1 Paul and Timothy, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all God's people in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi along with the overseers and deacons.
2 May grace and peace be yours from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 I thank my God every time I think about you.
4 In every prayer of mine I am always making request for you all with joy,
5 because of your fellowship in the gospel from the first day to now,
6 having been confident of this very thing that he who began a good work in you will complete it at the Day of Jesus Christ.
7 Even as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart. You all are partakers of my gift of grace, both in my shackles and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel.
8 For God is my witness, how greatly I long for you all in the tender mercies of Jesus Christ,
9 and I pray that your love may greatly increase even more and more with knowledge and discernment,
10 so that you may test and know what is good, in order that you may be pure and blameless on the Day of Christ.
11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ to the glory, and praise of God.
12 But I want you to understand brothers that the things, which happened to me, have worked out for the furtherance of the gospel,
13 so that my shackles (because of Christ) are clearly known in the whole palace and everywhere else.
14 Many of the brothers in the Lord, growing confident by my shackles are much bolder to speak the word without fear.
15 In fact, some preach Christ even from envy and strife and also some from goodwill.
16 The one preaches Christ from self-serving interests, not sincerely, supposing it will add affliction to my imprisonment.
17 But the other from love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the Gospel.
18 What does it matter? Only that in every way whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached, and in that I rejoice, yes and will rejoice.
19 For I know that this will become my deliverance through your prayer and supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
20 As is my earnest expectation and hope, so that I will not be ashamed in anything, but in full confidence, as always, so now Christ will be greatly honored in my body whether by life or by death.
21 For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.
22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my hard work, yet which I should choose, I don't know.
23 For I am in a narrow place between two, having a desire to leave and be with Christ, which is far better,
24 nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you.
25 Having this confidence, I know that I will remain here and continue with you all for your progress and joy of faith,
26 so that your rejoicing may be greater and greater in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.
27 Only let your behavior be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one mind working toward the faith of the gospel.
28 Don't be terrified by your adversaries by anything, which is to them clear proof of perdition but to you of salvation and that from God.
29 For it is given to you in the behalf of Christ not only to believe in him but to also suffer for his sake.
30 Having the same conflict that you saw in me and now hear of me.
1 Therefore if there is any motivation in Christ, if any comfort from love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affections and mercies,
2 then fulfill my joy that you be like-minded, having the same love, joined together in soul and mind.
3 Let nothing be done through strife or self-seeking praise but in a humble attitude let each consider the other better than themselves.
4 Every one must not be just attentive of his own things but every one also on the things of others.
5 Have this attitude in you, which was also in Christ Jesus,
6 who, being in the form of God, didn't think it robbery to be equal to God
7 but made himself a nobody and took the form of a slave and was made in the likeness of men.
8 Being found outwardly as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death even the death of the cross.
9 Therefore God has also highly exalted him and given him a name, which is above every name.
10 So that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, things in heaven, on earth, and under the earth
11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence but now much more in my absence work out you own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God who shows his work in you both to will and do his good pleasure.
14 Do all things without grumbling and questioning [what is true].
15 So that you may be blameless and innocent, the children of God, without need for rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.
16 Offering the word of life, so that I can rejoice on the Day of Christ, so that I have not worked so hard in vain, nor exhausted myself in vain.
17 Yes, and if I am offered in sacrifice and service for your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.
18 For this same thing you also are glad and rejoice with me.
19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, so that I also may be cheerful when I know how you're doing.
20 For I have no man like-minded, who will genuinely care how you're doing.
21 For everyone seeks their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's.
22 But you know his proven character that like a son with his father; he has served with me in the Gospel.
23 Therefore I hope to send him quickly, as soon as I will see how it goes with me.
24 But I trust in the Lord that I will also come soon.
25 However, I think it necessary to send Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow-worker, and fellow-soldier, to you,
26 for he longed for you all and was full of heaviness, because you had heard that he had been sick.
27 Truly he was sick, near to death, but God had mercy on him and not on him only but also on me, lest I would have sorrow on sorrow.
28 Therefore I sent him even sooner, so that when you see him again, you may rejoice and that I have less grief.
29 Therefore welcome him with all gladness, and hold such [men] in honor.
30 Because for the work of Christ, he was close to dying, disregarding his life in order to complete [what's] lacking in meeting my needs.
1 Finally my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. Indeed to write the same things to you doesn't wear me out, and for you it is safety.
2 Beware of dogs; beware of evil workers; beware of the mutilators.
3 For we are the circumcision who worships God in the spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
4 Even though I could have confidence in the flesh. If any one thinks that he has something to be confident about in the flesh, then I more so.
5 [I was] circumcised on the eighth day from Israeli descent, from the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew from Hebrews, concerning the law--a Pharisee.
6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning righteousness, which is in the Law, blameless.
7 But what things were an advantage to me, I considered those loss for Christ.
8 Yes indeed, I consider everything loss for the excellency of the knowledge about Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of everything and consider them but worthless filth, so that I may gain Christ.
9 And be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is from The Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness, which is from God on faith.
10 So that I may know him, the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, so I may be conformed to his death.
11 If somehow I may attain the resurrection of the dead.
12 Not because I had already attained, or am already perfect, but I follow closely if also I may take hold of what I also am taken hold of by Christ Jesus.
13 Brothers, I don't consider myself to have taken hold of it but this one thing [I do] forgetting those things, which are behind [me] and reach out for those things, which are before [me].
14 I press on toward the goal of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, be thinking this way, and if any think differently, God will make even this known to you.
16 Nevertheless, to what we have already arrived at, let us live our life by the same rule; let us strive for the same thing.
17 Brothers, be imitators of me and watch carefully those who live this way, just as you have us for an example.
18 (For many live [their lives] about whom I have told you about often, and now tell you with weeping [that they are] the enemies of the cross of Christ.
19 Whose end is destruction, whose God [is their] belly, [whose] glory is in their shame, who are concerned about earthly things,
20 but our citizenship is in heaven, from where we also look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
21 Who will change our humiliated body, that it may become like his glorious body, according to the power by which he is able to even subdue everything under himself.
1 Therefore, my dearly loved brothers, [whom I] long [to see], my joy and crown, even so stand firmly in the Lord, dearly beloved.
2 I plead with Euodias and Synthche, that they be like-minded in the Lord.
3 And I also ask you, true yokefellow; help these women who worked with me in the gospel with Clement, too, and with other of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life.
4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, "Rejoice."
5 Let your patient gentleness be known by all people. The Lord is at hand.
6 Don't worry about anything; instead in every thing with prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God,
7 and the peace of God, which is beyond all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are well spoken of, if there is any moral excellence, if there is anything praiseworthy, think about these things.
9 Those things, which you have learned, receive, heard, and seen in me, do, and the God of peace will be with you.
10 I rejoiced greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again. Regarding this you were seeking to do, but you lacked an opportunity.
11 Not that I am speaking about need, for I have learned to be content in whatever state I am.
12 I know how to go through humble circumstances, and I know how to have more than I need everywhere and in everything. I am instructed to be both satisfied and to be hungry, to both have more than I need and to have not enough to meet my needs.
13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
14 Nevertheless, you have done well to share in my affliction.
15 Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no congregation shared concerning giving and receiving except you.
16 For even in Thessalonica you sent one time and then again to meet my needs.
17 It's not that I want a gift, but I want an abounding amount of fruit [credited] to your account.
18 But I have all and more than enough; I am satisfied having received from Epaphroditus the things [which you sent], [19] and my God will supply all your need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

20 Now to God and our Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
21 Greet all God's people in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you.
22 All God's people greet you, mainly those of Caesar's household.
23 May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
