 of the cieling צִפָּ֥ה H6823 he covered עֵ֖ץ H6086 with wood מִבָּ֑יִת H1004 on the inside וַיְצַ֛ף H6823 and covered אֶת־ H853 קַרְקַ֥ע H7172 the floor הַבַּ֖יִת H1004 of the house בְּצַלְע֥וֹת H6763 with planks בְּרוֹשִֽׁים׃ H1265 of fir

¹⁶ וַיִּבֶן֩ H1129 And he built אֶת־ H853 עֶשְׂרִ֨ים H6242 twenty אַמָּ֜ה H520 cubits <מִיַּרְכֹּותֵי כ> (מִֽיַּרְכְּתֵ֤י H3411 border ק) הַבַּ֙יִת֙ H1004 of the house בְּצַלְע֣וֹת H6763 with boards אֲרָזִ֔ים H730 of cedar מִן־ H4480 both הַקַּרְקַ֖ע H7172 the floor עַד־ H5704 against הַקִּיר֑וֹת H7023 and the walls וַיִּ֤בֶן H1129 he even built לוֹ֙ H0 מִבַּ֣יִת H1004 for it within לִדְבִ֔יר H1687 for the oracle לְקֹ֖דֶשׁ H6944 for the most הַקֳּדָשִֽׁים׃ H6944 holy

¹⁷ וְאַרְבָּעִ֥ים H705 it was forty בָּאַמָּ֖ה H520 cubits הָיָ֣ה H1961 become הַבָּ֑יִת H1004 And the house ה֖וּא H1931 that הַהֵיכָ֥ל H1964 that the temple לִפְנָֽי׃ H6440 front

¹⁸ וְאֶ֤רֶז H730 And the cedar אֶל־ H413 on הַבַּ֙יִת֙ H1004 of the house פְּנִ֔ימָה H6441 within מִקְלַ֣עַת H4734 carved פְּקָעִ֔ים H6497 with knops וּפְטוּרֵ֖י H6358 open צִצִּ֑ים H6731 flowers הַכֹּ֣ל H3605 all אֶ֔רֶז H730 all cedar אֵ֥ין H369 there אֶ֖בֶן H68 there was no stone נִרְאָֽה׃ H7200 seen

¹⁹ וּדְבִ֧יר H1687 And the oracle בְּתוֹךְ־ H8432 in הַבַּ֛יִת H1004 the house מִפְּנִ֖ימָה H6441 within הֵכִ֑ין H3559 he prepared לְתִתֵּ֣ן H5414 to set שָׁ֔ם H8033 there אֶת־ H853 אֲר֖וֹן H727 there the ark בְּרִ֥ית H1285 of the covenant יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 of the LORD

²⁰ וְלִפְנֵ֣י H6440 in the forepart הַדְּבִ֡יר H1687 And the oracle עֶשְׂרִים֩ H6242 twenty אַמָּ֨ה H520 cubits אֹ֜רֶךְ H753 in length וְעֶשְׂרִ֧ים H6242 and twenty אַמָּ֣ה H520 cubits רֹ֗חַב H7341 in breadth וְעֶשְׂרִ֤ים H6242 and twenty אַמָּה֙ H520 cubits קֽוֹמָת֔וֹ H6967 in the height וַיְצַפֵּ֖הוּ H6823 thereof and he overlaid זָהָ֣ב H2091 gold סָג֑וּר H5462 it with pure וַיְצַ֥ף H6823 and covered מִזְבֵּ֖חַ H4196 the altar אָֽרֶז׃ H730 cedar

²¹ וַיְצַ֨ף H6823 overlaid שְׁלֹמֹ֧ה H8010 So Solomon אֶת־ H853 הַבַּ֛יִת H1004 the house מִפְּנִ֖ימָה H6441 within זָהָ֣ב H2091 gold סָג֑וּר H5462 with pure וַיְעַבֵּ֞ר H5674 and he made a partition <בְּרַתִּיקֹות כ> (בְּרַתּוּקֹ֤ות H7572 chain ק) זָהָב֙ H2091 of gold לִפְנֵ֣י H6440 before הַדְּבִ֔יר H1687 the oracle וַיְצַפֵּ֖הוּ H6823 and he overlaid זָהָֽב׃ H2091 it with gold

²² וְאֶת־ H853 כָּל־ H3605 the whole הַבַּ֛יִת H1004 And the whole house צִפָּ֥ה H6823 he overlaid זָהָ֖ב H2091 with gold עַד־ H5704 until תֹּ֣ם H8552 until he had finished כָּל־ H3605 all הַבָּ֑יִת H1004 all the house וְכָל־ H3605 the whole הַמִּזְבֵּ֥חַ H4196 also the whole altar אֲ‍ֽשֶׁר־ H834 which לַדְּבִ֖יר H1687 that by the oracle צִפָּ֥ה H6823 he overlaid זָהָֽב׃ H2091 with gold

²³ וַיַּ֣עַשׂ H6213 he made בַּדְּבִ֔יר H1687 And within the oracle שְׁנֵ֥י H8147 two כְרוּבִ֖ים H3742 cherubims עֲצֵי־ H6086 tree שָׁ֑מֶן H8081 olive עֶ֥שֶׂר H6235 ten אַמּ֖וֹת H520 cubits קוֹמָתֽוֹ׃ H6967 high

²⁴ וְחָמֵ֣שׁ H2568 And five אַמּ֗וֹת H520 cubits כְּנַ֤ף H3671 wing הַכְּרוּב֙ H3742 of the cherub הָֽאֶחָ֔ת H259 the one וְחָמֵ֣שׁ H2568 and five אַמּ֔וֹת H520 cubits כְּנַ֥ף H3671 wing הַכְּר֖וּב H3742 of the cherub הַשֵּׁנִ֑ית H8145 the other עֶ֣שֶׂר H6235 ten אַמּ֔וֹת H520 cubits מִקְצ֥וֹת H7098 from the uttermost part כְּנָפָ֖יו H3671 of the one wing וְעַד־ H5704 against קְצ֥וֹת H7098 unto the uttermost part כְּנָפָֽיו׃ H3671 of the other

²⁵ וְעֶ֙שֶׂר֙ H6235 ten בָּֽאַמָּ֔ה H520 cubits הַכְּר֖וּב H3742 cherub הַשֵּׁנִ֑י H8145 And the other מִדָּ֥ה H4060 measure אַחַ֛ת H259 of one וְקֶ֥צֶב H7095 size אֶחָ֖ד H259 and one לִשְׁנֵ֥י H8147 both הַכְּרֻבִֽים׃ H3742 the cherubims

²⁶ קוֹמַת֙ H6967 The height הַכְּר֣וּב H3742 cherub הָֽאֶחָ֔ד H259 of the one עֶ֖שֶׂר H6235 ten בָּֽאַמָּ֑ה H520 cubits וְכֵ֖ן H3651 and so הַכְּר֥וּב H3742 cherub הַשֵּׁנִֽי׃ H8145 and so of the other

²⁷ וַיִּתֵּ֨ן H5414 And he set אֶת־ H853 הַכְּרוּבִ֜ים H3742 the cherubims בְּת֣וֹךְ ׀ H8432 within הַבַּ֣יִת H1004 house הַפְּנִימִ֗י H6442 the inner וַֽיִּפְרְשׂוּ֮ H6566 and they stretched forth אֶת־ H853 כַּנְפֵ֣י H3671 the wings הַכְּרֻבִים֒ H3742 of the cherubims וַתִּגַּ֤ע H5060 touched כְּנַף־ H3671 so that the wing הָֽאֶחָד֙ H259 of the one בַּקִּ֔יר H7023 the wall וּכְנַף֙ H3671 and the wing הַכְּר֣וּב H3742 cherub הַשֵּׁנִ֔י H8145 of the other נֹגַ֖עַת H5060 touched בַּקִּ֣יר H7023 wall הַשֵּׁנִ֑י H8145 the other וְכַנְפֵיהֶם֙ H3671 and their wings אֶל־ H413 in תּ֣וֹךְ H8432 in the midst הַבַּ֔יִת H1004 of the house נֹגְעֹ֖ת H5060 touched כָּנָ֥ף H3671 one אֶל־ H413 about כָּנָֽף׃ H3671 another

³¹ וְאֵת֙ H853 פֶּ֣תַח H6607 And for the entering הַדְּבִ֔יר H1687 of the oracle עָשָׂ֖ה H6213 he made דַּלְת֣וֹת H1817 doors עֲצֵי־ H6086 tree שָׁ֑מֶן H8081 olive הָאַ֥יִל H352 the lintel מְזוּז֖וֹת H4201 side posts חֲמִשִֽׁית׃ H2549 a fifth part

³² וּשְׁתֵּי֮ H8147 The two דַּלְת֣וֹת H1817 doors עֲצֵי־ H6086 tree שֶׁמֶן֒ H8081 also olive וְקָלַ֣ע H7049 and he carved עֲ֠לֵיהֶם H5921 on מִקְלְע֨וֹת H4734 upon them carvings כְּרוּבִ֧ים H3742 of cherubims וְתִמֹר֛וֹת H8561 and palm trees וּפְטוּרֵ֥י H6358 open צִצִּ֖ים H6731 flowers וְצִפָּ֣ה H6823 and overlaid זָהָ֑ב H2091 with gold וַיָּ֛רֶד H7286 and spread עַל־ H5921 on הַכְּרוּבִ֥ים H3742 upon the cherubims וְעַל־ H5921 and הַתִּֽמֹר֖וֹת H8561 and upon the palm trees אֶת־ H853 הַזָּהָֽב׃ H2091 gold

³⁴ וּשְׁתֵּ֥י H8147 And the two דַלְת֖וֹת H1817 doors עֲצֵ֣י H6086 tree בְרוֹשִׁ֑ים H1265 fir שְׁנֵ֨י H8147 the two צְלָעִ֜ים H6763 leaves הַדֶּ֤לֶת H1817 door הָֽאַחַת֙ H259 of the one גְּלִילִ֔ים H1550 folding וּשְׁנֵ֧י H8147 and the two קְלָעִ֛ים H7050 leaves הַדֶּ֥לֶת H1817 door הַשֵּׁנִ֖ית H8145 of the other גְּלִילִֽים׃ H1550 folding

³⁵ וְקָלַ֤ע H7049 And he carved כְּרוּבִים֙ H3742 cherubims וְתִ֣מֹר֔וֹת H8561 and palm trees וּפְטֻרֵ֖י H6358 open צִצִּ֑ים H6731 flowers וְצִפָּ֣ה H6823 and covered זָהָ֔ב H2091 with gold מְיֻשָּׁ֖ר H3474 fitted עַל־ H5921 on הַמְּחֻקֶּֽה׃ H2707 upon the carved work

³⁶ וַיִּ֙בֶן֙ H1129 And he built אֶת־ H853 הֶחָצֵ֣ר H2691 court הַפְּנִימִ֔ית H6442 the inner שְׁלֹשָׁ֖ה H7969 with three טוּרֵ֣י H2905 rows גָזִ֑ית H1496 of hewed stone וְט֖וּר H2905 and a row כְּרֻתֹ֥ת H3773 beams אֲרָזִֽים׃ H730 of cedar

³⁷ בַּשָּׁנָה֙ H8141 year הָֽרְבִיעִ֔ית H7243 In the fourth יֻסַּ֖ד H3245 laid בֵּ֣ית H1004 of the house יְהוָ֑ה H3068 of the LORD בְּיֶ֖רַח H3391 in the month זִֽו׃ H2099 Zif

³⁸ וּבַשָּׁנָה֩ H8141 year הָאַחַ֨ת H259 a עֶשְׂרֵ֜ה H6240 ten בְּיֶ֣רַח H3391 in the month בּ֗וּל H945 Bul ה֚וּא H1931 which הַחֹ֣דֶשׁ H2320 month הַשְּׁמִינִ֔י H8066 which the eighth כָּלָ֣ה H3615 finished הַבַּ֔יִת H1004 was the house לְכָל־ H3605 all דְּבָרָ֖יו H1697 throughout all the parts וּלְכָל־ H3605 to all <מִשְׁפָּטֹו כ> (מִשְׁפָּטָ֑יו H4941 adversary ק) וַיִּבְנֵ֖הוּ H1129 in building שֶׁ֥בַע H7651 of it So was he seven שָׁנִֽים׃ H8141 years

¹ וְאֶת־ H853 בֵּיתוֹ֙ H1004 his own house בָּנָ֣ה H1129 was building שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 But Solomon שְׁלֹ֥שׁ H7969 three עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה H6240 ten שָׁנָ֑ה H8141 years וַיְכַ֖ל H3615 and he finished אֶת־ H853 כָּל־ H3605 all בֵּיתֽוֹ׃ H1004 all his house

² וַיִּ֜בֶן H1129 He built אֶת־ H853 בֵּ֣ית ׀ H1004 also the house יַ֣עַר H3293 of the forest הַלְּבָנ֗וֹן H3844 of Lebanon מֵאָ֨ה H3967 thereof an hundred אַמָּ֤ה H520 cubits אָרְכּוֹ֙ H753 the length וַחֲמִשִּׁ֤ים H2572 thereof fifty אַמָּה֙ H520 cubits רָחְבּ֔וֹ H7341 and the breadth וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים H7970 thereof thirty אַמָּ֖ה H520 cubits קוֹמָת֑וֹ H6967 and the height עַ֗ל H5921 on אַרְבָּעָה֙ H702 upon four טוּרֵי֙ H2905 rows עַמּוּדֵ֣י H5982 pillars אֲרָזִ֔ים H730 of cedar וּכְרֻת֥וֹת H3773 beams אֲרָזִ֖ים H730 with cedar עַל־ H5921 on הָעַמּוּדִֽים׃ H5982 upon the pillars

³ וְסָפֻ֣ן H5603 And covered בָּאֶ֗רֶז H730 with cedar מִמַּ֙עַל֙ H4605 above עַל־ H5921 upon הַצְּלָעֹת֙ H6763 upon the beams אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 after עַל־ H5921 and הָֽעַמּוּדִ֔ים H5982 pillars אַרְבָּעִ֖ים H705 that on forty וַחֲמִשָּׁ֑ה H2568 five חֲמִשָּׁ֥ה H2568 fif עָשָׂ֖ר H6240 fifteen הַטּֽוּר׃ H2905 a row

⁵ וְכָל־ H3605 All הַפְּתָחִ֥ים H6607 And all the doors וְהַמְּזוּז֖וֹת H4201 and posts רְבֻעִ֣ים H7251 square שָׁ֑קֶף H8260 with the windows וּמ֧וּל H4136 against מֶחֱזָ֛ה H4237 and light אֶל־ H413 about מֶחֱזָ֖ה H4237 light שָׁלֹ֥שׁ H7969 three פְּעָמִֽים׃ H6471 ranks

⁶ וְאֵ֨ת H853 אוּלָ֤ם H197 a porch הָֽעַמּוּדִים֙ H5982 of pillars עָשָׂ֔ה H6213 And he made חֲמִשִּׁ֤ים H2572 thereof fifty אַמָּה֙ H520 cubits אָרְכּ֔וֹ H753 the length וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים H7970 thereof thirty אַמָּ֖ה H520 cubits רָחְבּ֑וֹ H7341 and the breadth וְאוּלָם֙ H197 and the porch עַל־ H5921 in פְּנֵיהֶ֔ם H6440 before וְעַמֻּדִ֥ים H5982 them and the pillars וְעָ֖ב H5646 and the thick beam עַל־ H5921 in פְּנֵיהֶֽם׃ H6440 front

⁷ וְאוּלָ֤ם H197 a porch הַכִּסֵּא֙ H3678 for the throne אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 he יִשְׁפָּט־ H8199 where he might judge שָׁ֔ם H8033 in it אֻלָ֥ם H197 the porch הַמִּשְׁפָּ֖ט H4941 of judgment עָשָׂ֑ה H6213 Then he made וְסָפ֣וּן H5603 and covered בָּאֶ֔רֶז H730 with cedar מֵהַקַּרְקַ֖ע H7172 from one side of the floor עַד־ H5704 against הַקַּרְקָֽע׃ H7172 to the other

⁸ וּבֵיתוֹ֩ H1004 And his house אֲשֶׁר־ H834 whom יֵ֨שֶׁב H3427 where he dwelt שָׁ֜ם H8033 in it חָצֵ֣ר H2691 court הָאַחֶ֗רֶת H312 another מִבֵּית֙ H1004 within לָֽאוּלָ֔ם H197 the porch כַּמַּֽעֲשֶׂ֥ה H4639 was of the like work הַזֶּ֖ה H2088 the same הָיָ֑ה H1961 become וּבַ֜יִת H1004 also an house יַעֲשֶׂ֤ה H6213 made לְבַת־ H1323 daughter פַּרְעֹה֙ H6547 for Pharaoh's אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 whom לָקַ֣ח H3947 whom he had taken שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 Solomon כָּאוּלָ֖ם H197 like unto this porch הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 this

⁹ כָּל־ H3605 All אֵ֜לֶּה H428 these אֲבָנִ֤ים H68 stones יְקָרֹת֙ H3368 All these costly כְּמִדֹּ֣ת H4060 according to the measures גָּזִ֔ית H1496 of hewed stones מְגֹרָר֥וֹת H1641 sawed בַּמְּגֵרָ֖ה H4050 with saws מִבַּ֣יִת H1004 within וּמִח֑וּץ H2351 and without וּמִמַּסָּד֙ H4527 even from the foundation עַד־ H5704 against הַטְּפָח֔וֹת H2947 unto the coping וּמִח֖וּץ H2351 and on the outside עַד־ H5704 against הֶחָצֵ֥ר H2691 court הַגְּדוֹלָֽה׃ H1419 toward the great

¹⁰ וּמְיֻסָּ֕ד H3245 And the foundation אֲבָנִ֥ים H68 stones יְקָר֖וֹת H3368 costly אֲבָנִ֣ים H68 stones גְּדֹל֑וֹת H1419 even great אַבְנֵי֙ H68 stones עֶ֣שֶׂר H6235 of ten אַמּ֔וֹת H520 cubits וְאַבְנֵ֖י H68 and stones שְׁמֹנֶ֥ה H8083 of eight אַמּֽוֹת׃ H520 cubits

¹¹ וּמִלְמַ֗עְלָה H4605 And above אֲבָנִ֧ים H68 stones יְקָר֛וֹת H3368 costly כְּמִדּ֥וֹת H4060 after the measures גָּזִ֖ית H1496 of hewed stones וָאָֽרֶז׃ H730 and cedars

¹² וְחָצֵ֨ר H2691 court הַגְּדוֹלָ֜ה H1419 And the great סָבִ֗יב H5439 round about שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ H7969 with three טוּרִ֣ים H2905 rows גָּזִ֔ית H1496 of hewed stones וְט֖וּר H2905 and a row כְּרֻתֹ֣ת H3773 beams אֲרָזִ֑ים H730 of cedar וְלַחֲצַ֧ר H2691 court בֵּית־ H1004 of the house יְהוָ֛ה H3068 of the LORD הַפְּנִימִ֖ית H6442 both for the inner וּלְאֻלָ֥ם H197 and for the porch הַבָּֽיִת׃ H1004 of the house פ

¹³ וַיִּשְׁלַח֙ H7971 sent הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 And king שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 Solomon וַיִּקַּ֥ח H3947 and fetched אֶת־ H853 חִירָ֖ם H2438 Hiram מִצֹּֽר׃ H6865 out of Tyre

¹⁴ בֶּן־ H1121 son אִשָּׁה֩ H802 ess אַלְמָנָ֨ה H490 was a widow's ה֜וּא H1931 he מִמַּטֵּ֣ה H4294 of the tribe נַפְתָּלִ֗י H5321 of Naphtali וְאָבִ֣יו H1 and his father אִישׁ־ H376 a man צֹרִי֮ H6876 of Tyre חֹרֵ֣שׁ H2794 artificer נְחֹשֶׁת֒ H5178 in brass וַ֠יִּמָּלֵא H4390 and he was filled אֶת־ H853 הַחָכְמָ֤ה H2451 with wisdom וְאֶת־ H853 הַתְּבוּנָה֙ H8394 and understanding וְאֶת־ H853 הַדַּ֔עַת H1847 and cunning לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת H6213 to work כָּל־ H3605 any מְלָאכָ֖ה H4399 all works בַּנְּחֹ֑שֶׁת H5178 in brass וַיָּבוֹא֙ H935 And he came אֶל־ H413 to הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 to king שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 Solomon וַיַּ֖עַשׂ H6213 and wrought אֶת־ H853 כָּל־ H3605 all מְלַאכְתּֽוֹ׃ H4399 all his work

¹⁵ וַיָּ֛צַר H6696 For he cast אֶת־ H853 שְׁנֵ֥י H8147 two הָעַמּוּדִ֖ים H5982 pillars נְחֹ֑שֶׁת H5178 of brass שְׁמֹנֶ֨ה H8083 eight עֶשְׂרֵ֜ה H6240 teen אַמָּ֗ה H520 cubits קוֹמַת֙ H6967 high הָעַמּ֣וּד H5982 pillar הָאֶחָ֔ד H259 of one וְחוּט֙ H2339 and a line שְׁתֵּים־ H8147 of both עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה H6240 ten אַמָּ֔ה H520 cubits יָסֹ֖ב H5437 of them about אֶת־ H853 הָעַמּ֥וּד H5982 pillars הַשֵּׁנִֽי׃ H8145 either

¹⁸ וַיַּ֖עַשׂ H6213 And he made אֶת־ H853 הָעַמּוּדִ֑ים H5982 the pillars וּשְׁנֵי֩ H8147 and two טוּרִ֨ים H2905 rows סָבִ֜יב H5439 round about עַל־ H5921 and הַשְּׂבָכָ֣ה H7639 network הָאֶחָ֗ת H259 upon the one לְכַסּ֤וֹת H3680 to cover אֶת־ H853 הַכֹּֽתָרֹת֙ H3805 the chapiters אֲשֶׁר֙ H834 which עַל־ H5921 were on רֹ֣אשׁ H7218 that upon the top הָֽרִמֹּנִ֔ים H7416 with pomegranates וְכֵ֣ן H3651 and so עָשָׂ֔ה H6213 and so did לַכֹּתֶ֖רֶת H3805 chapiter הַשֵּׁנִֽית׃ H8145 he for the other

¹⁹ וְכֹֽתָרֹ֗ת H3805 And the chapiters אֲשֶׁר֙ H834 which עַל־ H5921 on רֹ֣אשׁ H7218 that upon the top הָעַמּוּדִ֔ים H5982 of the pillars מַעֲשֵׂ֖ה H4639 work שׁוּשַׁ֣ן H7799 of lily בָּֽאוּלָ֑ם H197 in the porch אַרְבַּ֖ע H702 four אַמּֽוֹת׃ H520 cubits

²⁰ וְכֹתָרֹ֗ת H3805 And the chapiters עַל־ H5921 on שְׁנֵי֙ H8147 upon the two הָֽעַמּוּדִ֔ים H5982 pillars גַּם־ H1571 even מִמַּ֙עַל֙ H4605 also above מִלְּעֻמַּ֣ת H5980 over against הַבֶּ֔טֶן H990 the belly אֲשֶׁ֖ר H834 which לְעֵ֣בֶר H5676 which by <שְׂבָכָה כ> (הַשְּׂבָכָ֑ה H7639 checker ק) וְהָרִמּוֹנִ֤ים H7416 and the pomegranates מָאתַ֙יִם֙ H3967 two hundred טֻרִ֣ים H2905 in rows סָבִ֔יב H5439 round about עַ֖ל H5921 and הַכֹּתֶ֥רֶת H3805 chapiter הַשֵּׁנִֽית׃ H8145 upon the other

²¹ וַיָּ֙קֶם֙ H6965 And he set up אֶת־ H853 הָֽעַמֻּדִ֔ים H5982 the pillars לְאֻלָ֖ם H197 in the porch הַֽהֵיכָ֑ל H1964 of the temple וַיָּ֜קֶם H6965 and he set up אֶת־ H853 הָעַמּ֣וּד H5982 pillar הַיְמָנִ֗י H3233 the right וַיִּקְרָ֤א H7121 and called אֶת־ H853 שְׁמוֹ֙ H8034 the name יָכִ֔ין H3199 thereof Jachin וַיָּ֙קֶם֙ H6965 and he set up אֶת־ H853 הָעַמּ֣וּד H5982 pillar הַשְּׂמָאלִ֔י H8042 the left וַיִּקְרָ֥א H7121 and called אֶת־ H853 שְׁמ֖וֹ H8034 the name בֹּֽעַז׃ H1162 thereof Boaz

²² וְעַ֛ל H5921 on רֹ֥אשׁ H7218 And upon the top הָעַמּוּדִ֖ים H5982 of the pillars מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה H4639 work שׁוֹשָׁ֑ן H7799 lily וַתִּתֹּ֖ם H8552 finished מְלֶ֥אכֶת H4399 so was the work הָעַמּוּדִֽים׃ H5982 of the pillars

²³ וַיַּ֥עַשׂ H6213 And he made אֶת־ H853 הַיָּ֖ם H3220 sea מוּצָ֑ק H4165 casting עֶ֣שֶׂר H6235 ten בָּ֠אַמָּה H520 cubits מִשְּׂפָת֨וֹ H8193 from the one brim עַד־ H5704 against שְׂפָת֜וֹ H8145 again עָגֹ֣ל ׀ H5696 round סָבִ֗יב H5439 all about וְחָמֵ֤שׁ H2568 five בָּֽאַמָּה֙ H520 cubits קוֹמָת֔וֹ H6967 and his height <וּקְוֵה כ> (וְקָו֙ H6961 line ק) שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים H7970 of thirty בָּֽאַמָּ֔ה H520 cubits יָסֹ֥ב H5437 did compass אֹת֖וֹ H853 סָבִֽיב׃ H5439 it round about

²⁴ וּפְקָעִים֩ H6497 knops מִתַּ֨חַת H8478 Under לִשְׂפָת֤וֹ ׀ H8193 And under the brim סָבִיב֙ H5439 of it round about סֹבְבִ֣ים H5437 compassing אֹת֔וֹ H853 עֶ֚שֶׂר H6235 it ten בָּֽאַמָּ֔ה H520 in a cubit מַקִּפִ֥ים H5362 compassing אֶת־ H853 הַיָּ֖ם H3220 the sea סָבִ֑יב H5439 round about שְׁנֵ֤י H8147 in two טוּרִים֙ H2905 rows הַפְּקָעִ֔ים H6497 the knops יְצֻקִ֖ים H3332 when it was cast בִּיצֻקָתֽוֹ׃ H3333 cast

²⁵ עֹמֵ֞ד H5975 It stood עַל־ H5921 and שְׁנֵ֧י H8147 both עָשָׂ֣ר H6240 ten בָּקָ֗ר H1241 oxen שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה H7969 three פֹנִ֣ים ׀ H6437 looking צָפ֡וֹנָה H6828 toward the north וּשְׁלֹשָׁה֩ H7969 and three פֹנִ֨ים ׀ H6437 looking יָ֜מָּה H3220 toward the west וּשְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה ׀ H7969 and three פֹּנִ֣ים H6437 looking נֶ֗גְבָּה H5045 toward the south וּשְׁלֹשָׁה֙ H7969 and three פֹּנִ֣ים H6437 looking מִזְרָ֔חָה H4217 toward the east וְהַיָּ֥ם H3220 and the sea עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם H5921 on מִלְמָ֑עְלָה H4605 above וְכָל־ H3605 and all אֲחֹֽרֵיהֶ֖ם H268 upon them and all their hinder parts בָּֽיְתָה׃ H1004 inward

²⁸ וְזֶ֛ה H2088 This מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה H4639 And the work הַמְּכוֹנָ֖ה H4350 of the bases מִסְגְּרֹ֣ת H4526 on this they had borders לָהֶ֑ם H1992 even וּמִסְגְּרֹ֖ת H4526 and the borders בֵּ֥ין H996 between הַשְׁלַבִּֽים׃ H7948 between the ledges

²⁹ וְעַֽל־ H5921 and on הַמִּסְגְּר֞וֹת H4526 And on the borders אֲשֶׁ֣ר ׀ H834 which בֵּ֣ין H996 were between הַשְׁלַבִּ֗ים H7948 that between the ledges אֲרָי֤וֹת ׀ H738 lions בָּקָר֙ H1241 oxen וּכְרוּבִ֔ים H3742 and cherubims וְעַל־ H5921 and on הַשְׁלַבִּ֖ים H7948 and upon the ledges כֵּ֣ן H3653 a base מִמָּ֑עַל H4605 above וּמִתַּ֙חַת֙ H8478 Thahash לַאֲרָי֣וֹת H738 and beneath the lions וְלַבָּקָ֔ר H1241 and oxen לֹי֖וֹת H3914 certain additions מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה H4639 work מוֹרָֽד׃ H4174 made of thin

³⁰ וְאַרְבָּעָה֩ H702 had four אוֹפַנֵּ֨י H212 wheels נְחֹ֜שֶׁת H5178 brasen לַמְּכוֹנָ֤ה H4350 base הָֽאַחַת֙ H259 And every וְסַרְנֵ֣י H5633 and plates נְחֹ֔שֶׁת H5178 of brass וְאַרְבָּעָ֥ה H702 and the four פַעֲמֹתָ֖יו H6471 corners כְּתֵפֹ֣ת H3802 thereof had undersetters לָהֶ֑ם H0 מִתַּ֤חַת H8478 Thahash לַכִּיֹּר֙ H3595 under the laver הַכְּתֵפֹ֣ת H3802 undersetters יְצֻק֔וֹת H3333 when it was cast מֵעֵ֥בֶר H5676 at the side אִ֖ישׁ H376 of every לֹיֽוֹת׃ H3914 addition

³¹ וּ֠פִיהוּ H6310 And the mouth מִבֵּ֨ית H1004 of it within לַכֹּתֶ֤רֶת H3805 the chapiter וָמַ֙עְלָה֙ H4605 and above בָּֽאַמָּ֔ה H520 a cubit וּפִ֙יהָ֙ H6310 but the mouth עָגֹ֣ל H5696 thereof round מַעֲשֵׂה־ H4639 the work כֵ֔ן H3653 of the base אַמָּ֖ה H520 a cubit וַחֲצִ֣י H2677 and an half הָֽאַמָּ֑ה H520 A cubit וְגַם־ H1571 and also עַל־ H5921 on פִּ֙יהָ֙ H6310 and also upon the mouth מִקְלָע֔וֹת H4734 of it gravings וּמִסְגְּרֹתֵיהֶ֥ם H4526 with their borders מְרֻבָּע֖וֹת H7251 foursquare לֹ֥א H3808 not עֲגֻלּֽוֹת׃ H5696 not round

³² וְאַרְבַּ֣עַת H702 four הָאֽוֹפַנִּ֗ים H212 wheels לְמִתַּ֙חַת֙ H8478 And under לַֽמִּסְגְּר֔וֹת H4526 the borders וִיד֥וֹת H3027 and the axletrees הָאֽוֹפַנִּ֖ים H212 of the wheels בַּמְּכוֹנָ֑ה H4350 to the base וְקוֹמַת֙ H6967 and the height הָאוֹפַ֣ן H212 wheel הָאֶחָ֔ד H259 of a אַמָּ֖ה H520 a cubit וַחֲצִ֥י H2677 and half הָאַמָּֽה׃ H520 a cubit

³³ וּמַֽעֲשֵׂה֙ H4639 And the work הָא֣וֹפַנִּ֔ים H212 of the wheels כְּמַעֲשֵׂ֖ה H4639 like the work אוֹפַ֣ן H212 wheel הַמֶּרְכָּבָ֑ה H4818 of a chariot יְדוֹתָ֣ם H3027 their axletrees וְגַבֵּיהֶ֗ם H1354 and their naves וְחִשֻּׁקֵיהֶ֛ם H2839 and their felloes וְחִשֻּׁרֵיהֶ֖ם H2840 and their spokes הַכֹּ֥ל H3605 all מוּצָֽק׃ H3332 all molten

³⁴ וְאַרְבַּ֣ע H702 And four כְּתֵפ֔וֹת H3802 undersetters אֶ֚ל H413 at אַרְבַּ֣ע H702 to the four פִּנּ֔וֹת H6438 corners הַמְּכֹנָ֖ה H4350 base הָֽאֶחָ֑ת H259 of one מִן־ H4480 at הַמְּכֹנָ֖ה H4350 of the very base כְּתֵפֶֽיהָ׃ H3802 the undersetters

³⁵ וּבְרֹ֣אשׁ H7218 And in the top הַמְּכוֹנָ֗ה H4350 of the base חֲצִ֧י H2677 of half הָאַמָּ֛ה H520 a cubit קוֹמָ֖ה H6967 high עָגֹ֣ל ׀ H5696 a round סָבִ֑יב H5439 compass וְעַ֨ל H5921 and on רֹ֤אשׁ H7218 and on the top הַמְּכֹנָה֙ H4350 of the base יְדֹתֶ֔יהָ H3027 the ledges וּמִסְגְּרֹתֶ֖יהָ H4526 thereof and the borders מִמֶּֽנָּה׃ H4480 part

³⁶ וַיְפַתַּ֤ח H6605 thereof he graved עַל־ H5921 on הַלֻּחֹת֙ H3871 For on the plates יְדֹתֶ֔יהָ H3027 of the ledges וְעַל֙ H5921 and <וַמִסְגְּרֹתֶיהָ כ> (מִסְגְּרֹתֶ֔יהָ H4526 border ק) כְּרוּבִ֖ים H3742 cherubims אֲרָי֣וֹת H738 lions וְתִמֹרֹ֑ת H8561 and palm trees כְּמַֽעַר־ H4626 according to the proportion אִ֥ישׁ H376 of every one וְלֹי֖וֹת H3914 and additions סָבִֽיב׃ H5439 round about

³⁷ כָּזֹ֣את H2063 He עָשָׂ֔ה H6213 After this he made אֵ֖ת H853 עֶ֣שֶׂר H6235 the ten הַמְּכֹנ֑וֹת H4350 bases מוּצָ֨ק H4165 casting אֶחָ֜ד H259 all of them had one מִדָּ֥ה H4060 measure אַחַ֛ת H259 one קֶ֥צֶב H7095 size אֶחָ֖ד H259 one לְכֻלָּֽהְנָה׃ H3605 all ס

³⁸ וַיַּ֛עַשׂ H6213 Then made עֲשָׂרָ֥ה H6235 he ten כִיֹּר֖וֹת H3595 lavers נְחֹ֑שֶׁת H5178 of brass אַרְבָּעִ֨ים H705 forty בַּ֜ת H1324 baths יָכִ֣יל ׀ H3557 contained הַכִּיּ֣וֹר H3595 laver הָאֶחָ֗ד H259 one אַרְבַּ֤ע H702 was four בָּֽאַמָּה֙ H520 cubits הַכִּיּ֣וֹר H3595 laver הָאֶחָ֔ד H259 every כִּיּ֤וֹר H3595 laver אֶחָד֙ H259 upon every one עַל־ H5921 and הַמְּכוֹנָ֣ה H4350 bases הָאַחַ֔ת H259 one לְעֶ֖שֶׂר H6235 of the ten הַמְּכֹנֽוֹת׃ H4350 stands

³⁹ וַיִּתֵּן֙ H5414 And he put אֶת־ H853 הַמְּכֹנ֔וֹת H4350 bases חָמֵ֞שׁ H2568 five עַל־ H5921 and כֶּ֤תֶף H3802 side הַבַּ֙יִת֙ H1004 of the house מִיָּמִ֔ין H3225 on the right וְחָמֵ֛שׁ H2568 and five עַל־ H5921 and כֶּ֥תֶף H3802 side הַבַּ֖יִת H1004 of the house מִשְּׂמֹאל֑וֹ H8040 on the left וְאֶת־ H853 הַיָּ֗ם H3220 the sea נָתַ֞ן H5414 and he set מִכֶּ֨תֶף H3802 side הַבַּ֧יִת H1004 of the house הַיְמָנִ֛ית H3233 on the right קֵ֖דְמָה H6924 eastward מִמּ֥וּל H4136 over against נֶֽגֶב׃ H5045 the south ס

⁴⁰ וַיַּ֣עַשׂ H6213 made חִיר֔וֹם H2438 And Hiram אֶת־ H853 הַ֨כִּיֹּר֔וֹת H3595 the lavers וְאֶת־ H853 הַיָּעִ֖ים H3257 and the shovels וְאֶת־ H853 הַמִּזְרָק֑וֹת H4219 and the basons וַיְכַ֣ל H3615 made חִירָ֗ם H2438 So Hiram לַֽעֲשׂוֹת֙ H6213 an end of doing אֶת־ H853 כָּל־ H3605 all הַמְּלָאכָ֔ה H4399 all the work אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which עָשָׂ֛ה H6213 that he made לַמֶּ֥לֶךְ H4428 king שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה H8010 Solomon בֵּ֥ית H1004 for the house יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 of the LORD

⁴¹ עַמֻּדִ֣ים H5982 pillars שְׁנַ֔יִם H8147 The two וְגֻלֹּ֧ת H1543 and the bowls הַכֹּתָרֹ֛ת H3805 of the chapiters אֲשֶׁר־ H834 which עַל־ H5921 on רֹ֥אשׁ H7218 that on the top הָֽעַמֻּדִ֖ים H5982 pillars שְׁתָּ֑יִם H8147 of the two וְהַשְּׂבָכ֣וֹת H7639 networks שְׁתַּ֔יִם H8147 and the two לְכַסּ֗וֹת H3680 to cover אֶת־ H853 שְׁתֵּי֙ H8147 the two גֻּלֹּ֣ת H1543 bowls הַכֹּֽתָרֹ֔ת H3805 of the chapiters אֲשֶׁ֖ר H834 which עַל־ H5921 on רֹ֥אשׁ H7218 which upon the top הָעַמּוּדִֽים׃ H5982 of the pillars

⁴² וְאֶת־ H853 הָרִמֹּנִ֛ים H7416 pomegranates אַרְבַּ֥ע H702 And four מֵא֖וֹת H3967 hundred לִשְׁתֵּ֣י H8147 for the two הַשְּׂבָכ֑וֹת H7639 networks שְׁנֵֽי־ H8147 two טוּרִ֤ים H2905 rows רִמֹּנִים֙ H7416 of pomegranates לַשְּׂבָכָ֣ה H7639 network הָֽאֶחָ֔ת H259 for one לְכַסּ֗וֹת H3680 to cover אֶת־ H853 שְׁתֵּי֙ H8147 the two גֻּלֹּ֣ת H1543 bowls הַכֹּֽתָרֹ֔ת H3805 of the chapiters אֲשֶׁ֖ר H834 which עַל־ H5921 on פְּנֵ֥י H6440 that upon הָעַמּוּדִֽים׃ H5982 the pillars

⁴³ וְאֶת־ H853 הַמְּכֹנ֖וֹת H4350 bases עָ֑שֶׂר H6235 And the ten וְאֶת־ H853 הַכִּיֹּרֹ֥ת H3595 lavers עֲשָׂרָ֖ה H6235 and ten עַל־ H5921 on הַמְּכֹנֽוֹת׃ H4350 on the bases

⁴⁴ וְאֶת־ H853 הַיָּ֖ם H3220 sea הָאֶחָ֑ד H259 And one וְאֶת־ H853 הַבָּקָ֥ר H1241 oxen שְׁנֵים־ H8147 both עָשָׂ֖ר H6240 ten תַּ֥חַת H8478 under הַיָּֽם׃ H3220 under the sea

⁴⁵ וְאֶת־ H853 הַסִּיר֨וֹת H5518 And the pots וְאֶת־ H853 הַיָּעִ֜ים H3257 and the shovels וְאֶת־ H853 הַמִּזְרָק֗וֹת H4219 and the basons וְאֵת֙ H853 כָּל־ H3605 all הַכֵּלִ֣ים H3627 and all these vessels <הָאֹהֶל כ> (הָאֵ֔לֶּה H428 another ק) אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 which עָשָׂ֥ה H6213 made חִירָ֛ם H2438 which Hiram לַמֶּ֥לֶךְ H4428 to king שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה H8010 Solomon בֵּ֣ית H1004 for the house יְהוָ֑ה H3068 of the LORD נְחֹ֖שֶׁת H5178 brass מְמֹרָֽט׃ H4803 polished

⁴⁶ בְּכִכַּ֤ר H3603 In the plain הַיַּרְדֵּן֙ H3383 of Jordan יְצָקָ֣ם H3332 cast הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 did the king בְּמַעֲבֵ֖ה H4568 them in the clay הָאֲדָמָ֑ה H127 ground בֵּ֥ין H996 between סֻכּ֖וֹת H5523 between Succoth וּבֵ֥ין H996 between צָרְתָֽן׃ H6891 and Zarthan

⁴⁷ וַיַּנַּ֤ח H3240 left שְׁלֹמֹה֙ H8010 And Solomon אֶת־ H853 כָּל־ H3605 all הַכֵּלִ֔ים H3627 all the vessels מֵרֹ֖ב H7230 many מְאֹ֣ד H3966 too מְאֹ֑ד H3966 too לֹ֥א H3808 could נֶחְקַ֖ר H2713 found out מִשְׁקַ֥ל H4948 neither was the weight הַנְּחֹֽשֶׁת׃ H5178 of the brass

⁴⁸ וַיַּ֣עַשׂ H6213 made שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 And Solomon אֵ֚ת H853 כָּל־ H3605 all הַכֵּלִ֔ים H3627 all the vessels אֲשֶׁ֖ר H834 which בֵּ֣ית H1004 that unto the house יְהוָ֑ה H3068 of the LORD אֵ֚ת H853 מִזְבַּ֣ח H4196 the altar הַזָּהָ֔ב H2091 of gold וְאֶת־ H853 הַשֻּׁלְחָ֗ן H7979 and the table אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which עָלָ֛יו H5921 and לֶ֥חֶם H3899 the bread הַפָּנִ֖ים H6440 of the Presence זָהָֽב׃ H2091 of gold

⁴⁹ וְאֶת־ H853 הַ֠מְּנֹרוֹת H4501 And the candlesticks חָמֵ֨שׁ H2568 five מִיָּמִ֜ין H3225 on the right וְחָמֵ֧שׁ H2568 and five מִשְּׂמֹ֛אול H8040 on the left לִפְנֵ֥י H6440 before הַדְּבִ֖יר H1687 the oracle זָהָ֣ב H2091 gold סָג֑וּר H5462 of pure וְהַפֶּ֧רַח H6525 with the flowers וְהַנֵּרֹ֛ת H5216 and the lamps וְהַמֶּלְקַחַ֖יִם H4457 and the tongs זָהָֽב׃ H2091 gold

⁵⁰ וְ֠הַסִּפּוֹת H5592 And the bowls וְהַֽמְזַמְּר֧וֹת H4212 and the snuffers וְהַמִּזְרָק֛וֹת H4219 and the basons וְהַכַּפּ֥וֹת H3709 and the spoons וְהַמַּחְתּ֖וֹת H4289 and the censers זָהָ֣ב H2091 gold סָג֑וּר H5462 pure וְהַפֹּת֡וֹת H6596 and the hinges לְדַלְתוֹת֩ H1817 for the doors הַבַּ֨יִת H1004 house הַפְּנִימִ֜י H6442 of the inner לְקֹ֣דֶשׁ H6944 the most הַקֳּדָשִׁ֗ים H6944 holy לְדַלְתֵ֥י H1817 for the doors הַבַּ֛יִת H1004 of the house לַהֵיכָ֖ל H1964 of the temple זָהָֽב׃ H2091 gold פ

⁵¹ וַתִּשְׁלַם֙ H7999 So was ended כָּל־ H3605 all הַמְּלָאכָ֔ה H4399 all the work אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 after עָשָׂ֛ה H6213 made הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ H4428 that king שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה H8010 Solomon בֵּ֣ית H1004 for the house יְהוָ֑ה H3068 of the LORD וַיָּבֵ֨א H935 brought in שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה H8010 And Solomon אֶת־ H853 קָדְשֵׁ֣י ׀ H6944 had dedicated דָּוִ֣ד H1732 the things which David אָבִ֗יו H1 his father אֶת־ H853 הַכֶּ֤סֶף H3701 the silver וְאֶת־ H853 הַזָּהָב֙ H2091 and the gold וְאֶת־ H853 הַכֵּלִ֔ים H3627 and the vessels נָתַ֕ן H5414 did he put בְּאֹצְר֖וֹת H214 among the treasures בֵּ֥ית H1004 of the house יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 of the LORD פ

¹ אָ֣ז H227 Then יַקְהֵ֣ל H6950 assembled שְׁלֹמֹ֣ה H8010 Then Solomon אֶת־ H853 זִקְנֵ֣י H2205 the elders יִשְׂרָאֵ֡ל H3478 of Israel אֶת־ H853 כָּל־ H3605 and all רָאשֵׁ֣י H7218 and all the heads הַמַּטּוֹת֩ H4294 of the tribes נְשִׂיאֵ֨י H5387 the chief הָאָב֜וֹת H1 of the fathers לִבְנֵ֧י H1121 of the children יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל H3478 of Israel אֶל־ H413 to הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ H4428 unto king שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה H8010 Solomon יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם H3389 in Jerusalem לְֽהַעֲל֞וֹת H5927 that they might bring up אֶת־ H853 אֲר֧וֹן H727 the ark בְּרִית־ H1285 of the covenant יְהוָ֛ה H3068 of the LORD מֵעִ֥יר H5892 out of the city דָּוִ֖ד H1732 of David הִ֥יא H1931 which צִיּֽוֹן׃ H6726 which Zion

² וַיִּקָּ֨הֲל֜וּ H6950 assembled אֶל־ H413 to הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ H4428 themselves unto king שְׁלֹמֹה֙ H8010 Solomon כָּל־ H3605 All אִ֣ישׁ H376 And all the men יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 of Israel בְּיֶ֥רַח H3391 in the month הָאֵֽתָנִ֖ים H388 Ethanim בֶּחָ֑ג H2282 at the feast ה֖וּא H1931 which הַחֹ֥דֶשׁ H2320 month הַשְּׁבִיעִֽי׃ H7637 which the seventh

³ וַיָּבֹ֕אוּ H935 came כֹּ֖ל H3605 all זִקְנֵ֣י H2205 And all the elders יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 of Israel וַיִּשְׂא֥וּ H5375 took up הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים H3548 and the priests אֶת־ H853 הָאָרֽוֹן׃ H727 the ark

⁴ וַֽיַּעֲל֞וּ H5927 And they brought up אֶת־ H853 אֲר֤וֹן H727 the ark יְהוָה֙ H3068 of the LORD וְאֶת־ H853 אֹ֣הֶל H168 and the tabernacle מוֹעֵ֔ד H4150 of the congregation וְאֶֽת־ H853 כָּל־ H3605 and all כְּלֵ֥י H3627 vessels הַקֹּ֖דֶשׁ H6944 and all the holy אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which בָּאֹ֑הֶל H168 that in the tabernacle וַיַּעֲל֣וּ H5927 bring up אֹתָ֔ם H853 הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים H3548 even those did the priests וְהַלְוִיִּֽם׃ H3881 and the Levites

⁵ וְהַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 And king שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה H8010 Solomon וְכָל־ H3605 and all עֲדַ֤ת H5712 and all the congregation יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 of Israel הַנּוֹעָדִ֣ים H3259 that were assembled עָלָ֔יו H5921 and אִתּ֖וֹ H854 for לִפְנֵ֣י H6440 unto him with him before הָֽאָר֑וֹן H727 the ark מְזַבְּחִים֙ H2076 sacrificing צֹ֣אן H6629 sheep וּבָקָ֔ר H1241 and oxen אֲשֶׁ֧ר H834 after לֹֽא־ H3808 could יִסָּפְר֛וּ H5608 that could not be told וְלֹ֥א H3808 or יִמָּנ֖וּ H4487 nor numbered מֵרֹֽב׃ H7230 for multitude

⁶ וַיָּבִ֣אוּ H935 brought in הַ֠כֹּהֲנִים H3548 And the priests אֶת־ H853 אֲר֨וֹן H727 the ark בְּרִית־ H1285 of the covenant יְהוָ֧ה H3068 of the LORD אֶל־ H413 to מְקוֹמ֛וֹ H4725 unto his place אֶל־ H413 into דְּבִ֥יר H1687 into the oracle הַבַּ֖יִת H1004 of the house אֶל־ H413 to קֹ֣דֶשׁ H6944 to the most הַקֳּדָשִׁ֑ים H6944 holy אֶל־ H413 about תַּ֖חַת H8478 under כַּנְפֵ֥י H3671 under the wings הַכְּרוּבִֽים׃ H3742 of the cherubims

⁷ כִּ֤י H3588 For הַכְּרוּבִים֙ H3742 For the cherubims פֹּרְשִׂ֣ים H6566 spread forth כְּנָפַ֔יִם H3671 two wings אֶל־ H413 over מְק֖וֹם H4725 over the place הָֽאָר֑וֹן H727 of the ark וַיָּסֹ֧כּוּ H5526 covered הַכְּרֻבִ֛ים H3742 and the cherubims עַל־ H5921 over הָאָר֥וֹן H727 the ark וְעַל־ H5921 over בַּדָּ֖יו H905 and the staves מִלְמָֽעְלָה׃ H4605 thereof above

⁸ וַֽיַּאֲרִכוּ֮ H748 And they drew out הַבַּדִּים֒ H905 the staves וַיֵּרָאוּ֩ H7200 were seen out רָאשֵׁ֨י H7218 that the ends הַבַּדִּ֤ים H905 of the staves מִן־ H4480 from הַקֹּ֙דֶשׁ֙ H6944 in the holy עַל־ H5921 and פְּנֵ֣י H6440 before הַדְּבִ֔יר H1687 the oracle וְלֹ֥א H3808 could יֵרָא֖וּ H7200 and they were not seen הַח֑וּצָה H2351 without וַיִּ֣הְיוּ H1961 become שָׁ֔ם H8033 are there עַ֖ד H5704 against הַיּ֥וֹם H3117 and there they are unto this day הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 to this

¹⁰ וַיְהִ֕י H1961 happened בְּצֵ֥את H3318 were come out הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים H3548 And it came to pass when the priests מִן־ H4480 from הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ H6944 of the holy וְהֶעָנָ֥ן H6051 that the cloud מָלֵ֖א H4390 filled אֶת־ H853 בֵּ֥ית H1004 the house יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 of the LORD

¹¹ וְלֹֽא־ H3808 not יָכְל֧וּ H3201 could הַכֹּהֲנִ֛ים H3548 So that the priests לַעֲמֹ֥ד H5975 not stand לְשָׁרֵ֖ת H8334 to minister מִפְּנֵ֥י H6440 because הֶֽעָנָ֑ן H6051 of the cloud כִּי־ H3588 for מָלֵ֥א H4390 had filled כְבוֹד־ H3519 for the glory יְהוָ֖ה H3068 of the LORD אֶת־ H853 בֵּ֥ית H1004 the house יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 of the LORD פ

¹² אָ֖ז H227 Then אָמַ֣ר H559 Then spake שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה H8010 Solomon יְהוָ֣ה H3068 The LORD אָמַ֔ר H559 said לִשְׁכֹּ֖ן H7931 that he would dwell בָּעֲרָפֶֽל׃ H6205 in the thick darkness

¹³ בָּנֹ֥ה H1129 I have surely בָנִ֛יתִי H1129 built בֵּ֥ית H1004 thee an house זְבֻ֖ל H2073 to dwell in לָ֑ךְ H0 מָכ֥וֹן H4349 a settled place לְשִׁבְתְּךָ֖ H3427 for thee to abide in עוֹלָמִֽים׃ H5769 for ever

¹⁴ וַיַּסֵּ֤ב H5437 about הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 And the king אֶת־ H853 פָּנָ֔יו H6440 his face וַיְבָ֕רֶךְ H1288 and blessed אֵ֖ת H853 כָּל־ H3605 all קְהַ֣ל H6951 all the congregation יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 of Israel וְכָל־ H3605 all קְהַ֥ל H6951 (and all the congregation יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 of Israel עֹמֵֽד׃ H5975 stood

¹⁵ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר H559 And he said בָּר֤וּךְ H1288 Blessed יְהוָה֙ H3068 the LORD אֱלֹהֵ֣י H430 God יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 of Israel אֲשֶׁר֙ H834 who דִּבֶּ֣ר H1696 which spake בְּפִ֔יו H6310 with his mouth אֵ֖ת H854 for דָּוִ֣ד H1732 unto David אָבִ֑י H1 my father וּבְיָד֥וֹ H3027 and hath with his hand מִלֵּ֖א H4390 fulfilled לֵאמֹֽר׃ H559 saying

¹⁶ מִן־ H4480 Since הַיּ֗וֹם H3117 Since the day אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 i הוֹצֵ֜אתִי H3318 that I brought forth אֶת־ H853 עַמִּ֣י H5971 my people אֶת־ H853 יִשְׂרָאֵל֮ H3478 Israel מִמִּצְרַיִם֒ H4714 out of Egypt לֹֽא־ H3808 did not בָחַ֣רְתִּי H977 I chose בְעִ֗יר H5892 no city מִכֹּל֙ H3605 of all שִׁבְטֵ֣י H7626 out of all the tribes יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 of Israel לִבְנ֣וֹת H1129 to build בַּ֔יִת H1004 an house לִהְי֥וֹת H1961 become שְׁמִ֖י H8034 that my name שָׁ֑ם H8033 might be there וָאֶבְחַ֣ר H977 might be therein but I chose בְּדָוִ֔ד H1732 David לִֽהְי֖וֹת H1961 become עַל־ H5921 to be over עַמִּ֥י H5971 to be over my people יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 Israel

¹⁷ וַיְהִ֕י H1961 become עִם־ H5973 in לְבַ֖ב H3824 And it was in the heart דָּוִ֣ד H1732 of David אָבִ֑י H1 my father לִבְנ֣וֹת H1129 to build בַּ֔יִת H1004 an house לְשֵׁ֥ם H8034 for the name יְהוָ֖ה H3068 of the LORD אֱלֹהֵ֥י H430 God יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 of Israel

¹⁸ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 said יְהוָה֙ H3068 And the LORD אֶל־ H413 about דָּוִ֣ד H1732 unto David אָבִ֔י H1 my father יַ֗עַן H3282 because אֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 after הָיָה֙ H1961 become עִם־ H5973 in לְבָ֣בְךָ֔ H3824 it was in thine heart לִבְנ֥וֹת H1129 to build בַּ֖יִת H1004 an house לִשְׁמִ֑י H8034 unto my name הֱטִיבֹ֔תָ H2895 thou didst well כִּ֥י H3588 for הָיָ֖ה H1961 become עִם־ H5973 in לְבָבֶֽךָ׃ H3824 that it was in thine heart

¹⁹ רַ֣ק H7535 Nevertheless אַתָּ֔ה H859 you לֹ֥א H3808 shall not תִבְנֶ֖ה H1129 thou shalt not build הַבָּ֑יִת H1004 the house כִּ֤י H3588 for אִם־ H518 but בִּנְךָ֙ H1121 but thy son הַיֹּצֵ֣א H3318 that shall come forth out מֵחֲלָצֶ֔יךָ H2504 of thy loins הֽוּא־ H1931 he יִבְנֶ֥ה H1129 he shall build הַבַּ֖יִת H1004 the house לִשְׁמִֽי׃ H8034 unto my name

²⁰ וַיָּ֣קֶם H6965 hath performed יְהוָ֔ה H3068 And the LORD אֶת־ H853 דְּבָר֖וֹ H1697 his word אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which דִּבֵּ֑ר H1696 that he spake וָאָקֻ֡ם H6965 and I am risen up תַּחַת֩ H8478 place דָּוִ֨ד H1732 in the room of David אָבִ֜י H1 my father וָאֵשֵׁ֣ב H3427 and sit עַל־ H5921 on כִּסֵּ֣א H3678 on the throne יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל H3478 of Israel כַּֽאֲשֶׁר֙ H834 which דִּבֶּ֣ר H1696 promised יְהוָ֔ה H3068 as the LORD וָאֶבְנֶ֣ה H1129 and have built הַבַּ֔יִת H1004 an house לְשֵׁ֥ם H8034 for the name יְהוָ֖ה H3068 of the LORD אֱלֹהֵ֥י H430 God יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 of Israel

²¹ וָאָשִׂ֨ם H7760 And I have set שָׁ֤ם H8033 There מָקוֹם֙ H4725 there a place לָֽאָר֔וֹן H727 for the ark אֲשֶׁר־ H834 which שָׁ֖ם H8033 There בְּרִ֣ית H1285 wherein the covenant יְהוָ֑ה H3068 of the LORD אֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 which כָּרַת֙ H3772 which he made עִם־ H5973 with אֲבֹתֵ֔ינוּ H1 with our fathers בְּהוֹצִיא֥וֹ H3318 when he brought them out אֹתָ֖ם H853 מֵאֶ֥רֶץ H776 of the land מִצְרָֽיִם׃ H4714 of Egypt ס

²² וַיַּעֲמֹ֣ד H5975 stood שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה H8010 And Solomon לִפְנֵי֙ H6440 before מִזְבַּ֣ח H4196 the altar יְהוָ֔ה H3068 of the LORD נֶ֖גֶד H5048 in the presence of כָּל־ H3605 of all קְהַ֣ל H6951 all the congregation יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 of Israel וַיִּפְרֹ֥שׂ H6566 and spread forth כַּפָּ֖יו H3709 his hands הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ H8064 toward heaven

²³ וַיֹּאמַ֗ר H559 And he said יְהוָ֞ה H3068 LORD אֱלֹהֵ֤י H430 God יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 of Israel אֵין־ H369 there כָּמ֣וֹךָ H3644 like אֱלֹהִ֔ים H430 no God בַּשָּׁמַ֣יִם H8064 like thee in heaven מִמַּ֔עַל H4605 above וְעַל־ H5921 on הָאָ֖רֶץ H776 or on earth מִתָּ֑חַת H8478 Thahash שֹׁמֵ֤ר H8104 beneath who keepest הַבְּרִית֙ H1285 covenant וְֽהַחֶ֔סֶד H2617 and mercy לַעֲבָדֶ֕יךָ H5650 with thy servants הַהֹלְכִ֥ים H1980 that walk לְפָנֶ֖יךָ H6440 before בְּכָל־ H3605 all לִבָּֽם׃ H3820 thee with all their heart

²⁴ אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 who שָׁמַ֗רְתָּ H8104 Who hast kept לְעַבְדְּךָ֙ H5650 with thy servant דָּוִ֣ד H1732 David אָבִ֔י H1 my father אֵ֥ת H853 אֲשֶׁר־ H834 which דִּבַּ֖רְתָּ H1696 that thou promisedst ל֑וֹ H0 וַתְּדַבֵּ֥ר H1696 him thou spakest בְּפִ֛יךָ H6310 also with thy mouth וּבְיָדְךָ֥ H3027 with thine hand מִלֵּ֖אתָ H4390 and hast fulfilled כַּיּ֥וֹם H3117 as this day הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 is this

²⁵ וְעַתָּ֞ה H6258 Now יְהוָ֣ה ׀ H3069 God אֱלֹהֵ֣י H430 God יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל H3478 of Israel שְׁ֠מֹר H8104 keep לְעַבְדְּךָ֨ H5650 with thy servant דָוִ֤ד H1732 David אָבִי֙ H1 my father אֵת֩ H853 אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 which דִּבַּ֤רְתָּ H1696 that thou promisedst לּוֹ֙ H0 לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 him saying לֹא־ H3808 shall not יִכָּרֵ֨ת H3772 There shall not fail לְךָ֥ H0 אִישׁ֙ H376 thee a man מִלְּפָנַ֔י H6440 in my sight יֹשֵׁ֖ב H3427 to sit עַל־ H5921 on כִּסֵּ֣א H3678 on the throne יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 of Israel רַ֠ק H7535 so אִם־ H518 if יִשְׁמְר֨וּ H8104 take heed בָנֶ֤יךָ H1121 that thy children אֶת־ H853 דַּרְכָּם֙ H1870 to their way לָלֶ֣כֶת H1980 me as thou hast walked לְפָנַ֔י H6440 before כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which הָלַ֖כְתָּ H1980 to walk לְפָנָֽי׃ H6440 before

²⁶ וְעַתָּ֖ה H6258 Now אֱלֹהֵ֣י H430 And now O God יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 of Israel יֵאָ֤מֶן H539 I pray thee be verified נָא֙ H4994 pray <דְּבָרֶיךָ כ> (דְּבָ֣רְךָ֔ H1697 act ק) אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which דִּבַּ֔רְתָּ H1696 which thou spakest לְעַבְדְּךָ֖ H5650 unto thy servant דָּוִ֥ד H1732 David אָבִֽי׃ H1 my father

²⁷ כִּ֚י H3588 for הַֽאֻמְנָ֔ם H552 indeed יֵשֵׁ֥ב H3427 dwell אֱלֹהִ֖ים H430 But will God עַל־ H5921 and הָאָ֑רֶץ H776 common הִ֠נֵּה H2009 behold הַשָּׁמַ֜יִם H8064 and heaven וּשְׁמֵ֤י H8064 of heavens הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ H8064 heaven לֹ֣א H3808 cannot יְכַלְכְּל֔וּךָ H3557 cannot contain אַ֕ף H637 thee how much less כִּֽי־ H3588 for הַבַּ֥יִת H1004 this house הַזֶּ֖ה H2088 this אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which בָּנִֽיתִי׃ H1129 that I have builded

²⁸ וּפָנִ֜יתָ H6437 Yet have thou respect אֶל־ H413 to תְּפִלַּ֧ת H8605 unto the prayer עַבְדְּךָ֛ H5650 of thy servant וְאֶל־ H413 and to תְּחִנָּת֖וֹ H8467 and to his supplication יְהוָ֣ה H3068 O LORD אֱלֹהָ֑י H430 my God לִשְׁמֹ֤עַ H8085 to hearken אֶל־ H413 to הָֽרִנָּה֙ H7440 unto the cry וְאֶל־ H413 and to הַתְּפִלָּ֔ה H8605 and to the prayer אֲשֶׁ֧ר H834 which עַבְדְּךָ֛ H5650 which thy servant מִתְפַּלֵּ֥ל H6419 prayeth לְפָנֶ֖יךָ H6440 before הַיּֽוֹם׃ H3117 thee to day

²⁹ לִהְיוֹת֩ H1961 become עֵינֶ֨ךָ H5869 That thine eyes פְתֻח֜וֹת H6605 may be open אֶל־ H413 toward הַבַּ֤יִת H1004 toward this house הַזֶּה֙ H2088 this לַ֣יְלָה H3915 night וָי֔וֹם H3117 and day אֶל־ H413 toward הַ֨מָּק֔וֹם H4725 toward the place אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 of which אָמַ֔רְתָּ H559 of which thou hast said יִהְיֶ֥ה H1961 become שְׁמִ֖י H8034 My name שָׁ֑ם H8033 mayest לִשְׁמֹ֙עַ֙ H8085 shall be there that thou mayest hearken אֶל־ H413 toward הַתְּפִלָּ֔ה H8605 unto the prayer אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which יִתְפַּלֵּ֣ל H6419 shall make עַבְדְּךָ֔ H5650 which thy servant אֶל־ H413 toward הַמָּק֖וֹם H4725 toward this place הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 this

³⁰ וְשָׁ֨מַעְתָּ֜ H8085 And hearken אֶל־ H413 toward תְּחִנַּ֤ת H8467 thou to the supplication עַבְדְּךָ֙ H5650 of thy servant וְעַמְּךָ֣ H5971 and of thy people יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 Israel אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 when יִֽתְפַּֽלְל֖וּ H6419 when they shall pray אֶל־ H413 toward הַמָּק֣וֹם H4725 toward this place הַזֶּ֑ה H2088 this וְ֠אַתָּה H859 you תִּשְׁמַ֞ע H8085 and hear אֶל־ H413 toward מְק֤וֹם H4725 place שִׁבְתְּךָ֙ H3427 thy dwelling אֶל־ H413 toward הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם H8064 thou in heaven וְשָׁמַעְתָּ֖ H8085 and when thou hearest וְסָלָֽחְתָּ׃ H5545 forgive

³¹ אֵת֩ H853 אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 If יֶחֱטָ֥א H2398 trespass אִישׁ֙ H376 If any man לְרֵעֵ֔הוּ H7453 against his neighbour וְנָֽשָׁא־ H5378 debt ב֥וֹ H0 אָלָ֖ה H423 and an oath לְהַֽאֲלֹת֑וֹ H422 upon him to cause him to swear וּבָ֗א H935 come אָלָ֛ה H423 and the oath לִפְנֵ֥י H6440 before מִֽזְבַּחֲךָ֖ H4196 thine altar בַּבַּ֥יִת H1004 in this house הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 this

³² וְאַתָּ֣ה ׀ H859 you תִּשְׁמַ֣ע H8085 Then hear הַשָּׁמַ֗יִם H8064 thou in heaven וְעָשִׂ֙יתָ֙ H6213 and do וְשָׁפַטְתָּ֣ H8199 and judge אֶת־ H853 עֲבָדֶ֔יךָ H5650 thy servants לְהַרְשִׁ֣יעַ H7561 condemning רָשָׁ֔ע H7563 the wicked לָתֵ֥ת H5414 to bring דַּרְכּ֖וֹ H1870 his way בְּרֹאשׁ֑וֹ H7218 upon his head וּלְהַצְדִּ֣יק H6663 and justifying צַדִּ֔יק H6662 the righteous לָ֥תֶת H5414 to give ל֖וֹ H0 כְּצִדְקָתֽוֹ׃ H6666 him according to his righteousness ס

³³ בְּֽהִנָּגֵ֞ף H5062 be smitten down עַמְּךָ֧ H5971 When thy people יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל H3478 Israel לִפְנֵ֥י H6440 before אוֹיֵ֖ב H341 the enemy אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 because יֶחֶטְאוּ־ H2398 because they have sinned לָ֑ךְ H0 וְשָׁ֤בוּ H7725 against thee and shall turn again אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ H413 and וְהוֹד֣וּ H3034 to thee and confess אֶת־ H853 שְׁמֶ֔ךָ H8034 thy name וְהִֽתְפַּֽלְל֧וּ H6419 and pray וְהִֽתְחַנְּנ֛וּ H2603 and make supplication אֵלֶ֖יךָ H413 about בַּבַּ֥יִת H1004 unto thee in this house הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 this

³⁴ וְאַתָּה֙ H859 you תִּשְׁמַ֣ע H8085 Then hear הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם H8064 thou in heaven וְסָ֣לַחְתָּ֔ H5545 and forgive לְחַטַּ֖את H2403 the sin עַמְּךָ֣ H5971 of thy people יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 Israel וַהֲשֵֽׁבֹתָם֙ H7725 and bring them again אֶל־ H413 to הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה H127 unto the land אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which נָתַ֖תָּ H5414 which thou gavest לַאֲבוֹתָֽם׃ H1 unto their fathers ס

³⁵ בְּהֵעָצֵ֥ר H6113 is shut up שָׁמַ֛יִם H8064 When heaven וְלֹא־ H3808 is no יִהְיֶ֥ה H1961 become מָטָ֖ר H4306 and there is no rain כִּ֣י H3588 because יֶחֶטְאוּ־ H2398 because they have sinned לָ֑ךְ H0 וְהִֽתְפַּֽלְל֞וּ H6419 against thee if they pray אֶל־ H413 toward הַמָּק֤וֹם H4725 toward this place הַזֶּה֙ H2088 this וְהוֹד֣וּ H3034 and confess אֶת־ H853 שְׁמֶ֔ךָ H8034 thy name וּמֵחַטָּאתָ֥ם H2403 from their sin יְשׁוּב֖וּן H7725 and turn כִּ֥י H3588 when תַעֲנֵֽם׃ H6031 when thou afflictest

³⁶ וְאַתָּ֣ה ׀ H859 you תִּשְׁמַ֣ע H8085 Then hear הַשָּׁמַ֗יִם H8064 thou in heaven וְסָ֨לַחְתָּ֜ H5545 and forgive לְחַטַּ֤את H2403 the sin עֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙ H5650 of thy servants וְעַמְּךָ֣ H5971 and of thy people יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 Israel כִּ֥י H3588 indeed תוֹרֵ֛ם H3384 that thou teach אֶת־ H853 הַדֶּ֥רֶךְ H1870 way הַטּוֹבָ֖ה H2896 them the good אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which יֵֽלְכוּ־ H1980 walk בָ֑הּ H0 וְנָתַתָּ֤ה H5414 and give מָטָר֙ H4306 rain עַל־ H5921 on אַרְצְךָ֔ H776 upon thy land אֲשֶׁר־ H834 which נָתַ֥תָּה H5414 which thou hast given לְעַמְּךָ֖ H5971 to thy people לְנַחֲלָֽה׃ H5159 for an inheritance ס

³⁷ רָעָ֞ב H7458 famine כִּֽי־ H3588 If יִהְיֶ֣ה H1961 become בָאָ֗רֶץ H776 If there be in the land דֶּ֣בֶר H1698 if there be pestilence כִּֽי־ H3588 if יִ֠הְיֶה H1961 become שִׁדָּפ֨וֹן H7711 blasting יֵרָק֜וֹן H3420 mildew אַרְבֶּ֤ה H697 locust חָסִיל֙ H2625 if there be caterpiller כִּ֣י H3588 if יִהְיֶ֔ה H1961 become כִּ֧י H3588 if יָֽצַר־ H6887 besiege ל֛וֹ H0 אֹיְב֖וֹ H341 if their enemy בְּאֶ֣רֶץ H776 them in the land שְׁעָרָ֑יו H8179 of their cities כָּל־ H3605 whatever נֶ֖גַע H5061 whatsoever plague כָּֽל־ H3605 whatever מַחֲלָֽה׃ H4245 whatsoever sickness

³⁸ כָּל־ H3605 any תְּפִלָּ֣ה H8605 What prayer כָל־ H3605 all תְּחִנָּ֗ה H8467 and supplication אֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 after תִֽהְיֶה֙ H1961 made לְכָל־ H3605 any הָ֣אָדָ֔ם H120 soever be by any man לְכֹ֖ל H3605 any עַמְּךָ֣ H5971 by all thy people יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 Israel אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 after יֵדְע֗וּן H3045 which shall know אִ֚ישׁ H376 every man נֶ֣גַע H5061 the plague לְבָב֔וֹ H3824 of his own heart וּפָרַ֥שׂ H6566 and spread forth כַּפָּ֖יו H3709 his hands אֶל־ H413 toward הַבַּ֥יִת H1004 toward this house הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 this

⁴⁰ לְמַ֙עַן֙ H4616 because of יִֽרָא֔וּךָ H3372 That they may fear כָּל־ H3605 all הַ֨יָּמִ֔ים H3117 thee all the days אֲשֶׁר־ H834 which הֵ֥ם H1992 they חַיִּ֖ים H2416 that they live עַל־ H5921 and פְּנֵ֣י H6440 in הָאֲדָמָ֑ה H127 the land אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which נָתַ֖תָּה H5414 which thou gavest לַאֲבֹתֵֽינוּ׃ H1 unto our fathers

⁴¹ וְגַם֙ H1571 Also אֶל־ H413 concerning הַנָּכְרִ֔י H5237 Moreover concerning a stranger אֲשֶׁ֛ר H834 who לֹא־ H3808 is not מֵעַמְּךָ֥ H5971 that not of thy people יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 Israel ה֑וּא H1931 he וּבָ֛א H935 but cometh out מֵאֶ֥רֶץ H776 country רְחוֹקָ֖ה H7350 of a far לְמַ֥עַן H4616 for שְׁמֶֽךָ׃ H8034 thy name's

⁴² כִּ֤י H3588 for יִשְׁמְעוּן֙ H8085 (For they shall hear אֶת־ H853 שִׁמְךָ֣ H8034 name הַגָּד֔וֹל H1419 of thy great וְאֶת־ H853 יָֽדְךָ֙ H3027 hand הַֽחֲזָקָ֔ה H2389 and of thy strong וּֽזְרֹעֲךָ֖ H2220 arm הַנְּטוּיָ֑ה H5186 and of thy stretched out וּבָ֥א H935 abide וְהִתְפַּלֵּ֖ל H6419 and pray אֶל־ H413 toward הַבַּ֥יִת H1004 toward this house הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 this

⁴³ אַתָּ֞ה H859 you תִּשְׁמַ֤ע H8085 Hear הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ H8064 thou in heaven מְכ֣וֹן H4349 place שִׁבְתֶּ֔ךָ H3427 thy dwelling וְעָשִׂ֕יתָ H6213 and do כְּכֹ֛ל H3605 to all אֲשֶׁר־ H834 which יִקְרָ֥א H7121 calleth אֵלֶ֖יךָ H413 about הַנָּכְרִ֑י H5237 according to all that the stranger לְמַ֣עַן H4616 order יֵדְעוּן֩ H3045 may know כָּל־ H3605 all עַמֵּ֨י H5971 to thee for that all people הָאָ֜רֶץ H776 of the earth אֶת־ H853 שְׁמֶ֗ךָ H8034 thy name לְיִרְאָ֤ה H3372 to fear אֹֽתְךָ֙ H853 כְּעַמְּךָ֣ H5971 thee as thy people יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 Israel וְלָדַ֕עַת H3045 and that they may know כִּי־ H3588 by שִׁמְךָ֣ H8034 by thy name נִקְרָ֔א H7121 is called עַל־ H5921 and הַבַּ֥יִת H1004 that this house הַזֶּ֖ה H2088 this אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which בָּנִֽיתִי׃ H1129 which I have builded

⁴⁴ כִּי־ H3588 When יֵצֵ֨א H3318 go out עַמְּךָ֤ H5971 If thy people לַמִּלְחָמָה֙ H4421 to battle עַל־ H5921 against אֹ֣יְב֔וֹ H341 against their enemy בַּדֶּ֖רֶךְ H1870 whithersoever אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 whatever תִּשְׁלָחֵ֑ם H7971 thou shalt send וְהִתְפַּֽלְל֣וּ H6419 them and shall pray אֶל־ H413 to יְהוָ֗ה H3068 unto the LORD דֶּ֤רֶךְ H1870 toward הָעִיר֙ H5892 the city אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which בָּחַ֣רְתָּ H977 which thou hast chosen בָּ֔הּ H0 וְהַבַּ֖יִת H1004 and the house אֲשֶׁר־ H834 which בָּנִ֥תִי H1129 that I have built לִשְׁמֶֽךָ׃ H8034 for thy name

⁴⁵ וְשָׁמַעְתָּ֙ H8085 Then hear הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם H8064 thou in heaven אֶת־ H853 תְּפִלָּתָ֖ם H8605 their prayer וְאֶת־ H853 תְּחִנָּתָ֑ם H8467 and their supplication וְעָשִׂ֖יתָ H6213 and maintain מִשְׁפָּטָֽם׃ H4941 their cause

⁴⁶ כִּ֣י H3588 When יֶֽחֶטְאוּ־ H2398 If they sin לָ֗ךְ H0 כִּ֣י H3588 When אֵ֤ין H369 there אָדָם֙ H120 against thee (for no man אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 who לֹא־ H3808 not יֶחֱטָ֔א H2398 that sinneth וְאָנַפְתָּ֣ H599 not) and thou be angry בָ֔ם H0 וּנְתַתָּ֖ם H5414 with them and deliver לִפְנֵ֣י H6440 unto אוֹיֵ֑ב H341 them to the enemy וְשָׁב֤וּם H7617 so that they carry them away שֹֽׁבֵיהֶם֙ H7617 captives אֶל־ H413 to אֶ֣רֶץ H776 the land הָאוֹיֵ֔ב H341 of the enemy רְחוֹקָ֖ה H7350 far א֥וֹ H176 or קְרוֹבָֽה׃ H7138 or near

⁴⁷ וְהֵשִׁ֙יבוּ֙ H7725 if they shall bethink אֶל־ H413 about לִבָּ֔ם H3820 thought בָּאָ֖רֶץ H776 themselves in the land אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 they נִשְׁבּוּ־ H7617 whither they were carried captives שָׁ֑ם H8033 in it וְשָׁ֣בוּ ׀ H7725 and repent וְהִֽתְחַנְּנ֣וּ H2603 and make supplication אֵלֶ֗יךָ H413 to you בְּאֶ֤רֶץ H776 unto thee in the land שֹֽׁבֵיהֶם֙ H7617 of them that carried them captives לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 saying חָטָ֥אנוּ H2398 We have sinned וְהֶעֱוִ֖ינוּ H5753 and have done perversely רָשָֽׁעְנוּ׃ H7561 we have committed wickedness

⁴⁸ וְשָׁ֣בוּ H7725 And return אֵלֶ֗יךָ H413 to you בְּכָל־ H3605 all לְבָבָם֙ H3824 unto thee with all their heart וּבְכָל־ H3605 all נַפְשָׁ֔ם H5315 and with all their soul בְּאֶ֥רֶץ H776 in the land אֹיְבֵיהֶ֖ם H341 of their enemies אֲשֶׁר־ H834 who שָׁב֣וּ H7617 which led them away captive אֹתָ֑ם H853 וְהִֽתְפַּֽלְל֣וּ H6419 and pray אֵלֶ֗יךָ H413 to you דֶּ֤רֶךְ H1870 unto thee toward אַרְצָם֙ H776 their land אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which נָתַ֣תָּה H5414 which thou gavest לַאֲבוֹתָ֔ם H1 unto their fathers הָעִיר֙ H5892 the city אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which בָּחַ֔רְתָּ H977 which thou hast chosen וְהַבַּ֖יִת H1004 and the house אֲשֶׁר־ H834 which <בָּנִיתָ כ> (בָּנִ֥יתִי H1129 build ק) לִשְׁמֶֽךָ׃ H8034 for thy name

⁴⁹ וְשָׁמַעְתָּ֤ H8085 Then hear הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ H8064 in heaven מְכ֣וֹן H4349 place שִׁבְתְּךָ֔ H3427 thy dwelling אֶת־ H853 תְּפִלָּתָ֖ם H8605 thou their prayer וְאֶת־ H853 תְּחִנָּתָ֑ם H8467 and their supplication וְעָשִׂ֖יתָ H6213 and maintain מִשְׁפָּטָֽם׃ H4941 their cause

⁵⁰ וְסָלַחְתָּ֤ H5545 And forgive לְעַמְּךָ֙ H5971 thy people אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 who חָֽטְאוּ־ H2398 that have sinned לָ֔ךְ H0 וּלְכָל־ H3605 and all פִּשְׁעֵיהֶ֖ם H6588 against thee and all their transgressions אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which פָּשְׁעוּ־ H6586 wherein they have transgressed בָ֑ךְ H0 וּנְתַתָּ֧ם H5414 against thee and give לְרַחֲמִ֛ים H7356 them compassion לִפְנֵ֥י H6440 before שֹׁבֵיהֶ֖ם H7617 them who carried them captive וְרִֽחֲמֽוּם׃ H7355 that they may have compassion

⁵¹ כִּֽי־ H3588 for עַמְּךָ֥ H5971 For they thy people וְנַחֲלָתְךָ֖ H5159 and thine inheritance הֵ֑ם H1992 like אֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 which הוֹצֵ֙אתָ֙ H3318 which thou broughtest forth מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם H4714 out of Egypt מִתּ֖וֹךְ H8432 from the midst כּ֥וּר H3564 of the furnace הַבַּרְזֶֽל׃ H1270 of iron

⁵² לִהְי֨וֹת H1961 become עֵינֶ֤יךָ H5869 That thine eyes פְתֻחוֹת֙ H6605 may be open אֶל־ H413 to תְּחִנַּ֣ת H8467 unto the supplication עַבְדְּךָ֔ H5650 of thy servant וְאֶל־ H413 and to תְּחִנַּ֖ת H8467 and unto the supplication עַמְּךָ֣ H5971 of thy people יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 Israel לִשְׁמֹ֣עַ H8085 to hearken אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם H413 to בְּכֹ֖ל H3605 whenever קָרְאָ֥ם H7121 unto them in all that they call אֵלֶֽיךָ׃ H413 about

⁵³ כִּֽי־ H3588 for אַתָּ֞ה H859 You הִבְדַּלְתָּ֤ם H914 For thou didst separate לְךָ֙ H0 לְֽנַחֲלָ֔ה H5159 thine inheritance מִכֹּ֖ל H3605 all עַמֵּ֣י H5971 them from among all the people הָאָ֑רֶץ H776 of the earth כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 you דִּבַּ֜רְתָּ H1696 as thou spakest בְּיַ֣ד ׀ H3027 by the hand מֹשֶׁ֣ה H4872 of Moses עַבְדֶּ֗ךָ H5650 thy servant בְּהוֹצִיאֲךָ֧ H3318 when thou broughtest אֶת־ H853 אֲבֹתֵ֛ינוּ H1 our fathers מִמִּצְרַ֖יִם H4714 out of Egypt אֲדֹנָ֥י H136 O Lord יְהוִֽה׃ H3068 GOD פ

⁵⁴ וַיְהִ֣י ׀ H1961 become כְּכַלּ֣וֹת H3615 had made an end שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה H8010 And it was that when Solomon לְהִתְפַּלֵּל֙ H6419 of praying אֶל־ H413 to יְהוָ֔ה H3068 unto the LORD אֵ֛ת H853 כָּל־ H3605 entire הַתְּפִלָּ֥ה H8605 all this prayer וְהַתְּחִנָּ֖ה H8467 and supplication הַזֹּ֑את H2063 he קָ֞ם H6965 he arose מִלִּפְנֵ֨י H6440 from before מִזְבַּ֤ח H4196 the altar יְהוָה֙ H3068 of the LORD מִכְּרֹ֣עַ H3766 from kneeling עַל־ H5921 on בִּרְכָּ֔יו H1290 on his knees וְכַפָּ֖יו H3709 with his hands פְּרֻשׂ֥וֹת H6566 spread up הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ H8064 to heaven

⁵⁵ וַֽיַּעְמֹ֕ד H5975 And he stood וַיְבָ֕רֶךְ H1288 and blessed אֵ֖ת H853 כָּל־ H3605 all קְהַ֣ל H6951 all the congregation יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 of Israel ק֥וֹל H6963 voice גָּד֖וֹל H1419 with a loud לֵאמֹֽר׃ H559 saying

⁵⁶ בָּר֣וּךְ H1288 Blessed יְהוָ֗ה H3068 the LORD אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 who נָתַ֤ן H5414 that hath given מְנוּחָה֙ H4496 rest לְעַמּ֣וֹ H5971 unto his people יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 Israel כְּכֹ֖ל H3605 to all אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which דִּבֵּ֑ר H1696 according to all that he promised לֹֽא־ H3808 not נָפַ֞ל H5307 there hath not failed דָּבָ֣ר H1697 word אֶחָ֗ד H259 one מִכֹּל֙ H3605 of all דְּבָר֣וֹ H1697 promise הַטּ֔וֹב H2896 of all his good אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 who דִּבֶּ֔ר H1696 which he promised בְּיַ֖ד H3027 by the hand מֹשֶׁ֥ה H4872 of Moses עַבְדּֽוֹ׃ H5650 his servant

⁵⁷ יְהִ֨י H1961 become יְהוָ֤ה H3068 The LORD אֱלֹהֵ֙ינוּ֙ H430 our God עִמָּ֔נוּ H5973 with כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 after הָיָ֖ה H1961 become עִם־ H5973 was with אֲבֹתֵ֑ינוּ H1 be with us as he was with our fathers אַל־ H408 nay יַעַזְבֵ֖נוּ H5800 let him not leave וְאַֽל־ H408 or יִטְּשֵֽׁנוּ׃ H5203 us nor forsake

⁵⁸ לְהַטּ֥וֹת H5186 That he may incline לְבָבֵ֖נוּ H3824 our hearts אֵלָ֑יו H413 to himself לָלֶ֣כֶת H1980 walk בְּכָל־ H3605 all דְּרָכָ֗יו H1870 in all his ways וְלִשְׁמֹ֨ר H8104 and to keep מִצְוֹתָ֤יו H4687 his commandments וְחֻקָּיו֙ H2706 and his statutes וּמִשְׁפָּטָ֔יו H4941 and his judgments אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which צִוָּ֖ה H6680 which he commanded אֶת־ H853 אֲבֹתֵֽינוּ׃ H1 our fathers

⁵⁹ וְיִֽהְי֨וּ H1961 become דְבָרַ֜י H1697 And let these my words אֵ֗לֶּה H428 and may these אֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 which הִתְחַנַּ֙נְתִּי֙ H2603 wherewith I have made supplication לִפְנֵ֣י H6440 before יְהוָ֔ה H3068 the LORD קְרֹבִ֛ים H7126 approach אֶל־ H413 to יְהוָ֥ה H3068 unto the LORD אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ H430 our God יוֹמָ֣ם H3119 day וָלָ֑יְלָה H3915 and night לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת ׀ H6213 that he maintain מִשְׁפַּ֣ט H4941 the cause עַבְדּ֗וֹ H5650 of his servant וּמִשְׁפַּ֛ט H4941 and the cause עַמּ֥וֹ H5971 of his people יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 Israel דְּבַר־ H1697 as the matter י֥וֹם H3117 each בְּיוֹמֽוֹ׃ H3117 day

⁶⁰ לְמַ֗עַן H4616 so דַּ֚עַת H3045 may know כָּל־ H3605 all עַמֵּ֣י H5971 That all the people הָאָ֔רֶץ H776 of the earth כִּ֥י H3588 that יְהוָ֖ה H3068 that the LORD ה֣וּא H1931 he הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים H430 God אֵ֖ין H369 there עֽוֹד׃ H5750 else

⁶¹ וְהָיָ֤ה H1961 Let לְבַבְכֶם֙ H3824 Let your heart שָׁלֵ֔ם H8003 therefore be perfect עִ֖ם H5973 with יְהוָ֣ה H3068 with the LORD אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ H430 our God לָלֶ֧כֶת H1980 to walk בְּחֻקָּ֛יו H2706 in his statutes וְלִשְׁמֹ֥ר H8104 and to keep מִצְוֹתָ֖יו H4687 his commandments כַּיּ֥וֹם H3117 as at this day הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 this

⁶² וְֽהַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 And the king וְכָל־ H3605 and all יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 and all Israel עִמּ֑וֹ H5973 with זֹבְחִ֥ים H2076 with him offered זֶ֖בַח H2077 sacrifice לִפְנֵ֥י H6440 before יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 the LORD

⁶³ וַיִּזְבַּ֣ח H2076 offered שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה H8010 And Solomon אֵ֣ת H853 זֶ֣בַח H2077 a sacrifice הַשְּׁלָמִים֮ H8002 of peace offerings אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which זָבַ֣ח H2076 which he offered לַיהוָה֒ H3068 unto the LORD בָּקָ֗ר H1241 oxen עֶשְׂרִ֤ים H6242 and twenty וּשְׁנַ֙יִם֙ H8147 two אֶ֔לֶף H505 thousand וְצֹ֕אן H6629 sheep מֵאָ֥ה H3967 and an hundred וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים H6242 and twenty אָ֑לֶף H505 thousand וַֽיַּחְנְכוּ֙ H2596 dedicated אֶת־ H853 בֵּ֣ית H1004 the house יְהוָ֔ה H3068 of the LORD הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 So the king וְכָל־ H3605 and all בְּנֵ֥י H1121 and all the children יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 of Israel

⁶⁴ בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 The same day הַה֗וּא H1931 the same קִדַּ֨שׁ H6942 hallow הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ H4428 did the king אֶת־ H853 תּ֣וֹךְ H8432 the middle הֶחָצֵ֗ר H2691 of the court אֲשֶׁר֙ H834 that was לִפְנֵ֣י H6440 that before בֵית־ H1004 the house יְהוָ֔ה H3068 of the LORD כִּי־ H3588 because עָ֣שָׂה H6213 for there he offered שָׁ֗ם H8033 there אֶת־ H853 הָֽעֹלָה֙ H5930 burnt offerings וְאֶת־ H853 הַמִּנְחָ֔ה H4503 and meat offerings וְאֵ֖ת H853 חֶלְבֵ֣י H2459 and the fat הַשְּׁלָמִ֑ים H8002 of the peace offerings כִּֽי־ H3588 because מִזְבַּ֤ח H4196 altar הַנְּחֹ֙שֶׁת֙ H5178 because the brasen אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 that was לִפְנֵ֣י H6440 that before יְהוָ֔ה H3068 the LORD קָטֹ֗ן H6996 too little מֵֽהָכִיל֙ H3557 to receive אֶת־ H853 הָעֹלָ֣ה H5930 the burnt offerings וְאֶת־ H853 הַמִּנְחָ֔ה H4503 and meat offerings וְאֵ֖ת H853 חֶלְבֵ֥י H2459 and the fat הַשְּׁלָמִֽים׃ H8002 of the peace offerings

⁶⁵ וַיַּ֣עַשׂ H6213 held שְׁלֹמֹ֣ה H8010 Solomon בָֽעֵת־ H6256 And at that time הַהִ֣יא ׀ H1931 he אֶת־ H853 הֶחָ֡ג H2282 a feast וְכָל־ H3605 and all יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל H3478 and all Israel עִמּוֹ֩ H5973 with קָהָ֨ל H6951 congregation גָּד֜וֹל H1419 with him a great מִלְּב֥וֹא H935 from the entering חֲמָ֣ת ׀ H2574 in of Hamath עַד־ H5704 against נַ֣חַל H5158 unto the river מִצְרַ֗יִם H4714 of Egypt לִפְנֵי֙ H6440 before יְהוָ֣ה H3068 the LORD אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ H430 our God שִׁבְעַ֥ת H7651 seven יָמִ֖ים H3117 days וְשִׁבְעַ֣ת H7651 and seven יָמִ֑ים H3117 days אַרְבָּעָ֥ה H702 four עָשָׂ֖ר H6240 teen יֽוֹם׃ H3117 days

⁶⁶ בַּיּ֤וֹם H3117 day הַשְּׁמִינִי֙ H8066 On the eighth שִׁלַּ֣ח H7971 away אֶת־ H853 הָעָ֔ם H5971 the people וַֽיְבָרֲכ֖וּ H1288 and they blessed אֶת־ H853 הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 the king וַיֵּלְכ֣וּ H1980 went לְאָהֳלֵיהֶ֗ם H168 unto their tents שְׂמֵחִים֙ H8056 joyful וְט֣וֹבֵי H2896 and glad לֵ֔ב H3820 of heart עַ֣ל H5921 and כָּל־ H3605 for all הַטּוֹבָ֗ה H2896 for all the goodness אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 after עָשָׂ֤ה H6213 had done יְהוָה֙ H3068 that the LORD לְדָוִ֣ד H1732 for David עַבְדּ֔וֹ H5650 his servant וּלְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 and for Israel עַמּֽוֹ׃ H5971 his people
